Morning Footbag Session.

20 minutes.

Time in Zone: 13:02

Got to 24 tiltless. My knee is still bothering me. Flip whirls are a no no with how this feels. My arms are also on fire this morning. Turns out though that I can get up and shred in the morning. YAY!

P90X Day 2: Plyometrics

Well, yesterdays workout killed me. I didn't really feel it until I hopped on my bike and started pedaling to work. Instant pain everywhere along my neck and shoulders. It was a tough ride to work, but I made it. Spent the day in a fair amount of pain, but made it through. A training rep came to my store today and brought a lot of junk food with her. I felt obligated to eat it... I've got my wife using MyFitnessPal. I didn't push her into our anything, she just asked what I was using and started using it. After supper she was lamenting that she wanted to snack but MFP wouldn't let her have any more calories. So I told her to excersise and she could have more. She didn't understand and said it didn't work that way, so I had her put the equivelent of the P90X workout I was about to do. When she put that in she suddenly had 450 extra calories. So she worked out with me. It was awesome. I like working out with her and I know she wants to but needs some non-pushy motivation. Anyways, Plyo with my bum knee was painful, but I pushed through (modifying when needed). I think a lot of the moves will be good for footbag and I look forward to trying this workout when in less pain.

/sigh

I made it through all of 2 days into P90X. I'm starting back up again on Wednesday. Friday I woke up and felt like I was swallowing broken glass every time I swallowed, even just air. Then I almost puked when I got up. I called in sick for work and then spent 2 days in bed. It still hurts to swallow and I'm not really sure what's up. But I'm starting again Wednesday regardless. I'm going to take it 100% easy until then though. No biking, no footbag and no BB workouts.

Didn't sleep last night. Went to doctor at 5am. Tonsillitis. I tried to go to work and actually made it for about 3 1/3 hours. It turns out having every associate in the store unable to answer their customers questions and therefore coming and asking me the answers means I talk more in the first hour of my shift than I did from Thursday night to Monday morning combined. AND talking causes tonsillitis to hurt a lot. I was like, I'm out and went home. Staying home tomorrow too. I doubt I'll be starting P90X on Wednesday... Being sick sucks, but what can you do, right? I've got some antibiotics that should kick in soon.

Over a week since my last post... half way down the page.

I haven't kicked in a very long time. Or worked out. Yet I'm losing weight. I'm losing weight because eating HURTS LIKE HELL!!! I've got tonsillitis. I've had it for over 2 weeks now. Thought it almost went away with my first set of antibiotics, but alas, it did not. It's back with a vengeance. Can't even talk today. It's a terrible way to spend a lovely summer. I really just want to go outside and kick. I sat outside and read comics for a bit today. Was nice to be outside, but I feel so useless. As far as the weight loss though, this not being able to eat is awesome for it. i'm down to 166 lbs now. That's 79 lbs total. I guarantee that I'm losing mostly muscle mass as I'm not getting the calories I should be simply because I just can't get enough food down.

Been a long time since I worked out other than riding to work. My sister is here visiting and she's doing some Jillian Micheals workout program. I decided to do it with her this morning. I think if I was in better form (as in had been working out for the past month) it would have been a breeze for me, but I haven't been working out so it was tough. Not terrible but tough. I figure it was good to get loosened up for my first footbag session in a month later this afternoon.

So. I went to the public beach to play today and took alomg my freedom fliers for Play Footbag Day. No one showed even the slightest interest. Kinda a bummer. I played for just under an hour. After not playing for a month my game was terrible. i managed 24 tiltless... that is all.

I hope other's efforts today were more productive.

Jay is an amazing writer. I love his blog. I find myself wondering if what he writes is just the way his brain works, or if he has to sit there and think about the wording to make it sound so awesome and perfect. I wish I could read about my life through Jay's words because I bet it would be way better than actually living it.

Did my sister's workout with her again. And along with the hour footbag session last night I'm sore. My calves especially. P90X should be interesting on Wednesday...

Set out to have a long punishing session tonight. I planned for 2 hours. Didn't even make it through one. Partly because my wife went to bed and I didn't want to keep her up, but that's no excuse really. I did have a few nice tiltless runs though. I have been slacking BIG TIME on my fitness and need to get back in the swing. I've been eating badly too. I'll get back into it. I have to. 10 lbs from my goal.

Last night's post was somewhat negative. And I was very happy about hitting the 43 and 40 tiltless strings. Those are my two highest. I was sad that I dropped there because I have the goal of getting 50 before Sept 15. I have less than a week left now. Getting to 40 twice in one session does give me hope. And I think I might put off restarting P90X until the 21st so that I don't lose the two footbag sessions it would overtake. I really want to get my footbag goal of the summer, even though I am no where near my fitness goal. Who cares about being able to do 100 pushups anyway? That might become my winter goal since it goes well with P90X and insanity which will be my focus over the winter.

50 Tiltless here I come!!!

First: I had a wonderful weekend. Last weekend of summer. Awesome weather on Saturday so I went to the lake with friends. Did some tubing and kneeboarding (Had 3 epic wipes kneeboarding --- straight up face plants!) and cooked burgers over a fire right on the beach. GREAT DAY! Then Sunday it rained, so I had some friends over to play Star Wars Miniatures. It was great fun. I ran a fun squad with some awesome synergy that mopped up nicely. After they went home I watched the Oiler Rookies mop the ice in Pentiction with the Canucks. Ah, hockey. How I missed you.

Anyway, played Kicky sack for an hour tonight.

Some of the worst shin splints I remember. Right here. Stopped after 30 minutes because of the pain. Not sure what happened and why they came suddenly. Possibly bad form with the quantums yesterday? I dunno.

It's the 15th. Did you get your 50 tiltless goal?

Oh, and I thought it'd make your day to let you know that Tatooine has been discovered. 8)

Two years ago, he wrote this. So I think he puts a lot of thought into what he writes. But maybe that's changed since then?

1.5 hour session

Last night I was really hoping for a better session than I had. I wanted to take the pressure of my Sept 15 goal deadline off a day early. As seen by my previous post I had no such luck, and not much faith in my abilities for the last kick at the can tonight as the shin splints were bad. And shortly after tonight's session they set in again. DAMN!!!

 40 toe stalls > 40 inside stalls > 40 clippers > 5 infinities
- I'd like to modify that into a nice warmup, maybe 10 of each up and down
 tiltless string of 30
 tiltless string of 33
 tiltless string of 30
 tiltless string of 36
 tiltless string of 35
 tiltless string of 33
 tiltless string of 34

My legs hurt soo much. Must ... keep ... kicking ...

 drop to the floor and do a few clapping push ups

 tiltless string of 53

... and so at 10:22 pm on the deadline of my summer footbag goals I can cross the last one off and feel pretty confident that I can hit 30 tiltless on a regular basis. Go me. Go footbag. Expect new goals soon.

Ken - first and foremost, thanks for remembering my goal and taking the time today to mention it. When I saw that at work today it got me stoked and kept the goal even more in mind than it already was. THANK YOU! Also, Tatooine is awesome and after my shower I'll be looking into that more. THANK YOU!!!

P90X Day 1: Chest and Back

Felt ok throughout, although my throat is getting sore and it feels a lot like tonsolitis did... I didn't have time for Ab Ripper X this morning so I'll do it tonight. Also, I couldn't find my heart rate monitor so I don't have those numbers.
