Damn I prematurely missed the second run. Any more disrespect and I might have puked.

Whats even more sad is I was watching with a friend who doesn't play, and he didn't seem impressed at all. Its just too fast for non-players to even know whats going on.

There was a short segment right before a commercial break where they showed a barfly in slow motion. That's the kind of stuff that needs to be on TV. The masses probably couldn't even understand his strings. Good stuff though Vasek.

Steve Goldberg E-mail wrote:Folks,

Success! Vasek performed tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check
your listings) tonight -- Thursday, August 30th.

Despite problems with his ankle, Vasek was able to perform very well!
He got several segments and even a nice slow-mo segment just after
the first break.

The rest of the show is great, but you don't need to waste your time
watching it if you're only interested in the footbag -- after the
slow-mo segment on the return from the first commercial break,
there's no more footbag in it. (They wanted to fit it in and asked
Vasek to stand at the ready, but they just couldn't find a good time
for it.)

All in all, the show treated us very well, and I'm happy with the
results. Vasek's an amazing professional, and did a great job.

Please everyone don't get mad at George Lopez for his bad jokes about
"hacky sack" -- both Vasek and I were rolling on the floor laughing.
:-) (It's just after Vasek's last demo.)

Also, if you look closely you may see me in the audience. I'm in the
second row right next to the band.

Anyway, just wanted to make sure everyone knew it went off without a
hitch and hopefully this will do good things for footbag. There was
much sacrifice on both Vasek's and my part to make this happen. I
want to thank you all for your support, Vasek for being such a
trooper, and the kind folks at ABC/Disney who kept their word and
made this a great opportunity for us.

Now, to sleep before flying home in time to work (oh yeah, I have a
day job!) tomorrow, and then Saturday's extremely early flight to
Harrisburg. See many of you there! (Vasek will be at Funtastik in
case you haven't heard, and he plans to compete assuming his ankle
lets him.)

Thanks.

Steve
Can't wait to see it, 10 more minutes left!

Ha ha. "It's like soccer for kids with no friends." I thought that was pretty funny.

Jimmy obviously hasn't seen anyone's old lavers or else he would know that hacky snacks are a BAAAD idea.

Awesome job Vasek! Way to represent! Thanks Steve for coordinating all this.

Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

I did the same.

I told them bad things would happen if Jimmy (motherfucker) didn't deliver a heartfelt apology to all of us here on modified.

Steve Goldberg just sent out an email where he asks us to try and disregard Lopez's statements. I have only seen the one demo so far, and only came across one at least mildly offensive statement by Jimmy. I think we should just take this in stride since the big man (Steve) wants us to. He helped make these opportunities and if he is pleased with the result I would just respect his wishes.

Vasek is the man.

Yeah I would also suggest that we turn a deaf ear to any negative comments. This was good exposure for the sport and if ABC gets complaints they may decide its not worth it in the future.

I thought it was good. Jimmy seemed stroked on it and wouldn't stop talking about it to George dooshpez. I didn't think they made fun of it that bad, couple laughs. Vasek did an awesome job and didn't go easy. Props for that.

Jimmy Kimmel did seem all into it. George Lopez did have a fascination for homosexuality and bad jokes. Hopefully bad publicity = good publicity.

Mexicans too busy working to play hacky sack?? What about soccer puto?

Nice job. The slow-mo barfly was enough to make me happy.

Good to see that a studio audience can applaud footbag in LA.

In his defense, George Lopez is a comedian... It's his job to make fun of people and make people laugh. Footbag just happened to be the topic of the moment for him to exploit.

Vasek was awesome! I thought lopez was fine, he was just trying to make jokes during his long ass interview. I kept looking up between watching aarons world footage and going is this guy still on? I don't think he really said anything that terrible about footbag, his jokes just werent funny. He should have at least said how cool it was though after making all those jokes. Anyone catch jimmy kimmel say "How that's not in the olympics I have no idea." He may have been joking but that was still cool.

Thank you to Steve and Vasek for giving footbag more exposure.
