eating-out choices overwhelming
Fine, I'll take one on. You suggested your beating heart is unhealthy. First should we define unhealthy?
unhealthy –adjective, -health·i·er, -health·i·est.
1. not in a state of good or normal health; in an unsound, weak, or morbid condition.
2. symptomatic of or resulting from bad health: an unhealthy pallor.
3. not conducive to good health; unhealthful: Night air was formerly considered unhealthy.
4. morally bad, harmful, or contaminating: unhealthy examples for the young.
5. dangerous; risky: Asking questions in this neighborhood can be unhealthy.
I would say number 3 is the one that fits what we're talking about best. "not conducive to good health". I would say trans fats and fast food are considered unhealthy, or, not conducive to good health. Your example, that a beating heart is unhealthy is faulty simply by the definition of unhealthy. Something that sustains you're life can't be not conducive to good health.
Might you argue that food sustains our life? I think you might so I'll prepare a counter.
If we had a chose between a mechanical heart that lasted longer as opposed to a real heart and we chose the real heart, wouldn't that be an unhealthy decision? Well, we've got food that sustains our life and health better than fast food, so that other food is the healthy choice, making fast food unhealthy, not conducive to good health.

Precisely. So choosing to have a real heart is an unhealthy decision. You're not breaking any new ground here. And this isn't a word game. High school kids, play these word games. There's a difference between what someone is saying, and what the technical meaning of their words are saying. This isn't a college paper, this is a conversation between people.

Fast food eaters=Successful people?
Hahaha.
I still don't get it though, do you understand that a beating heart isn't unhealthy?
Also, respirator, assuming it contains air as opposed to oxygen, cuz you don't wanna be oxygen high all the time, probably would be healthier, however the idea of using a respirator for health benefits as opposed to breathing air is pretty absurd in comparison to simply not eating fast food.

All this seems like a big load of nonsense and is getting nowhere at a very fast pace.Switch Kicker wrote:And breathing. Breathing is unhealthy due to our hideous atmosphere. Solution: Get a portable respirator. Your logic is incredibly flawed.
Sounds pretty impractical, doesn't it? Well for some people, not eating fast food, is very impractical. What are those people called again? Oh yeah, successful.
Your saying that breathing is unhealthy due to the air being polluted. Well I am sorry to make this sound maybe unlogical to you but in that case it is not the breathing that is unhealthy but the air you are breathing in.
The opposite of breathing would be not breathing. The way you are describing breathing you would consider not breathing, the obvious opposite, to be healthy. I hope you understand that not breathing would lead to your death. Death being the worst case of unhealthiness I could come up with.
Same goes for your statement with living being unhealthy due to your heart beating and it causing the tissue to wear down. The opposite of heart beating would be not beating and that would also lead to your immediate death.
I consider both scenarios quite unhealthy. And I bet that everyone here except you switch kicker can agree on this.
Counter?
I bet you could even do it in a very odd and paradox way.

yeah, obviously this is a question of healthy and healthier, or unhealthy and unhealthier, not of healthy and unhealthy. breathing the air in our world before factories, cars, and other pollutants were invented, but thats not possible. breathing our currently polluted air, breathing only through a portable respirator, and not breathing at all would all be varying degrees of unhealthy, obviously. just as eating only fast food, eating fast food occasionally but not enough supplemental fruits and vegetables, or eating no fast food and not eating enough fruits, vegetables, proteins etc would all be varying degrees of unhealthy.
fast food provides you with typically protein, some starch in the roll and fries, but obviously doesnt ADD to your health other than that, ie, there are so many other things that DO add more to your health that makes fast food closer to unhealthy than healthy.

Yes that is very true. The different degrees of unhealthy or healthy are disappearing in the fog of war here, I totally agree.
But for example partly based on what Jeremy was saying about trans fats being healthy and what Switch Kicker countered "anything can be unhealthy" well it is a huge difference once again.
Trans fats should not be eaten at all and other things like vitamins don't get unhealthy until you overdose on them. Thats when the actual bad effects come into play.. like almost all things if you over do it you end up paying the piper. Alcohol as an example can be quite healthy if only consumed at a very minimal e.g. one glas of wine at dinner but once you make a habit of drinking 3, 4, 5+ glases of wine it becomes unhealthy because the health aspect you were getting is smuthered by the side effects to your liver.
Same goes for things like Vitamin D enhanced Milk can cause problems with the functioning of muscles or even heart tissue.
Almost all vitamins have a double edged sword if you over do it.
So consuming proteins and carbs (except bad things like trans fats) coming from fast food might not be as unhealthy but the one sided diet definitely is.
So there is a huge difference between having something that is unhealthy the second you put it in your mouth and things that are unhealthy once you make a habit of eating them too much.
Oh and to make this clear I don't really eat out as much as it might seem. Today I had Sauerkraut, potatoes, pork and some straight not even cooked cauliflower and broccoli.. I love uncooked vegetables!

No. Many "successful" people, meaning "busy" people, don't have time to make healthier choices, and therefore the only practical choice for them is fast food at the time.Pirate Man wrote:Fast food eaters=Successful people?
And yes, the tank would have a clean and proper mix of air in it. Not pure oxygen.
I was not suggesting the opposite of a "beating heart" (no beating heart), and I wasn't suggesting the opposite of breathing (not breathing). I was suggesting what would "technically" be "healthier" choices, which is what this topic seems to be about. At least that's what it looks to be about to me. And my argument is defending the fact that it's simply impractical to make such so-called "healthier" choices. A beating heart, whether you need it to live or not, is still unhealthy to some degree, and breathing our air, though required to live, is still unhealthy. And eating food, whether fast food, or normal food, is required to live as well, however it can be unhealthy. The fact of the matter is, for a lot of people, these so-called unhealthy choices are simply impractical. And it's ignorant to say that other such things (such as the friction are your cardiac muscles, or the pulluted air) is unhealthy overall to breath.

the topic WAS NOT about what would "technically" be "healthier"
you made it about that because you realized you were starting to look pretty incorrect the way the argumant was originally going, so you decided to make it about semantics, and technical definitions, and generally confuse the topic so you would SEEM less incorrect.
in your most recent post (the one just above this one) you clarified the broad, seemingly incorrect statements you made about the healthiness of breathing and of your heart continuing to beat, in another attempt to make yourself appear more correct.
i highly doubt your pathetic performance convinced anyone of anything except of your overwhelming desire to be both immature and correct.

I didn't start this argument, so that comment must not be directed at me.slapdash21 wrote:the topic WAS NOT about what would "technically" be "healthier"
Are you suggesting that I have any control over this argument at all? And even if such "pathetic techniques" were used, how do you think Jeremy get his "points" across so fucking well? He's a manipulative piece of shit. Not manipulative of information, but of what other people say.slapdash21 wrote:you made it about that because you realized you were starting to look pretty incorrect the way the argumant was originally going, so you decided to make it about semantics
I haven't listed any definitions, but Pirate has. So go bitch at him for that, fool.slapdash21 wrote:and technical definitions
The rest of your post was generally boring, and I didn't find anything worth arguing about (most of it was wrong anyway), so I didn't bother quoting the rest. But, now that I think about it, who would want to be immature? That's like you're parents telling you that you wanted to fail a class, or that you wanted to get a DWI. You have a really vague idea of what real immaturity is, if you think this is immature.

This is how the argument started off in the first place.. probably that statement "...perfectly healthy."Switch Kicker wrote:There's nothing wrong with fast food. It's a great idea, that is perfectly healthy. There's something wrong with fast food customers.
I don't find Jeremy at all manipulative. I read his posts take them for what they are and thats it. He likes to prove people wrong when he thinks they are wrong and thats ok.
This thing about healthy, healthier, unhealthy, unhealthier isn't worth my time anymore.
Switch kicker just comes back and says.. I never said that when you obviously did. I didn't start this when you obviously sort of did by saying what you said. Did people have to make a comment on what Switch Kicker said? Probably not. But they did and thats ok.
Living is unhealthy and breathing is, too. fine. Want to think that way about it be my guest.

... lol ... there isn't a pussy out there that would have a natural smell of fish. I think a fishy smell comes from a protein loaded liquid by the opposite sex (opposite to fem ^^).
But pussy can be nasty wow... like if shes in her period and leaves that tampon in there overnight or just way too long. yuck!
All you girls out there... don't let your pussy smell bad, please! thx for being considerate. I wash my lizard alot ^^ ..and I like pineapple! ..alot! ..yeah you heard me.. pineapple!

Period? Come on man... I won't even grope around down there during that week. I'm just glad all the girls I've gone out with bother to keep up high maintenance. I rue the day I have the misfortune of being with a "scrub."Wu_ wrote:... lol ... there isn't a pussy out there that would have a natural smell of fish. For some reason, this reminds me of that song by Del, "If You Must." You gotta wash you ass, if you must, you gotta brush your teeth, if you must, you gotta wash your hair, if you must, or else you'll be FUNKAAAAAYY. lol
People in general should just keep themselves clean damnit. We don't need mandatory vaccines, we need mandatory showers, lol. Some kids at school are just fuckin' crusty... It's disgusting.
