Admins? Mods? What do you think of it - a subforum for that? Or not?
Or what? Maybe - eh? Yes? Huh? Well...yeah?

I have approached the mods/admins with a proposal for this project/subforum, and as soon as I hear back I will let everyone know.

yeah it's in discussion - Basically everybody who has commented so far has been in complete agreement - it's just a matter of waiting for more people to comment and then an Admin setting it up. I think it will definitly happen within a week unless somebody points out a major problem...

Hey why not use Footbag.org to create this online comp?

An admin can create a comp, notify people that it will be held online. Videos are to be presented BEFORE the date of the event. You can register etc...

just an idea.

Off the top of my idea, because we want the idea to improve modified, not footbag.org forums.

Plus we have a more active member base here that would make this worthwhile, compared to footbag.org

Alright everybody, this project is going to happen, whether it ends up with its own subforum or not ..

So what you can do now is GET FILMING! Get those sick 3's on tape ... Get the footage onto your computer, and hopefully by the time a number of people have sick 3's on computer we will have a subforum and be ready to start the competition.

It looks as if I am going to be organizing this competition and running the polls and whatnot, so once you have first Sick 3 ready for competition, send me a PM with the address where your video can be found and what level you want to compete in (Novice, Intermediate, or Open). Get filming guys!

dont mean to wreck the party, but look how many videos are on the forum now. like, one a week. dont you think thsi will just be like 10 people posting sick 3's, and not the community project you all envision? if people arent making videos and posting them, why would they make sick 3's?

just a thought.

It's a good thought .. and really, lack of videos being sent in is the only real thing that will hold this idea back.

However, a couple things come to mind ..

It's a lot quicker for someone to simply film a 3 move combo than it is to film an entire shred video, so there could be more people who are able to devote the time to getting sick 3's up.

Also, I assume that there are a lot of people who film but simply don't put their stuff online, for whatever reason, whether it is lack of adequate footage to make an entire video, lack of desire to edit, or anything else. Hopefully this competition will bring those people out ...

Also, the competitions will be spaced accordingly ... Ie. If only 2 people have sent in a shred 30, chances are we won't run a competition then. We will gauge it by trial and error and hopefully as time goes on the idea will become more effective. It's definitely worth a shot anyway ...

Tell me David, will YOU be contributing video? I hope so!

Yeah we only need 4 more open competitors I would say - 5 is plenty - we don't want too big a pool.

You won't necessarily get your ass kicked.

There will be different skill divisions, so you will be competing against others who are of similar skill level.

PM me the address of the video when you get it up :)

What the heck! Count me in the open competition. I'm currently on a small break, but I will try for a Sick 3 by Sunday or Monday.

What I want to know is how are they being judged? Adds? Linkage? Diversity? Both sidedness? Cleanliness? Whether or not the competitor is wearing really short shorts or not?

I need to know!!

The competitor with the rattiest beard will win. Double points for women!!
:D

I think it will just be a vote won't it? There will be a topic with the links - everybody watches all the combos and then votes for the one they think is best! So it's up to each person to vote however they like.

Personally I think sick 3 is a technical event and you should judge it based purely on which combo you think is technically the hardest combo!

So in the first open pool so far. Me, Bryin - we need three more people...!

Get those combos hit!!

It's Happening. The forum has been created for it and Posi-cole is going to be the moderator. He and I are just going to go over a few things in the next day or two and he's going to have the chance to finish seting it up. After that it'll be open for everyone.

This is going to be epic!
