The obnoxious girls that live above me moved out. now we have two chill girls who are fun to hang out with. Summer's going great. need to cut back on the ol medicine to save money.
We figured out how to burn our music. The new HanzSygnal album is on the way. expected release date: summer 06. i'm gonna try to set up an artist page on myspace.
Had a great session yesterday. Spins were way off.
hilights:
-5 contacts bap drill
-blizzard>smoke
-blurry whirl> step ss drifter
-worked on downtime barrages (need a lot of cleaning up)
-working on whirls after sets (atomic ss whirl, pixie whirls, etc)
-footed maelstrom (one of my dream moves)

hilights:
-rubberman
-bap drill
-gyro legover>fairy muted clip>gyro mirage>string (I really like these links)
-spin pdx illusion>atom smasher>symp dod>string
-lots of whirls and drifters

My buddy McCoy went to guatemala and brought me back a footbag he bought there. it is a brown corduroy eight panel filled with dirt. It is actually pretty shredable.
footbag has been sooo fun lately. I had a session last night with evan and ben. I was able to do things that I didn't know I could even do. still mostly working on downtime moves and i'm slowly moving into learning their paradox counterparts. my strings felt long, controlled, and really slow.
hilights:
-bap drill
-rubberman
-fury>string (my first fury
)
-paradox grifter bs
-a string with bsos pdx dlo, bsos pdx eggbeater, bsos paradox whirl
-dod>whirr>string (my new favorite link)
-blurry whirl>whirr>string
-slapdown>whirr>string
-quantum ss legover>ss blender>string
-drilled pixie game
-ducks ducks ducks ducks ducks ducks ducks (not many spins at all
)
today(played like crap)
-footed my first beastly link-->spin pdx blender>food processor the last part was super off kilter and laid way out.

NO! I'd post more, but I've got a busy summer doing upkeep at my house. But you may not put the blog down!Sporatical_Distractions wrote:it really sucks being the only one to write in this blog. i've been slowly losing incentive to write in here and I've contemplated letting this blog die for quite awhile. this blog may be no more

Open Shred 30s
http://fizzied.phasing.org/MFJ3_shred30_0001.wmv
used a brand new program. for whatever reason, the sound didn't record.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
this is from the online comps thread:
Some brief background:
I do not claim to be a musician by any means. Me and my roomate just mess around with the sampler and keyboards while recording our jam session. We actually just got these instruments a few months ago and just started learning how to use them. My alias is 'Hanz' and his is 'R-Sygnal'. that's how we got the name HanzSygnal for our jams.
the song:
This is a jam session from a few weeks ago. It's me (hanz) on the sampler and my roomate (R-Sygnal) on the keys. I was having a lot of fun adding sound effects while running the drums and some more keyboard lines. My roomate was busting some softcore keyboards.
I had a really hard time cutting this song short, so I made available a solid chunk of the session. I decided to post a pretty slow mellow song anyways, despite what I stated earlier, although it does pick up at the end. I do not expect this to place in the competition. I just wanted to put one of our songs online.
The name of the song is 'Mobius'. I just recently started hitting mobius bs and thought this song captured the mood I get from it. The slow part represents when you toss it up and hang in the air for a little bit. The song starts to pick up pretty far into the track and eventually becomes my very favorite part at 6:10 to the end of the song. the fast part at the end of the song represents the feeling received upon delaying the footbag and sealing it with a string.

My parents just found out that they are both diabetic. Due to my genetic predisposition, I am going to schedule a blood test to see if I have it. I definitely have all of the symptoms
I almost got attacked by a dog yesterday. I was walking to work from my home during my lunch break and a dog jumped out of an alley. Snarling, and baring it's teeth, it came charging. This was a big fuckin dog too. I turned around and started running. a second later, i turned around and hucked the last half of my peanut butter sandwich at it. luckily it went for the food and not me.
been drilling and working on my form. I still am not a big fan of it. it's been one of my main focuses since I went back and started at the basics again last summer.

THE WRATH OF THE MOSQUITOS
yesterday was the most fun day of my summer so far. I checked out this new water park that was built a few blocks from my parents house. It is the best water park I have been to (I've only been to two other than this). It was awesome. Went down these huge water slides that send you flying fast enough to destroy your equilibrium for about one minute. there was a false river w/ inner tubes going around the perimeter of the park for a nice relaxing ride. our natural rivers are still too cold for floating. there was a volleyball pit, log rolls, various assortments of jets spewing out water. The only problem is that the olympic size pool hasn't been built yet, so everyone had to cram into the kiddy pool and the false river. hours of fun. Upon entering, one kid looks at me and says, "Hey! I know you. you're that hackysack kid". If only I could be known by my name. or at least "that footbag kid". Lost one of my earings to the craziness. they were the only 4gauge ones I owned so I had to approach my mother with the awkward question of the summer: "can you lend me $20 so I can buy some earings? I lost one at the water park and don't want my holes to close. I'll pay you back tomorrow"..........awkward
That evening I played a kickball match. I hadn't played kickball since elementary school. it was soo fun. I've wanted to play kickball soooo bad since I've started footbagging to see where the new leg muscles would take me. And they took me deep into left field every time
There was also two kegs at this game which made for a very interesting evening. I must've received around 40 seperate mosquito bites. I would have way more had I not killed 200 incoming winged demons waiting to feast on my rich blood supply.
haven't played footbag since I last posted. I haven't felt the inclination.

I am living on cloud nine right now. I hit my ultimate dream move today, and the move that made me want to start footbag: barroque. I was also told it was clean. yay. The only dream move I have now is green eggs n ham. ha, like that'll happen
So if I was hit by a car tomorrow, and forever had to sit in a wheel chair, I would be content with how far I made it in footbag. I never thought that I'd make it to guiltless let alone hit any five add.
I had my first big move drill session in a long time. When I started, all I did was big moves. then I focused on strings and basics, so I was pleased to notice how good my knees felt.
hilights from past few days:
-barroque(new)
-blurry flux(new)
-maelstrom(new)
-crispy flurry
-spin osis>spin butt>tomahawk>string
-bsos toe blenders
-bsos alpine smear
-bsos phoenix
-a string where I really worked my strong whirl: spinning whirl>bop>blurry whirl>bop>ps whirl>bop>tomahawk>handcatch
-mindbender
-string w/ walkover, gyro sole stall, whirling inside, and lapcatch.
-ducking osis>spin illusion>ss butter>pdx egg>string
