I'm officially back in Missoula from the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Idaho Jam. And it was a blast! didn't play at all like I wanted to, but it was still awesome nonetheless.

the bus ride there was strange. I sat by this guy that told me he was a felon running from bounty hunters on his way to canada to hide out. He then was really touchy feely the rest of the trip and kept trying to get money from me.

arrived in boise 14 hours later. Jim and Luis were waiting at the station. we promptly headed back to the shredquarters for some bean sack. Legs were stiff and sore but had a blast. I could watch daryl, jim, and luis for days. Such great styles and unique shred.

Jim hit everything bsos, and then repeated it. was pretty sweet. some memorable combos were alpine food>pdx torque>string, symp whirl swirl>superfly>rpt>string, and lots of others. came pretty close to symp whirl swirl>dolomite>void thought up by the combo generator.

Hung out w/ scott a fair bit. Felt like we could come up with goofy ideas without talking to eachother.

Cameron showed us how to be a ladies man at the shankar convention.

foam medieval weapons were tight

Luis' character and inner spirituality always amazes me. love spending time with him.

Pigeon calls and devils horns w/ penske

hot tub :!:

Finally met zeb. he's a promising shredder. Zac and Zeb are super friendly and fun to hang out with. wish kyle would have been there. talked to him on the phone. conversation consisted of 'banana hammock' talk

Daryl made tons of dank foods.

have 2 new 32 panels. a josh raye and a footfighter w/ spikes

Red's a nice guy. He complimented my style several times which was reassuring b/c i really don't like my style.

toe spins = the hotness

we were striving for 100 contact strings all weekend.

The energy around Sri Sri is ridiculous. Will work my hardest to treat everyone like my brothers

bus ride back seemed quick even though I had to go through Oregon to get from Boise to Missoula. How the hell does that work? that's one state over in the wrong direction. this guy that hunts 4 leaf clovers gave me a lucky tin w/ 4 four leaf clovers taped to it and lucky coins inside. He's already found 87 4 leafed clovers in 07 alone 8O

another guy on the bus gave me incense in exchange for batteries

salmon river is absolutely beautiful

Idaho = awesome. Plenty of talk about the montana jam as well.

banana hammock!

I wish I could have gone. Lame shiz. I'm tired of waiting for MFJ. It needs to come already. I'm definitely going to bring some hash this year. Any of you guys like hash?

I say hell yea, hash is dope. The Nampa jam really was the most happenin' event in the greater Boise area last weekend. It was kinda strange hangin' out with some non-footbag people at Daryl's house, but the shred was good regardless. I had to leave at like 9:00AM, but the drive was quite scenic and it left me enough time to take care of some school business in Missoula. Too bad I couldn't make it to the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar seminar.

The sesh today was tight. We're gonna be in the school newspaper tomorrow apparently. The guy got lots of pictures of me and Jere. I hope the publicity for the freestyle jam is effective.

huge props to Kevin's 128 contact run!

Went on my longest string yet last night.

129 contacts :!:

probably breaks down into about 50 2adds, 60 3 adds, and 20 4 adds.

After 100 contacts I started shredding pretty hard throwing in lots of 4s.

probably my greatest footbag accomplishment to date :D

Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Grifter: n. slang. 1. a person who operates a sideshow at a circus, fair, etc., esp. a gambling attraction. 2. a swindler, dishonest gambler, or the like. [1910-15]

Mad blunts lately.

I hit pixie flail/bs fudge first attempt first try ever today barefoot. Flails feel cool.

I'm going to start training a shred30 for MFJ soon. The weather has been super nice so it's about that time to get off my ass again and start shredding like MAD!

Training Day 1:

It was quite possibly the most refreshing experience in a while. 5-20mph winds, slightly drizzling just enough to fell it but not enough to get soaked. It felt so amazing to be out playing in that type of weather. Super intense. I had a lot fun playing today and was satisfied with the progress. I worked on a shred30 a little, but I'm way out of practice to really get anything solid yet. Tomorrow should be better. :D

DO IT FOR ARNIE!!!!!

It's great you're enjoying foozbag again

Kevin does it again. hits on a girl for a few weeks, asks her out on a date. finds out she has a boyfriend. WOO! that's the fourth or fifth time this semester :?

Bought a pair of slacks at a thrift store. I can shred just about as good in them as shorts (with exception to some tricks).

Your approach is totally flawed. I'm not surprised this hasn't been working for you. Let's talk man to man at MFJ.

BTW I am not going to grow a mustache. They look horrible on me.

Have you secured the gamecube? How about 12pack of natty ice and a big black dildo? I've been spreading the word about Arnie in various Jack Johnson chat rooms.

Arnie my man, you shall not have died in vain. :P :x

It might be because my strategy is the absence of any strategy. I just be myself. And a lot of people say I'm strange

teach me the ways of the man Ben

Natty Ice? i was thinking more along the lines of a keg of steele reserve 8)

Dude I love to wear speedos when I drink kegs of steel reserve!

Unless a girl comes up and starts licking all up on my balls and calls me daddy duke, fuck em. Most are just a waste of time. To get MOST girls you have to act like someone else to get with them and that's just gets annoying.

Got a bit of drilling in today. first time i've actually drilled in awhile. lately my sessions have just consisted of freestyling strings with basic tricks.

drilled drifters. hit bsos smoke a few times. on the strong side, the set goes too high, on the flip, the pixie leg is lifted more than it needs to be. could not hit flip vortex for the life of me. the strong one is starting to get thrown in midstring. so that was pretty frustrating yet fun at the same time.

hit pixie opp blender barefoot bs first attempt :o not sure if i've ever hit a flip barefoot blender.

Barefoot shred is the hotness. Flip blendy is pretty cool too. I can't do that. The thought of James in a speedo, however, is not the hotness.

Shred today at 5. I'm stoked. Evan's gonna come over to my place after the sesh for a homebrew and grindage sesh. Anyone else in MFA is more than welcome to chill.

Before I think about the footbag sessions, I've got to think about my BIOL 497 research presentation. I go dead last on Friday at the big confrence. This prolly means I pissed off the honors college somehow and stand no chance of getting the prize money. Whatever, it's good practice. If anyone wants to come see me embarass myself I'll be in UC 333 presenting at 2:30 on Friday afternoon. Let's hope I don't fuck up.

Kicked with the MFA yesterday.

Riley could hit food processor 90% of the times he tried. and he hit every challenge I gave him including blender>blurry whirl 8)

Evan went around 20 contacts gyro clip>spin clip>rpt

Jere was busting out long pixie runs as usual

Had the best shred 30 I've ever done. One drop, repeated only 3 tricks, and the first 15 contacts were tripless :o No way i'll be able to repeat that in comp though. always end up psyching myself out in comp.

also hit merlin>pixie ss dod>string

edit: forgot about pdx whirl>whirl>pdx whirl>whirl>drifter>pdx drifter>drifter>pdx drifter>string. First time linking those two drills

So, life has hit me like a freight train the past couple days. I got a flat tire yesterday and now I don't have a ride to MFJ (or anywhere) unless I make some money to buy a new tire, but now I can't make money because my roommate broke my scale yesterday and my cell phone bill is due in a week of $80.

Pretty much I don't know what's going to happen now.
