I think I know exactly how you feel, all of my so called "friends" act like dicks all the time, I'm pretty much convinced that there are no genuine kind people at my school, I hate my highschools social aspects. :(

Com'on Ben, you will be good again :) , you have only been playing for like less than 2 years and had a bad accident and your still an amazing footbag player, don't expect too much from yourself, I am confident in your abilities that you will be a very good footbag player again if you are'nt already.

I had another session today and it went well. I worked on the swirl drill swirl>rev swirl>rpt on other side. Earlier today I was having some serious problems with this. Not anymore.
Duck osis>blink bsos
zigzag one sided (FUCK!)
some records for the list
ducking far swirl
ANd
I dont know if these have been hit before but
rev swirling symp mirage
rev swirling pogo dbl leg over
rev swirling frontside downtime ripwalk
? Maybe this could be seen as rev swirling, oh wait no. I stand alone.

4 dex? Kick ass!

You're like, way good at footbag.

How many 4 dexes have you hit?

I had another session that went Really good. I played nonstop for a few hours or so and it pretty much put my dick in the dirt. SO basically to recap today-\
-Played footbag and surfed modified all day long.
-Shredded until I couldnt go anymore (a few times)
-was pretty hardcore overall.
-Watched tons of footbag videos.

Oh ya, there was some shuffle in there too

You described it as rev swirling pogo DLO. Pogo is symple steppingimplies you hit rev swirling frontside Haze (rev swirling symple stepping SS DLO). In fact you hit rev swirling Nova (symp DLO). Stepping does not get the symposium add, but DLOs do. Both are 5 ADD tricks, one is a non-symp quad dex, the other is a beta 3-dex. Enough semantics.

Ben stop worrying about how good you used to be before the injury. From what it sounds like you are still damn good now. Did I ever tell you I dislocated my hip when I was 16? I also bruised up the other one pretty bad, both on a skateboard. When I started playing freestyle at the ripe old age of 23 it came back to haunt me when I started learning butterflies. I almost thought for a while I could never get good because of this pain in my hips that wouldn't go away. I almost gave up on footbag altogether. Well I did hip stretches and after a month or so, my hip flexors got strong and loose enough that I no longer got the pain.

Whatever roadblock you are facing, you have the power to take it over. You are naturally talented at footbag this is true. There are guys, including me who will need to put in twice as many hours of practice to get as good as you. The Ancient Greeks had a motto "Calepa Ta Kala" which depeding on how you translate it can mean "Nothing without labor" or "That which is worthwhile is difficult to achieve". That is footbag. It is hardwork, and it is difficult to achieve. If it weren't, it wouldn't be so awesome.

Keep playing. Enjoy yourself. Host a damn Oklahoma tournament for crying outloud, shit I'll come if you do. Keep playing lots and lots. Invent new tricks. Be the first guy to hit triple reverse swirl. Go nuts. Don't worry about what Vasek or Clavens or Lon is hitting. Just tear it up and have fun. Hopefully we'll shred together again before Worlds this summer.

Aside from just shredding today I mostly worked flipside dod. I still havent hit one yet. I also hit a gyro blazing clipper. By the time i figured that out my hip was already aching so I quit.

Ben stop worrying about how good you used to be before the injury.

I dont care how good I was I care that I cant do alot of my favorite tricks now and even the simplest tricks are painful. On the other hand I have tons of time to work parts of my game that wouldnt have otherwise gotten worked 8) Im really close to flipside barfly!

Lets see
I havent played in a day, but the day before that I worked my pixie shuffle hardcore. I was hittin stuff like
smear>pixie mirage repeat
smear>pixie legover repeat
magellan>smear>pixxie legover (or mirage)>rpt
i threw ikn a parkwalk and some dimwalks too + atomic and quantum on one side. Legovers can be really painful for me if im leaning back at all! This is why I havent played any footbag in a day + skipping today which is sac-religious for me! I love footbag so much! Ive got a Clavens bag on the way as soon as he recieves my check I assume! Im really excited about that. David is one of my heroes. Most of my time these days is devoted to getting better at footbag even if im not playing. Because of this I study footbag videos almost all day every day. Im especially fond of watching Vasek, David Clavens, Penske, moir, and Lon Smith (or Luis).

The other day someone called me a fanboy because I like to watch videos of or talk to my favorite footbag players. That pissed me off so much :x Im not a fanboy, Im a man who Loves footbag and works tirelessly to bring this art to life. Of course Im gonna watch excellent shredders, they give birth to the most beautiful form of art and I'm gonna kill them all!

no matter how alone you feel in your mind, you are never actually alone. there are a lot of people that care about you... just sometimes its hard to see.

i have hip problems too... and im sure i will be replacing them when im old. they actually "click" when i walk sometimes... kinda gross. just do stretches and that will help in the long run.

chin up, kid-o
