Ran 3.5 miles again today. Drank plenty of water before I left the house but it was really hot today. I had to stop at the water fountain in the park at every lap.

Crashed my bike on the last day of Bluesfest. I was riding home with Freddy at night on the bike path when I freaking gnat flew into my right eye. I jerked right and the bike went into the gravel then the right side of the handlebar hit the fence parallel to the path and I hit the ground. Not bad as far as spills go, I got up with some minor scratches on my right fist and elbow. The good news is that the stem and handlebar I installed earlier in the day were still on!

I did nothing but hack during the festival. Not as fun as the past 2 but that's not to say it was terrible. Some good hack circles during the weekend. Not as many as in previous years though. It was great to just be able to go out there and kick with whomever I run into instead of making all the calls to make sureI have people to play with. I think I played my best on Saturday in a circle that started out with me, Bob and Reile.
... Tom soon came in and made it that much better. Ronnie (jumps high) wasn't playing as well and we really didnt get to play the way we like but it's always god to see him. I saw a couple of the other favorite regulars; cylcler w/ road bike but his foot was broken and the old fat guy that's deceptively good with outsides and toes. Didn't see crazy dad or his kid. Didn't see Travis or beer seller either. Met one decent hacker from Oak park. He could not shut up though. He kept rambling on about how each of us reminded him from someone from Oak Park blah blah blah...

"I'm gonna call you the Grave Digger! Every time I think the pass is dead you unearth it and bring it back to life" 8)

World Juggling Day was uh... wet. I got rained on thrice. Sat through the first 2 and rode my bike during the last. I helped pull a kid out of the lake. Poor guy couldn't swim well and didnt know how deep hte water was  . It was the first time I had played squares in a while too.

Didn't run today. Instead I strapped on my new Camelbak M.U.L.E. and biked down the lake path. I got to Belmont Harbor and just relaxed in the sun before heading to work. I'm loving the Camelbak so far. Its far more stable on my back than the Adidas sling I normally use and it can hold up to 3 liters of water. It'll be very usefully on my long rides to Grant Park and such.

I'm just now starting to appreciate cruising on my bike. And by that I mean just getting on and taking it easy. I'm ususally pedaling as hard as I can for as long as I can. It's very relaxing to just coast after a few cranks.

I've been drawing more the past couple weeks due mainly to Isilwar's contests. I forget how relaxing sketching can be too. I'll need to pick up a few more drawing supplies... the bare bones tools I have now is just not cutting it anymore.

Ever wonder why some, if not all, life drawing poses are so boring? Those drawings can take hours. The model has to be able to hold it for 20-30 minutes at a time. Then they have to get back into the same position, or as close to it as they can after the break.

It's been really hot and muggy the past 2 times I jogged this week. It was hard to breathe both days and I felt very tired after each session. Today was the most fatigued I've ever felt since before I broke the 3 mile mark. Actually had to convince myself to finish 3.5 miles today. The heat was just wearing me out. 150 now. Diet is still crap. It very clear in my mind my weight loss progress would be so much more efficient if I weren't intaking so much crap. It's so hard.

Cleaning the house and working on my Freddy drawing most of the morning but I want to play in the afternoon. Maybe Jonquil. Anyone?

I'm quite filthy right now. Got home from Taste and been trying to tuning the front derailleur on my bike. The chain has been rubbing and it annoys the hell outta me. Got another freaking flat on the way to Grant Park. Fortunately I carry a patch kit and pump now. It was still a pain in the ass though. Still need to shower.

I ran into Vince, at the festival. He's an old kicking buddy from back in the pre CIC days. Funny guy. It was great to see him again. Hope to kick with him some more. I rode his bike for a little bit. He warned me that I would fall in love with it. He has a '99 or 2000 Specialized Stumpjumper. It was mostly stock but much lighter and with better components than my Rockhopper as it currently is. I got on and immediately noticed what a smooth ride it was compared to mine.

Then the unthinkable happened. The idea that I would sell my bike to get a new one popped into my head. Now understand that I freaking LOVE my Rockhopper and have spent quite a bit of money the past few years to upgrade it. But something happened when I rode Vince's bike. I guess I did fall in love with it. His frame and paint job were immaculate --ugh-- it hurts just to think about it.

So maybe another Red Rockhopper with a 15 inch frame may find it's way in my possession next year. A Stumpy is out of the question. The base model is a G. Damn you , Vince!!!!

Still need to shower.

Is your phone working? Last couple times I've called you it doesn't ring, and then I just hear my own voice echo back to me, like this:

"Uh, hello?"

"Uh, hello?"

"Zeke?"

"Zeke?"

"Fuck my fucking phone goddammit what the hell? AAAAAA!!"

"Fuck my fu --"

And then I hang up.

So if any one was curious as to what that image in you PM is, that is my entry of Footbag Drawing contest # 2: Draw your favorite player. I chose Freddy. I was initially going to draw myself but I came up with Freddy's concept and I knew I had to do it. The main inspiration was the pic of Iron Man in his blog. The pose was even simila until I changed it into Freddy doing a clipper. I then had to flip the image over to make it fit the background I chose.

Points of interest:
-Color scheme is a mix of his favorite color and his school colors.
-His mustache from Cinco de Mustache.
-The discs on his hips can be thrown like a Frisbee.
-No palm lasers like his comic counterpart. Instead, I placed one on the sole of his right foot (you're so one-sided Freddy, you should be ashamed!) and it fires when he does his no-look scorpion-like sole kick.
-Headlights? Thats my own personal touch

Voting starts sometime Saturday. Here's the thread:
