I definitely agree that a world championship winner is not necessary, the best player in the World.
I remember that I asked Vasek this year on Todexon if he feels that year after year it's harder for him to defend the title. He said: "Of course, there are VERY good players out there but, fortunately for me their are not so good in competition."
IMO even Vasek don't think he is the best player in the world, he just knows that he is the best player in competition till now.
If a player on any sport wins a championship, he is a champion. If the sport is called World championship of X, than he is the World Champion of X.
The question here is to define the better category for the Main Event. IMO routines are a little bit boring, but it's for me the best category to be the Main Event and to determine the: World Champion of Footbag Freestyle. I think routines are the best way to show the BEST CONSISTENT game of each player. For example, let's say a group of X players are going to compete, suppose all of them can hit or hit at least one time the exactly same tricks in their footbag "careers". The player that can put more difficult tricks and synchronize them with the music with less drops in his routine, would be the best player of them all because, even knowing the exact same tricks of the other players, he is the one who can play them the most consistent and solid way.
My point is, a lot of players can hit a lot of hard tricks alone, but only the best ones can hit those in a very consistent way in a presentation routine.
I know my english is not as good as I would like but, I did my best to express my opinion. Hope you understand all that I mean (for me it makes a lot of sense
