AND DANNY WILLIAMS. The only one of you Montlake guys who actually shows up to sessions with any regularity. :) In all honesty, I didn't add you because I completely forgot your last name.

Mosher -- I plan on it. ;)

Session Update:

I came close to hitting a lot of things I've been working on for a little bit now, but since I didn't hit them, I won't say what they were. Towards the beginning of the session I played in Lavers (something I rarely if ever do anymore) and fucked around with some parlor tricks (Alex...). I managed to link some drunken butterflies and I hit inside kick set zulu inside kick both sides. :) After that warm up, I progressed into an actual session and switched to the 520's. The only things worth mentioning that I hit were a few 20+ guiltless strings which has become less frequent for me as I'm actively trying to throw in fewer BOP. However, the most important part of the session was when I was really owning my BOP later on. I hit a few ~30+ runs of BOP that were very, very relaxed. Also, since I trashed my Abshire again and don't have the motivation to fix the stitching right now, I'm playing with my Matt Emmings bag. It was a little sketchy at first, but this bag OWNS.

Future Goals:
To diversify my strings' content and to increase my mastery of components I'm going to do two things:

- Begin practicing much more difficult drills. Not just drills to learn a concept, but drills that involve a few different concepts that I'm going to work on each session until I own them. The first drill is: diving mirage>butterfly>ducking paradox mirage>butterfly>repeat. This should only take a session or two to be able to hit easily and schoool.

- When I'm sessioning with other people, I'm going to make a concious effort to have a pattern to the first move I do in a string. I've done this in the past and it worked very well to help me have equal pixies on both sides. Let me elaborate: Each time I get the bag, I will hit a move that uses a set and cycle through each side with a couple different sets I want to work on.

Example:
1: flipside pixie move
2: strong pixie move
3: flipside stepping move
4: strong stepping move
5: flipside atomic move
6: strong atomic move

(thanks to Justin for this idea)

Peace,

Update:

After my last session in which I had a chance to talk to Justin for the first time in a while he had me trying some big tricks for once. I am very thankful for this. I'm coming off my high horse about hitting really long strings and not working on big tricks, as I'm now privy to the use of long tricks as expedients in that goal. I managed to hit:

phoenix bs
smoke bs

And now both of my ducks set to the perfect height and feel very easy. They were easy before, but occasionally the height would fluctuate. I'm starting to think that schooling big tricks help to serve as a way to solidify concepts. At the moment I'm working on other big tricks and will post them as I hit them.

Oh, and also:

Fun session today with Justin Stephonson (Literal_Hack on here but it isn't like no one will know him. He lurks like a motherfucker). We played with these two hacky sackers on the waterfront and there was a real good vibe to the session. I hit spinning paradox mirage and I landed a few ducks. Also came real close to a dive as well.

Got an MIP tonight though. I don't want to go into to many details because I'd sound like an idiot if I did (Which my friends, I am) but the bottom line is the cop stopped me for driving with my lights off at 10PM and found two 18 packs of Budweiser in my car that Justin had bought for me after the session.

No need to worry though Justin as I know you're reading this, I didn't tell the guy anything about where I got it from, and I plan to keep it that way.

The cop was a really nice guy and was very kind and polite. His name tag on his uniform said "D. Johnson" and he even laughed when I asked him if his first name was Don.

Sam, I don't think I'll be able to session tomorrow for the reasons stated above. Also Justin, my parents are suspicious of the fact that I went into Silverdale today and came home and got an MIP, so I don't know when I'll be sessioning with you again, but I really don't feel it's anything to worry about. My parents let shit go pretty easily.

I want to say one last think about Don Johnson, he had a drug sniffing dog in the bag of my car; he also found a Altoid container smelling of weed, but he did not bring the dog out, and did not include anything about the Altoid container on my official writeup. I am really thankful for this, as it would have just been another thing I would've had to deal with.

On the other hand, I don't believe it is right to be able to arrest minors for possessing either drugs or alchohal, so I don't think the argument of "He was just doing his job" stands up. Such sayings, along with "My country right or wrong", breed the ignorance that exists in our country. Either way I'm greatful for the son of a bitch.

Time to find a job to pay for my court fees.

PS: You guys kick. Both literally and non.

Josh just got a job and is struggling to pass school, he has now taken on many college level classes to try and graduate on time.

Me, I work weekends like always sadly and I don't have a car anymore, and I am not the biggest bus person......

I have been kicking solo a lot though so expect to see me with at least a couple new things at Folk Life, I am going to try and get off work for that whole week and just camp at Scotts.

Yesterday I almost had Atom Smasher on both sides (NOT LEGGY), I just couldn't stall the mirage on either, I expect to hit those both Monday (since I don't work then). Also, Muted Atomic SS Reverse Whirl, happy to say I hit that.

I have been working those flip pixies but they only seem to be on for a little bit then I loose em again, I hate them.

A couple days ago I wasn't having a good time in my NB's and got really frustrated, they are still in the corner of the wall I threw them at. I think I have switched back to Lavers again.

I found an awesom way to practice my flip clippers though since they arn't as strong as they should be. When I hold the sign at work, I just practice them there, along with other moves like rverse whirls and mirages and stuff. As amazing as it sounds while holding that huge ass sign I almost hit Diving SS Reverse Whirl in my full Subway Uniform, people stare at me like I am crazy.

I have kicked every day this week and my body aches, I have never felt better. Thought I would just update you guys, show you I am not dead, that I am still alive and kicking.... get it.

Outside sessions!

It almost looks like outside sessions may start taking place regularly, due to the strange, yet fantastic, weather. Dan and I (mainly Dan) had a good session on Saturday at Pike Place Market, followed by one on Sunday at the Seattle Science Center. While it took a while to get going on Sunday, we ended up shredding well (though Dan played better on Saturday if I remember right) in a number of different places. We ended up playing on a stage that it looked like some hand drummers were going to begin playing on, but we took off before they did.

Dan's spinning and ducking are progressing really quickly! I'm having to focus more on spinning so he doesn't get better at it than me too fast. ;) On that note, I schooled spinning and some more dialed concepts.

Peace,

Forcast for this weekend is rain

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I HEART OUTSIDE SESSIONS!!!!!11222@@@!!1112111@##$%^

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways. I've been having a ot of shred session lately. By that I mean no solo ones. Wednesday I kicked with Sam, Friday with Justin, Saturday with Sam, Sunday with Sam, Monday with Justin. Crazy! Now that Justin has a car it's easier to kick with regularity in the week.

Anyways, my game hasn't progressed TOO much over the last week because I haven't kicked all by my lonesome since over a week ago. Today I'm gonna get off of school, buy a rockstar, slam it, and go just rip my lavers into pieces shredding so hard. Ducks, spin, rakes; whatever dude I'm a rockstar. I'm fucking Ricky Moran.

Why am I so energetic right now, I'm minutes away from leaving to school.

Whatev'

Peace

Alright, I'm at school now and I'm more subdued than earlier.

I've been working on a lot of spinning/ducking stuff because I've seen a lot of players being inspired by Ricky Moran (Tom, Eric) and I figure I'd like to get a head start and start working on my ducking/spinning even before my shuffling.

So far I've hit;

Spinning clipper both sides
Ducking both sides
Diving
Spinning Pdx Mirage

I think I just gave my schools computers a virus though what with the Trojan virus thing on this site that everyone's been talking about. Whatever, it's all good, I needed my third period footbag fix.

Good session today, first time in a while that I was able to kick under Justin Dale's tutilage. I acredit my entire Footbag existence to him and Sam Potter.

Anyways, I was hitting a lot of ducking/spinning both sides today, and it's starting to feel more natural to the point where I feel safe throwing it in mid-string; but their is still defineatly some work to be done.

Also, Justin saw me hitting some same side legovers and pushed my to hit Drifter. I hit it fairly easily on my strong side, and moved on to working on my flipside. I was tired as hell already as the session was reaching its later stages, and probably gave over 100 tries at it on my flip (I'm bad at estimation, correct me if that estimate was wrong Sam) and finally hit it. I was drenched in sweat and it felt really good to be able to leave the session with that weight off my back.

Playing under Justin's critical eye really helps my game and pushes me to hit stuff and improve my game at home. I'm very greatful for that.

I'm really happy with where I'm taking my game right now. I hit Smear for the first time on Wednesday night, and felt really good about that. It was my first double-dex.

This next week I'm gonna drill a few things:

Pixie Sets
Flip Ducking
Flip Spinning
Drifters
Osis

A lot on my plate, and I doubt I'll accomplish all (If not one or two) by next Saturday, but I'll see what happens. Peace guys.

I don't know! I wasn't paying attention. Scott and I were playing catch with the shit you were leaking out of your bag. :P Props, though. You're progressing pretty damn fast. You've been playing for, what, four months now? Then again I guess I've made mad progress in the past four months, too. We're tearing it up. :)

As for me, I had a really good session as well. I started strong and petered out, as per the norm. I had a ton of long ~15 contact strings with a bunch of varied stuff thrown in. I can't remember exactly what I hit, but I know I did a bunch of varied spinning and ducking with a lot of drifters and whirls. I also managed to step easily in the middle of a run today, so working on those stepping challenges is paying off. Later on after Justin showed up I worked on paradox whirls. As always, Justin managed to show me some fundamental aspect of a move I was working on allowing me to make a lot of progress. Yet, unfortunately I hurt my flipside clipper working paradox whirl and couldn't use it the rest of the session. It degenerated into me mostly fucking around with Scott and hitting a bunch of random toe shit and trying really obscene moves.

This week's solo session plan:
-Hit all of my challenges and a few fives I'm ready for now.
-Work on stepping and spinning.
-Hit DLO and Torque a couple times each session so I'll be ready to work on those next week. :)

edit: Oh, also, MAY!!! May is going to be so epic! May Dayz->UW Street Fair->Folklife all over the course of three weekends. Everyone who can needs to be in the Northwest for this month! If you all want to see what Folklife was like last year, you can see several scenes in Fourkast with shots of Ricky and Justin from Folklife. So I don't have to describe the setting, Justin hitting fury and the long run with stepping drifter bsos was shot there, as well as Ricky's long ass pixie shuffle run.

UW Street Fair! I almost forgot about that. I remember last year when it slightly rained, yet RCS kept on kicking. Good times.

I haven't seriously kicked or schooled anything forever. Monday or Tuesday, Damien came to Terrace and chill. Good times.
Not having a bag sucks, and I am to lazy to call up Damien and shred, even though I really should. One day though, whenever I get that bag, I am going to go back to basics and just drill my ass off. Hopefully by May, i'll be going guiltless maybe? We'll find out.
So I had a dream, and I got some new kicking shorts and some CT520's! I think it may mean something.

Weird story, I got home from the shred session in Seattle yesterday and all my friends are at this one person's house bored. Someone brings up that they heard if you do 20 grams of Nutmeg then you get euphoric and hallucinate. I decide to try it and take a full 20 grams. Half an hour later nothing has happened, so I force down another 10 grams. We decide to give up after and hour of waiting for me to get high, and finally we leave to go into town. About 3 hours later it hits me, and I start seeing things, for instance my friends car floating a few cm's off the ground. Anyways I get home to my dark house and shit starts getting scary. I go up into my room and keep having the thought that demons were outside my house.

Anyways, I woke up this morning and had the worst hangover of my life. The back of my eyeballs hurt, I was drowsy, and my eyes were little slits of red. I'm still really tired right now and have no energy; everytime I stand up I get a huge dizzy spell.

Oh yea, another fun hallucination was when my arms fell asleep when I was sleeping (I keep my arms under my pillow when I sleep, thus no blood gets to them), until I woke up and couldn't feel my arms, I nudged the pillow and saw to arms underneath it and started freaking out thinkning some dead persons arms were next to me.

God I feel like shit. Don't ever take Nutmeg.

Dan, Dan, Dan, tsk tsk............. I once heard that pure nutmeg is poisoness.... or was that ginger, or was it somthing else.....

How did you take it?

----

I met up with Danny this morning, poor little guy was being tortured at school. Anyway, we met at Edmonds Community College and took the bus to the Post Office, it was there where I opened up my package from Ellis Piltz and out came 2 Footfighter bags, they were heavenly, fresh and literally broken in.

We then walked about a half mile to the barber shop where I was going to finally cut my golden locks (they were finally too much, getting in my eyes, I couldn't kick), Danny wanted to witness this momentus occasion, dare I say more anxious than me, but they were closed.

So then we stopped by Burger King then crossed the Street to Edmonds Woodway High School and had a mini 25 minute session. We both were "meh" probably because it was our first outdoor session in 5 Months and my first partner session in 2. The chemistry was off.

Danny and I split ways and when I got home I kicked a bit, about 40 minutes. Had a couple good combos, my links are really starting to come together, and I can sense my flip pixies getting better too.

However, the reason for this long story is this, I finally hit Atom Smasher, ON Both Sides!

The first, to OutKast "Hey Ya" (Flip Atomic, Strong Mirage) It was clean but really choppy like.

The second, my overall flipside, to Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Strong Atomic, Weak Mirage) It was visionary, reminded me of Miles, how atom smasher should be hit, perfect.

The second I hit the flip this incredible weight was lifted, I feel a revolution coming on...........

Not to much footbag-ness for me. Last time I kicked was with Damien when he got his footfighters. I should be getting one today, so i'll be posting in here more hopefully! wooooooo.
Good stuff. I'll be in Seattle this weekend after a long while.

So........ its been a week since my last post on here. I have gone through a great awakening but not because of hitting atom smashers last week (although I do believe getting that off my chest helped a lot), but rather from some advice and finally realizing somthing I have been denying for months, that I was going NO WHERE!

All I was doing was pixies and not working on contacts. My moves wern't as schooled as I would brag to people and my flip pixie wasn't going anywhere (a sure sign they wern't ready).

So last tuedsday, I started over, in a sense. My plan? To kick every day for at least an hour and a half (I could break it in to 2 small sessions if I was too tired) and I would spend the first part of the session on contacts of basics then schooling for the rest.

Tuesday: Osis, Butterfly
Wednesday: Osis, Butterfly
Thursday: Osis, Pdx Mirage, Illusion
Friday: Job Application Hunting and Work
Saturday: A LOOONG Day of Work and Hell
Sunday: Illusions (Buba, SS and Norm), Osis
Monday: Osis, Pdx Illusion and Mirage, STRONG contacts

So yeah, today was awesom, I started off the session, like literally started it off with an 8 contact run.

I did some Illusion > SS Illusion drills, and then hit Illusion > Legover (repete).

Butterfly > Pdx Illusion (repete).

Osis (x four)

Then, after 2.5 hours, I was dizzy, hungry, stinky and sweating I decided to start slowing it down a bit. I decided to just try a big move to filnish it all off, torque. Due to my massive schooling recently of Osis, I started "footing" each one and discovered that I shouldn't go big like I originally used to think and see others doing. I went small insted, my sets were barely higher than my knee and I kept getting so close, the bag even hit me in the ass a couple times until finally, BAM, it was perfect.

I am really hoping to turn all this around and catch up with where I should be if I hadn't had wasted so much time going big. There is a strong lesson in that, people have always said "don't go big" but I never listened, I wish I would have now.....

I havn't done more than a few pixies or atomics this whole last week and I feel fucking great about it. Can't wait to kick tomorrow, if I can even wait that long.
Its all or nothing
