I used to enjoy the occasional Lime Wheat and Jalapeno Wheat brews from Eddie McStiff's in Moab, Utah. They were interesting. But I hadn't quite developed the sensitive tastes I have now. I wouldn't mind an opportunity to put them to the test again. Besides, Moab is a very cool place.

Wow i missed this topic for ages!
In the last like 2 years or so i guess, ive become much more into beer than before. Now its pretty much the nly alcohol i drink. Its cheaper generally, there is a huge variety of tastes and varieties, you get more for your money per glass i reckon, and on an empty stomach a few schooners can put you in a good mood
Theres also nothing better than finishing a shred or getting home from work, and having a coldie... so so good

At my local i drink Carlton Draught which is pretty standard. Just tried some James Squires the other day and it was primo.. that honey taste like Jeremy mentioned, very nice!
Coopers Pale is good, its bizarre how it has the yeast dregs left in the bottle... James Boags Premium is also good too.
Jeremy and I also had Blue Tongue beer, a couple of varieties, i remember it being pretty good too, that sweet honey flavour i think.
Im most looking forward to Prague this year and tasting some apparently brilliant stuff!

All week I've been drinking Cascade Summer Blonde - which is definitly the best beer I've had!!
It's a premium pale lagar style wheat beer - it's fairly sweet and has an amazing taste. It is very expensive - even though it is made only an hours drive from where I live it costs about $80 a carton - compared with the most expenisve imported beers like Stella or Corona are $60 or less. But it is completely worth it.
I'm not sure if you can get it out of Tasmania - so it's a great reason to visit - it only gets made during summer as well.

i go through favorite beers about every week. anyone ever hop on some bicycles with a couple friends and ride from bar to bar for pints? the most laughs while drunk ive ever had. fun fun!
anyone ever had arrogant bastard ale? that shite kicked my butt last weekend. i drank 6 and woke up in my boxers on the floor with only a towel for a blanket. i think next time im going to limit intake of the bastard to 3-4.
anyone ever mix beers? youngs double choco stout/bass or guinness/bloody mary mix are two of my favs.
tonight im going to get a sixer of golden eagle(i think its called) from india. the convience store owner over by scarymary's apt orders the good stuff for us.

i rode my bicycle up to the local grocer last night and picked up 3 arrogant bastards. on my way home i dropped my wallet...so i turned my bike around and went to pick it up. when i bent over to pick up the wallet, while still on my bike, all three pints fell out of my backpack(which i thought i zipped up all the way) and came crashing to down on the street. the arrogant bastards just bounced and clanked on the concrete and rolled across the street. to my surprise, none of the bottles were cracked or broken. thats arrogance.

There is quite a lot of competition on this business area, so all the finnish mainstream brands cost pretty much the same. If you find the right place, a 12-pack shouldn't cost more than 9 euros. Or sometimes less than 7.

All the beers in tax class 3 have max 4.7 % alcohol and can be sold in grocery stores and kiosks. If there's more alcohol, the beer can be sold only in liquer stores, called Alko. The government has a monopoly in selling alcohols with more than 4,7 % alcohol by volume.
My favorit finnish beer is Karhu, but I have to admit the flavor is pretty similar with other finnish beers. At least after a six-pack...

I'm downing a nice porter right now.
It's a new brand for me, MacTarnahans's, and this is the Blackwatch Cream Porter.
It's a most excellent drink, and fairly inexpensive.
It's brewed in Oregon, USA.
A very nice strong taste of roasted barely and the darkened malt isn't not over powering at all.
I would rate this beer a 8.7. It would be ideal if it had just a bit more creaminess on the pallette , and a very slight increase in hops. A porter isn't supposed to be very hoppy, but this one could use just the tiniest bit of additional hop, more for aroma than taste. The taste is spot on for a porter.

I am so not a fan of cheap beer. I drank way too much of it as a teenager. Probably the worst brands of beer I ever drank were Hamm's and Golden Anniversary. Why on god's green earth did I ever drink that shit? Well when you're a teenager and you can get a case for $5.99 it's tough to pass it up and even tougher to live down.
Now I'm all about good beer.
Recently, I had a great new beer (new to me). It was O'dell's 90 Schilling. We have it on tap where I work, but I'm not allowed to drink at my job (stupid fucking policy) so I never tried it on tap. However, a friend brought a 6-pack of longneck's over to my house and I had one. It was Delicious. Very much an after dinner dessert beer. It's pretty sweet as beer goes. In a pitcher it practically glows a cloudy golden color and most people tend to drink it with a slice of Orange.
A local favorite is Molly's Titanic Brown Ale. Fairly dark and very smooth. It's excellent with meat dishes. They brew it onsite at Rock Bottom Brewery. Golden Buff is also a very good beer of theirs. It's lighter in color (golden) and goes well with appetizer style food like wings and such.
Oh and I can't forget Fischer's Amber Bock. It's such a great beer as a prelude to a meal, but it must be served in a bottle and poured in small amounts into a chilled glass. It has such an excellent aroma that can only be appreciated when you have an almost empty glass to inhale as you drink.
Now I'm all about good beer.

I think I have drank Natural Light so many times that i actually have taken on some what of an aquired taste for it. Some of you may know what I am talking about. For the others who don't, this probably sounds repulsive. Im from Pennsylvania. If your from Pennsylvania chances are you drink Yuengling. Its very good. Im a big fan of Magic Hat, and Fat Tire. New Castle is very good but I don't drink it out of bottles anymore, its much better when its on tap.

I've drank nothing but good beer since about 1992 or so, but lately I had the very strange urge to drink cheap beer. Out of a can. So lately my favorite beers have been: Shaffer (2.15 a 6 pack) and Natural Bohemian (2.15 a 6 pack). While in Vietnam I discovered the wonderful beers: TigerBeer, and 333. These beers are ultra cheap and go down like water.
Angkor beer from Cambodia is particularly good (or bad) too.
I'm looking forward to trying some of that Finnish beer this summer.

I haven't been keeping you up to date with my beers much.
I've become a big fan of Leffe: blonde and of Hoagarrden Forbiden Fruit (I hope I spelt those right). Belgian beers rock.
Also my beer bottle collection is coming on nicely - now up to 13. Of which 5 are imports, and 12 are boutique beers. (or at least expensive ones )

Belgian beers definately do ROCK. There is a pretty sweet bar in little Italy, Ottawa, called Pub Italia. They have a beer menu with more than 200 beers!!! Each beer comes with a special glass with it too. It can get a little bit pricey but whenever a special occasion arises we tend to go and party there - it's worth the extra cash...
Each beer has a brief description too. You can definately get beer from all over the world, hence the price markup. It most cost a fortune to import that much beer.
Last time we were all there I read the description for the beer 'Czechvar'. It went something like this: "Possibly the best lager ever made". I enthusiastically told my friends that the world champion of footbag is from the Czech Republic and that he probably drinks this beer and so we should drink it too... So we all had a good laugh and tried it. CZECHVAR IS AWESOME.
I like Hoegarten (or however you spell it) too. It is pretty tasty and you can buy it on tap in some bars around town. Although it's got kind of a 'wheat' taste to it I find. So usually I drink some Heineken first and switch to Hoegarten afterwards.
Tonite I tried Magnars (spelling?) for the first time. I was craving Strongbow but the place I was at didn't serve it on tap. They recommended Magnars, and I must say, it was pretty tasty.

It has a very complex flavour with a lot of different tastes and I thought a pepperary (is that a word) aftertaste. I don't know if I'd drink it again but definitly an intriguing taste!
