Hey cool. It'd be wicked to see you again, Mike!
And yeah, slurpees are one of the things we are pathetically proud about. That and it being really cold. And continuing to drink slurpees in the really cold...

that and the fact that we are the murder, arson, car theft, and child poverty capital of Canada...

WELCOME TO THE THUNDER-DOME BITCHES!!!!

please keep arms and legs inside your vehicle at all times, lock your doors, and don't give matches to poor kids while you're attending hackrifice.

expect updates in the next couple weeks.

So do Winnipegeans consume more Slurpies per capita than the rest of the world, or are your Slurpies better than ours? Bah it doesn't matter.
Slush Puppies FTW!

But I think Icees beat them all. Blue & red mmmmmmixed.

Haha Erik- I did think it was funny that yo city consumes so many Slurpees, since it's "Winterpeg" and all. :P

Slurpees here really do suck... I better get a damn good one there, preferably right after shred.
I'm hoping it doesn't snow that weekend. :P

2 litres of Slurpee in a gigantic red, plastic cup: Derek Vandall's after-shred drink of choice.

Brain freeze is when the roof of your mouth gets too cold. Press your tongue against that area and it will dissipate supa fast.

hahahahaha. Good to know.

I must correct this though- sorry if my photos threw people off- it will be SLURPEES we will be enjoying in Winnipeg, not Slush Puppies.

haha shit.... Sorry to get this SO completely off track.

Soooooo HACKRIFICE 10! Woooooo!

Is it silly to be excited already?

I've been wanting to go to Hackrifice for the longest time. When Paul Toews went in '03 he wouldn't stop talking about how awesome of a time it was and I so desperately wanted to come see what all the hype was about. I mean, the site and vids and modified and everything of course let me know, but I wanted to actually meet & kick with the amazing and talented Erik Chan, hang with his family and his turtles, watch Friends with them ("We watch Friends in this house"), party down at your infamous shindigs, and see Vandall play in person. Paul had pm'd me while there:
I'm still in Winnipeg. I will be here till tuesday at 1:00pm. It was and is Sick.

Derek Vandall is so fucking Bomb! he hits everything :?
Luckily I got to meet Derek at Worlds in Montreal -wow-, but I didn't get to meet Erik until years later. What a treat! I feel honoured that we got to see a lot more of him when he lived here. And then throw Andrew Grant on top of it all... And now Manna! Shiiiiiiit.... Why do you guys have to be so wonderful?

So now I just have to come there and see you all at the same time haha. Winnipeg seems beautiful, despite all the terrible stats Andrew just threw at us. :P

......enough hype?

I wait for each day to end until Hackrifice 10 finally arrives in mid-September. I dream of stepping on Canadian soil again!

Definitely not enough hype! :P 8)

Second generation Hackrifice, circa 7 years ago @______@
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/7341

And the video that put Hackrifice on the map, circa 2002 (a little a la James Risden on the old Footbag.org mailing list (pre-Modified (what? There was footbag before Modified??))):

OH MAN!! I can't wait for September!

I was approached by a reporter yesterday while I was shredding at the Legislative building and mentioned that I was getting prepared for Hackrifice. He took some pictures and jotted down a few notes, so Hackrifice 10 may get some Northern Exposure in News/North Nunavut.

He also mentioned that he will tell the sports columnist about me and we will see what happens. It will be so great for more exposure.

Jeez... you guys are hard to please. ;)

Yeah I don't really know much about the past Hackrifice members. Do any of them still play?

And I'm really lookin forward to meeting Jess, I hope she's healing alright.

...a little a la James Risden...
Awwww. That name is not mentioned enough... those were the days... Exactly when was modified introduced? Cuz when I first learned about footbag (2 years before I even started shredding) I'm pretty sure all we had was the vids on .org and the VHS films we ordered. Bags = big floppy faciles from world footbag. haha.

It's kinda funny to see your site listed as a geocities page in that vid. :P

p.s. Manna- I'm SO super jealous. It's really hot right now too.

Cheapest I've found so far is $710. This might change things a bit

And I thought Edmonton took over as the new murder capital...
