Kaybagging Thursday! mega hyped! Have a dentist appointment in a little, then I'll go pick up my kayak mount. Just hit me with the address of your house and I should be good.
Props on the drill stuff. 22 ripwalks is pretty wicked.
Good to hear you're working blenders. From what I remember, they were pretty solid to begin with, now they're gonna be unstoppable.
Anyway, hell yeah, see ya Thursday!

Today was awesome. From the sesh with Nick to kayaking with Nick, it was definitely a good time. I wish I took the stuff off my camera, then charged it, then filmed lol. Next time.
Nick's drilling is definitely paying off. His form and the way he is hitting his tricks is much better. His balance is great. So many times where he kept the bag off the ground when I and many others would have dropped from loss of balance.
My highlights:
- a fair amount of strings that I was actually happy with
- far swirl b2b lol
- spinning pdx mirage > reactor first try
- jani first try to start a string
- flip jani first try to start the next string
- Whirlwind bsos (first time bsosing a 6)
- Vortex > Mobius bs (kinda flukey lol)
And kayaking was boss. First time takin some waves haha. Boo-yah.

I've kicked 3 times this week. Tried to film on wednesday, but the session just wasn't a happy one lol. Yesterday was more or less drilling. Today, I filmed again. I gotta bop way less lol. I'll work on that more once I get a better grasp on blenders. Yeah.. Got my first flip ripped warrior lol. I also hit a bunch of strong side ones today. But yeah, gotta do better strings lol.

Couple tips for blender:
1. You're starting way too late. Start it just like you would a regular whirl - your dexing leg should be up as soon as your setting foot is back on the ground. The way you're doing it, it's all one motion and it looks really hard on your knees.
2. Turn more, before the catch. Seriously, the trick is just a whirl. If you think of it that way, but instead of catching it you turn into the osis you should be golden. You've got enough crank to be good at them.
Nice whirlwind bsos

Thanks Zac, I appreciate the tips. Before this video, I'd done a couple hundred blenders each side, but it was obviously wasn't sticking to well haha.
I got to try out the tips yesterday, and starting the dex faster definitely helped. Bsosd it a bunch of different times, and they were fairly controlled.
The main drill I hit in the session before working blenders and stuff was:
whirl > stepping clipper > whirl > sidewalk > whirl > ripwalk > rpt
Not the hardest of drills, but I needed to work on that kind of stuff. There was some other decent stuff here and there, but it became painfully hard to get a string out at the end. It was a tad weird. But, I hadn't kicked in like two weeks, so.. that might've contributed.
edit: I also hit a lot of janis bs, but just couldn't seal the bsos. It was cool to hit so many of them though.

Yeah, I agree with Zac's advice. Rippin' always described blender as "fast whirl, slow osis."
I'm assuming that's a typo, since otherwise it's a lot harder drill. But yeah, stepping out of whirls is a good skill to have in your pocket, especially for fearless.g00d33 wrote:The main drill I hit in the session before working blenders and stuff was:

Kicked saturday and today. Saturday was meh, but it needed to be lol. Today was decent. It was hot, but I was able to keep it light.
I went from typical tiltless to ripwalks to blenders to symp whirls, and ended on furious. It was pretty successful all around. I probably hit some of the best janiwalkers of my life. Not saying much lol, but I still hit a fair amount of good ones. I was thinking about tips that Jay was giving at NYFA, and either yesterday or when I woke up or something, I realized my clipper placements on each side were different. My flip one, probably by some awkward fluke, had the better clipper placement. Once I applied that to what I consider my strong furious, it felt so much better. I'm still having trouble getting the right placement midstring though.
I should get the bsos soon though, hopefully. Although, every time I say that, I jinx myself. After I first hit superfly bs, I said that bsos was soon to be certain, but I've stopped trying symp double downs for a bit lol. Go figure. But, I think I'll stick with ending my sessions with furious....hopefully. THat's the plan.
Pennsylvania tomorrow!

Yeah, I've sucking lately. Filmed on friday while kicking with Corey Rich. I'm posting the video to remind myself of how much I need to practice. I kinda feel like if I don't see it, I won't take it to heart. So...here it is lol. I still want to make a legit video soon though. Once I suck less, that is. Getting out of the slump would suffice though. Just gotta drill for a while again.

I really need to hit rubberman twice through.

I think I just had the session I needed. Did a bunch of drills.
Highlights:
- stepping clipper > sidewalk > ripwalk > rpt x2.5
- stepping whirl > sidewalk > ripwalk > rpt
- dyno > gyro something and blender > gyro something both bsos (this was actually pretty legit for me. suck at dyno lol)
- DDD bsos (also cool, cause if I suck at dyno, I really suck at ddd. but, I think I got it figured out to an extent)
- plasticman
- barfly x4 (gotta start trying to catch up to some people
)
- torque almost double bsos first try lol. I suck at these too. got the 4th torque first try after dropping
But yeah, I really enjoyed this session. Got all the goals I set at the beginning.

Props, John. Some great drills there. What's Plasticman? Also, try this drill I came up with and hit the other day (I probably didn't come up with it, but I have no knowledge of this already being a drill... Either way, it's a nice one.)
