damn gary you're crankin out bags like a machine! another beaut!

matt - gary has a for sale thread with a picture of his fill. he uses conditioned stainless steel shot. looks to me like conditioned cut wire shot.

waylon - i highly encourage you to take a stab at 92. you've been stitchin for a while, so you know all the ins and outs, the biggest thing is getting the templates right and biting at the right depth. i scaled johnny's dimensions down slightly and wound up at 52mm with high gather. i had been skeptical about how a 92 would play as well, but after seeing johnny's 92s firsthand at grass, and seeing one used for circle competition, i had a change of heart. give it a shot bro!

marco - that looks so soft and amazing! nice!

Wow, that's a hard act to follow! Very nice looking bag. :)

This is the second bag I've ever made and the first one using ultrasuede light from Field's. 3-stitch weighing in at about 55 grams.

Thanks! I did a LOT of research prior to actually attempting any stitching -- I think it paid off. Should have some more to post in the coming weeks.

ok, this one was such a big pain in the ass, the cutting, the stitching, the gathering... everything. and to top it off, it stoo big and kinda stiff :( but i am proud anyway. my first ever bag with more than 32 panels :D if i have any time or huge boredom anytime soon i will try one with bigger hexes and from amaretta or microsuede. should be good.

Yeah, for bags like these lesser gather is better. Nice colors. You should definitely try using amaretta for the smaller hexagons.

its actually not gathered that hard, also, lesser gather would result in even bigger bag. this is allready way too big. maybe shrinking the template a bit would work :D

To me those dimples on the pentagons have a high-gathered two-stitch technique applied to them. Plus the smaller red pentagons are bunting out, so... yeah.

Nothing wrong with big bags imo. We at NYFA have grown accustomed to big bags because of Ben Cooke, and although I was skeptical at playing with large bags at first, I've grown used to them (maybe even prefer them these days). Great for demos.
