Nic, if you need someone to play with, you know where to find me :).

The last years have been pretty calm in montreal for freestyle footbag. Ianek and Seb have been injuried for a least 6 month. Mat Gauhteir moved out from the town. I had no news of James.

At least, now since 2 or 3 month we play 2 or 3 times a week together with Seb, Sam, James, Ianek and me. It's pretty cool.

Oh and, yesterday Seb hit triple around the wolrd like... 2nd try? He is too good.

I completely forgot about this ol' thing! And also how COOL Montreal hacky slackers are. So it's time to pump, pump it up, pump the jam, jam the toast, toast to boast, bout our MAD WICKED SKILLZ

Nicky Diamondz is back in bidness making carbon his bitch, Jimmy James is fresher than yo' momma's tomato garden, Mr. Montpetit sweeps the girls off their feet, Seb likes long walks on the beach...uhh I mean he'll cause distress for coastal cities
I've run out of interesting things to say so the rest of you can come up with your own zany one-liners.

In any case it doesn't seem like very many people are coming to MSJ, but that's ok, FUN WILL BE HAD

and shred is not dead in Montreal.

Shout outs and props to all the Montreal (and Montreal area) players, FO SHIZZ, BILEEDAT

Caro is in town this week.

We had a session yeastery with Seb, Ianek, Sam, Marc, Caro and me.

Caro is still so good, nice to see her shred.
Seb.... Well this is Seb, there is nothing else to say. Every session this dude hit something i couldn't even imagine.
So cool to see that Ianek is back from is injury. He doesn't seems to be so rusty.
Marc... he should play more. He has an awsome style, we so many surprising spinning combo. YOU MUST PLAY MORE OFTEN.
And me hu, ie hitted my usual stuff. I was surprised to hit blurry torque first try mid string. I havn'T try this move for ... a year?

It was fun :). Hope we can have more session like that this summer!

I don't have any footblog, so i will use this as a footblog :). MAybe we will make the topic revive!

1 hour session.

I mostly drilled :
Rip walk - blur - pixie same clipper - RPT
Blur - Smear - Dimwalk - RPT
Whirl - PDX whirl - rpt
Spinning clipper - ducking clipper - RPT.

I felt really good today. The control was super good flip pixie was on and i could hit all my usual stuff easily :).

So by kicking every other day, what I meant was, whenever convenient. The weekend was, well, it's own thing, and now I'm looking outside at 7:50am deciding if I want to go kick or not. Hmmm.. gonna be 33, which is something like 600 Fahrenheit, but it's 20 right now... argh decisions decisions!

No coffee yet though.. running out of fuel... must.. replenish...

Ended up kicking for about 15-20 minutes, nothing much, but it felt good once more to stretch some muscles that sorely needed stretching, and to work on bending my support leg.

My flipside, or shall I say, primary support leg, is noticeably weaker then my other leg, so it's going to be a month or so before I really see the difference with all little exercises that I've come up with for myself... man it'll be nice to have it pay off though, and be able to easily do flip poundy moves like ps whatever and supaflys and all that jazz. And you know, things are different these days... I remember when gravity used to be at a lower setting, it made things a lot easier..

I'm looking forward to having Suderman crash for a week to steal some of his techniques and bite his style a bit... his style NEEDS to be bitten, it's too good!

Next kicking day, if all goes well: Tomorrow morning. 8:00am SHARP.

It's 8:14 am and I'm enjoying a low fat yogurt and banana for breakfast.. what kind of a wuss am I turning in to?!

I TRUMPED my previous mission by going out at 7:30am and kicking solidly for half an hour, which is not so easy with the intense heat we're getting. Or did the heat intensify just because I kicked... I wonder. Regardless, it was a tough session, full of reality. Luckily I kept my cool and worked hard on flip stuff, did something like 100 flip toe stalls in a row. I noticed that my left foot has a tendency of not being exactly straight. I'm not sure the term, but as if an airplane was rolled slightly to one side. I manually worked on correcting it, and then some magical things started to happen:

First, a rainbow came out

Then, the bag landed on the SWEET SPOT of my FLIP TOE!

WOW!

I didn't know I HAD a sweet spot there!

Did some flip torques, flip double ATW\s, all of it very ugly but at least they landed.

Everything on my strong side still feels good, so I know it's just a matter of getting back into shape, or changing shape I should say, from this slight potatoe-esque typ of shape to something more vectorial.

On the music side, my studio is getting really hooked up. I had landed a HUGE job (7 adds) and Bailey as well, so it's been really nice to not only catch up on overdue money stuff but to invest in the house and watch it grow... I kinda feel like I'm at home now, and I haven't really felt that way in a while.

Till next time...

Same BAP place...

Same BAP time...

Next kick: Tom

We had a small session today. Seb, François and I.

The weather was so hardcore... like 104 farenheit -_-. After an hour we were just dead...

Not so many people know François. This dude can do so many things... Today he footed whirling pdx drifter... lol. He hit so many moves that i could not even name. Like nucelar gyro mirage? Something like that. If this guy start to drill a little bit one day, he will be incredible...

For my part, it was not my best session. Drilled a little bit. Blur-Smear-Dimwalk-RPT. Ducking clipper whirl-rpt. Spinning clipper-ducking clipper-rpt. I hit most on this drill first time today, wich is cool. I also did blurry drifter-PS whirl. Cool link!

We hope it will be cooler outside next session haha!

By the way, montreal spring jam is coming! We want more people! So YOU must come ;).

Good lookin' Asmus.

So, I PRETENDED to kick today, I figured that's good enough. Excuses: Kinda sick, no sleep, (our schedules are just hell these days), kicking tomorrow with the lady, BUT mainly I downloaded Omnisphere (shhhh).

What is Omnisphere? Only the raddest baddest synth out these these days. The sounds are so incredible, they must be mine.. my precious. Fuckin 6 dual-layer dvds take forever to download and install though, but I'll persevere because I'm BAP, and, you know, that's just what we do.

On a separate rant that's related, I get a lot of flack from you kickers for me not kicking much. While it's nice, and I get it, it's just that footbag doesn't go anywhere in the end, and it's sooo frustrating. It's also difficult to juggle full time career type job with full time relationship with full time music as well.

You could say time gets filled fast. Until it's full.

God I'm so smarmy I hate myself reading this post so I'll end it here.

GO MONTREAL!!!

It's 6:13am.

I haven't kicked in a few days - I just can't do it, there's not enough time in 24 hours. I'm kinda jealous of all you kids with your free time and part-time jobs and/or school... shit gets hectic quick!

Suderman is dropping in tonight, we got the MSJ coming up this weekend which will be a blast, and my coffee is tasting delicious right now. Well, about as delicious as mcdonalds coffee can get. Don't judge me, there's nothing else open at this time of morning.

In a positive, physical note I bought myself a cool old-school city bike, and I've been biking to and from work! I got an awesome route along a canal on a bike path straight into the heart of old Montreal, and while I may not be kicking at least I do over an hour of biking a day, which should be good for me.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be working, I'll try and upda6e this with more footbag related topics at some point.

Thursday works... can we say 4:30pm Thursday, Place-des-Arts? Anyone and everyone is invited of course!

Ugh hopefully I'll be able to kick, I think the seat on my bike is too low and I noticed my right knee hurts when I bike. I'm gonna try and take the metro tomorrow to prevent anything stupid from happening.

Supposed to kick today as well, so we'll see what happens with that.

Did a little 2 man kick with Johnny for about half an hour yesterday. Johnny was on point but took a little bit too much muscle relaxant and wasn't feeling as hot as he normally was. I'm still just flailing about all over the place, BUT I did do the smoothest step out of spinning blender that I've ever done, it was just easy, like breathing or being successful at things.

I don't really remember any highlights other then that to be honest, it was a quick kick on a downtime day. I gots to say I've been having a blast just hanging out with him though, the three of us (Johnny, Bailey, and I) have been using the porch to the fullest, and it's cool that we connect as friends beyond footbag.

It was also cool that while showing him all my new toys and gadgets in the studio that I quickly was able to sketch out a dope beat - this always happens when I feel pressured to "perform", ie: Make a song out of nowhere in seconds in front of somebody.

AND, the Canadian Hero said he would get all hero-y and climb this 30 foot pole in the backyard to help set up our clothing line! What a good guy! The only risk is that he falls and dies, so I offered a 20$ reward, which he seemed happy for.
