That's the approach I'm taking. I want to get to my ideal weight before I start really focusing on the Shred.HXCFOOTBAG wrote: when i get to onederland i think i'll be able to be much more consistent.. which i think i'm going to focus on now rather than all my focus on becoming a better shredder.... becoming a lean mean machine will certainly contribute to becoming a sick shredder in the long run than trying to become a morbidly obese good shredder. Power 90: Day 74... Sweat 5-6/Ab Ripper 200
Alright, so somehow in my online recordings of my workout I got mixed up with what day I was on for P90 and ended up saying I was like 5 days ahead. But my spread sheet trackers that I've been more diligent with, and that has a Date listed for each day shoes that Today really was day 74, dot the 81 my online posts would have shown. Weird, but in my mind I knew I had 2 and a half weeks left anyways so this doesn't dampen my spirits in the least. OK, my workout: It was good. It feels like there is a lot of warm up and cool down in Sweat 5-6. Just as I'm really getting into the work out, Tony says "that's it! Time to cool down." And I think "What? Really? That was easy!" And I'm still pushing hard and sweating. Getting air born on the kicks and all. I love it. AR200 was great too. Feel the burn!

So, Nick Landes is in town here... and i've been out of the game for years and I'm quite overweight. I'd like to shred with him yet i feel like i might be wasting his time since we are in two totally different leagues. how would you feel about this situation if it was you when you were bigger? anyway, I've tried to get ahold of him.
Power 90: Day 75
Sculpt 5-6
Another good workout. I think I might be sweating more on the sculpt days than the sweat days! All the push ups in 5-6 are crazy. I like the variety. And I might have jumped the gun on saying that I wished for Max Push Ups. I wanted max push ups because I have a goal of hitting 100 push ups in a row and I figured that max would get me there faster, but upon further thought the push ups that force me to work different parts of my arms might get me there faster. Either way, I happy with these ones. They are tough, but I like it. Also the side split leg push up like things are crazy hard for me. Same with the sphinx push ups. Oh ya, I tried to keep my weight up as much as possible after taking it easy for first go of 5-6 on Friday. I think I might need some higher weights again. Could get to 15 with quite a few of the moves with my 15 lb weights. Keep pushing!!

Sounds like Awesome times!! I love learning from better players than me. It's a while since I got to shred with anyone.
Oh ya, thanks for the props on the clippers. I'm trying to get to Ken's challenge of 64.
Anyways...
Power 90: Day 76
Sweat 5-6/Ab Ripper 200
Rocked it again. No modifications and I'm really exploding up with the jump kicks. Fun! Tomorrow is rest day, but I want to try and get up early to do X Stretch. Need to get ready for P90X!

62 alternating clippers:!:
Almost bitter sweet, since I dropped 2 short of a challenge, but this always seems to happen. I get close, get excited that I'm gonna make it and then drop. I tried hard to fight through it and made one nice save on 60, but then lost it on a stupid roll off. I'll get it soon though.
dimwalk>illusion bs this time.
That is all.

Power 90: Day 78
Sculpt 5-6
Great workout this morning. I think I sweated more that in the last weeks. I had trouble on push ups and downward dog because my shoes kept slipping. Kinda gross, but in a good way. I only used the 8 lb dumbbells for reverse grip tricep extensions. Everything else was 10s and 15s. I need heavier weights. I can pump out 15+ for a few of the exercises with 15lb weights.

so, tell me about the ten minute trainer just in case I want to follow your example. what is it, where do i find it? how much is it? etc?
Dude, Nick showed me SO MUCH when it comes to proper form... EVEN on the absolute basic of basic movements for basic moves. it makes me want to seriously just learn the basics OVER... and do 100 of them everyday.
toe stalls, clipper stalls, mirages, legovers, illusions and pickups... just totally own them with proper form. forget everything else until i am the master of all of them
it was a good time.

Paul, Ten Minute Trainer is a Workout Video from Beach Body featuring Tony Horton. It's a series of workouts that take 10 minutes. You can find it at Wal Mart or www.beachbody.com. It costs about $90 (or at least last time I looked it did) and comes with resistance bands. I did 3 of the workouts every day for 4 months to start my journey. Actually, that's a lie. I did one workout 3 dayts a week, followed by a footbag session. The short workouts are nice because they leave with time to shred.
Footbag at lunch right now...
68 ALTERNATING CLIPPERS!!!!!!! next stop: 100
spinning clip>ducking clip rpt
dimwalk>p illusion rpt
Ya, happy with those. I too need to drill the basics more. I'm not sure why I don't. I generally get one thing in mind and just do that. Or a few things in mind. But I seldom master anything. /sigh

GREAT JOB. 68 alt clippers is a fucking awesome number. You'll be at 100 in no time. Remember to breathe while you're doing them.... so important. It's too easy to hold your breathe during intense footbag feats like that.... you must resist.
Another tip: Next session, do as many as you possibly can, then when you drop... ANALYZE that drop. Why did you drop it? Was it a motion error? Was your foot in the right spot? Did you not give in enough? maybe give in too quickly or not quick enough? Analyze everything about the drop. HATE that moment when you dropped. Treat is as the worst thing ever, but learn everything you can from it. After you analyze the drop to a great extent, RECREATE the drop, and how you dropped it as many times as you possibly can. If it's an error in foot placement, place your foot in the exact spot you did when you dropped it and drop it again and again and again. Teach your foot how to recreate that drop as many times as possible. Then after you're satisfied with the duplicated drops, your muscle memory will know exactly how to drop the bag that way every time. Now, time to correct it... Teach your leg to NEVER do that motion that you just got so used to replicating... EVER AGAIN. Try them again, and I think you will see better results. Yep, sounds crazy, but it works. This is how I've been setting my tiltless records recently.
The "replication" tip will help with consistency while not dropping the bag. This tip will help with agility... When you've completely gone as long as you can, and you know you're too tired to keep going... Restart. Trick your mind into "restarting your run". So say i'm shredding madd tiltless right now and I get to 50, I feel myself running out of breathe, getting tired, legs start to ache a bit... This is my thought process... "...49-50(gears clink around in my head...)"You're not tired, you're just restarting the run right now..)-51 (but I actually feel like I'm at 1 again)-52-53 etc... Again, trust me, this has been working for me.
You're very dedicated person, Tony. I can see it in your weight loss program. I think you're going to be able to put this toward learning footbag really well down the road. It's already showing in the consecutive clippers. I'm excited for you with what you're doing. I think it's so fucking rad that you're still on the weight loss program and you haven't given up hope... And I don't think you're going to give-up any time soon. Keep at it man. I believe in you.

Nick thanks for the words. Some I know some are from Vasek, such a great read. I should read it again actually. The stuff about resetting is interesting and I've never thought about it before. I shall think on it and attempt to implement. Again, thanks for the advice!
Playing at lunch again. And should be for the next couple weeks for sure. Nice to feel some momentum instead of making advances and then not playing for a week.
Ripwalk. OUT OF NOWHERE!!!!
Flip Ripwalk. Wait, what?? I've never hit that before and boom.
Stepping clipper both sides. This weird. I don't step...
Blurry whirl (strong whirl)
That might have been the weirdest session I've had in a while. I could never step well. I hit a few fluke ones ages ago, but not since my comeback. I just pretended to air shred a ripwalk but I started with the bag on my foot... I know that doesn't make sense, but it does to me. And I was close, so I tried again and two tries later I had it. Then I just kept going. Blurry Whirl has been a dream trick of mine, so I was stoked when I hit it and my coworker eater her lunch in the room looked up quizzically. I said, sorry I just hit something new. Dropped the bag to my foot and hit it again and said And it wasn't even a fluke! Anyways, I'm stoked on these new developments.

Great job on hitting that many clippers. I don't think I can do that many...should give it a try.
Instead of counting up, increase your goal slightly, then count down on the numbers. For example, if you're going for 64 clippers, start counting from say 70, then count down from there (69, 68, 67, ...)
This way, your mind won't feel the pressure of getting to your goal, as you're not used to thinking of 0 (or in this case, 5) as a high-pressure goal to reach.
I think this works because when you're counting normal, your mind realizes that it's close to your goal, and you subconsciously say "oh shit...I'm almost there...better not drop". But just that extra tension is enough to take your focus away, and of course, you end up dropping. By taking that pressure away, you can often do better as you focus more on the moves than on the goal.
Of course, I only use this when I notice my mind is preventing me from reaching the goal. If it's your body (stamina, bad form, etc.), then counting backwards won't do any good.
Here's a tip that helps me when I'm going for numbers and drop whenever I'm close to a goal.sen wrote:Shred at Lunch:

Looks to me that you dosen wrote: I don't step...
A tip for stepping: Don't hit any more ripwalks or blurs or whatever until you can hit stepping ss clipper x3 bs. Ripwalks/Blurs/Stepping Osis/etc are all a no no right now until you can hit stepping clipper> stepping clipper> stepping clipper bs. This will help your stepping game in the future so much. Bob Riefer suggested that to me when I hit my first ripwalk and I'm so thankful I listened to him.
Oh and Blurry Whirl for your first time doing stepping
Keep it up dude
