Nick: Sorry! Definitely next time for sure!
And yes, I'm just a quitter. But yes, Ben helped. Will help. Does help.
It was great to see you too!
It was a fun time.
So, I still don't post much. Winter scares me. :c
But anywho, I hadn't posted as recently as Ben, but I also did that one thing with the records or what-have-you.
ATW: not many. Probably like 2 in a row both sides (avg.)... I neglected them for too long perhaps.
Legover (strong side): ~3
Toe stalls (b2b): 22
Insides (b2b): 11
Inside>Clipper (rpt) (bs): 1.5

Awwwe yeahh, congrats on the records, especially insides
You are currently sitting next to me.
Next time we kick, maybe around 10 tonight, we should work on recording your 10 insides/10 toes.
Yay milestones!

Ben: Thanks!...
I kicked yesterday. I brought brownies and cheesecake cookie cups. There was Nate, Ivan, Ben, Marc, Ryan, Kat, Khoa, and Lauren.
Highlights:
clipper > op clipper (for the first time, thrice)
semi-hurting myself when joining the circle - foots got confused on doing clipper,... or something :/

Hope your foot feels better - everyone saw your foot twist and kinda just winced for a moment. BTW, those brownies and cheesecake cups were amazing.

Ivan: Thanks! It probably looked worse than it was (mostly as usual I would think), though at the moment both of my ankles did hurt. They're all better now (I would hope), and I should be kicking soon. (The reason why I didn't kick the other day was moreso because of my productivity in schoolwork, which I was proud of).
In other words, I am not posting because I had a session, but to say that I will ideally soon! I just need to brave this winter... But yeah! Just you wait spring. Just you wait.

Why wait till spring? You have all winter to catch up to those people who don't kick much during the winter. Now is the time you get better so by the time tournament season hits the east coast in the spring, you are ready to show everyone how good you got over the winter.
But yeah, I can see how the winter would be someone's least favorite season. I dig it though.

I think April meant that she's going to be kicking through to Spring, and try to get as good as possible for tournament season. "Just wait til spring".. That's how I took that. And yeah, def keep it up April. Sucks to hear abut the injury :/ Your ankles are bendy, so you probably got off lucky from this. I do it all the time. Thank something for bendy ankles!
Hope you get kicking again soon! And nice job on your first Clipper> op Clipper!

Most likely. It doesn't help that I am not getting enough sleep before posting on others' footblogs.
Bendy ankles are overrated. You still have the same breaking points, they are just a bit further on the range of motion
Not gonna lie, I am a bit jealous of them.

So, I tried typing stuff, and it ended up pooping on me, and I don't want to type it again. So I will say ... stuff.
But really, I said something along the lines of Nick being right and me wanting to get better. And thanks for the kind words, and what-have-you.
Then I said something like: Ivan, I'm lucky. Get more sleep. But it's interesting to see what comes of lack-of-sleep.
Derek, I saw you later in that time in which you posted, which was interesting/cool?
I did stuff at a session and people were there. And I tried some things and stuff.
Then we hung out at shredhaus and watched Monsters U. It was fun.
And then something like thanks everyone and I hope to kick and get better, regardless of being slow at it, because building basics, yadda yadda yadda.

Yesterday I had a "bike room session" with Ben and Marc. It was fun, tight, and cramped. But really, it as cool. I felt like I made some progress
I worked on toe stalls and clippers and insides. I also worked a bit on legovers/mirage, though not as much. I also did a couple of ATWs. Good ole times.
Afterwards, we played Risk, and Marc and Ben made an alliance against me.

Yesterday, I kicked with Ben a bit in the study room next to my dorm room. I hadn't kicked in a while, besides once in the last week. *guilt* I'm very lazy
Anywho, later today I think I'll be kicking with Ben and Nate in the study room or lounge area (whichever works).
Aside from that, I wanted to make a Footbag New Year's Resolution!
These are the tricks/goals that I hope to be able to hit by the end of the 2014 year.

Re: Set Phasers To Love Me! [April's Footblog (PSU)]
So, I kicked on January 2nd, and January 4th. I pretty much did the same thing both sessions.
For January 2nd, Greg, Ben, and Nate were there, as well as one of Greg's friends. I don't think I really hit anything spectacular, but practiced the basics.
For January 4th, Ben, Nate, and Khoa were there. I hit Pickup from toe once or twice, and seemed to be doing pretty well with Legover. I also practiced more of the basics.

Good to hear you've been playing! I was inspired by your list to make my own. What a good idea.
Also, new footage in the New Years shred video looked great! Keep it up, the basics work is paying off!

Re: Set Phasers To Love Me! [April's Footblog (PSU)]
Nick: Thanks!
Recently, I kicked with Marc, Kat, Khoa, and Ben. I don't really remember what I hit or anything and it was the first time in a while that I kicked (or at least it felt like it). So, I guess I was pretty much just getting my legs back into the groove.
I had a drill session with Ivan, Ben, and Kat. I didn't have any particular goals, but I worked on my toes, insides, Clippers, and Legovers. I also got Pickup bsos, and fiddled with that a bit. I think I like it
At the end of the session, we just hacked and it was pretty fun. Trying to go for a kick around, and a stall around. Fun stuff.
I'm thinking for future drill sessions, I should come up with a list of stuff I should focus on (goals).
...Yup.
Also, PSU Jamps are coming up! (There seems to be a lot of jams happening around the time). But I'm excited! Are you? (The only correct answer is affirmative).

Re: Set Phasers To Love Me! [April's Footblog (PSU)]
Today I had another drill session with just Ivan and Ben. If I must say, I do believe that that was probably the best (drill) session I've had up-to-date. I had a lot of fun, and I feel/felt like I made a lot of progress.
Before heading to the session, I made some notes of what to possibly work on:
-ATW records
-Toe b2b record (previously 22)
-Inside b2b record (previously 11)
-Legover b2b x5
-Inside>Clipper rpt
-Clipper>op Clipper
-Pickup b2b
-Mirage bs
-Illusion?
What I ended up achieving at the session:
-Toe b2b *NEW* record: 69
-Inside b2b *NEW* record: 21
-Mirage bs
-*NEW* Front Sole Stall (strong side)
-Legover b2b
-*NEW* Osis bs
According to Ben, my Osis(es) eventually looked clean (Go Daft Punk! - the band that was on when I got my Osis groove), so that's cool! I'm excited to play with Osis more because I like(d) it and it seems fun/natural (especially because when I try/tried Clipper>op Clipper it was apparent that I turn about 90 degrees).
Also, towards the end of the session, everyone (mostly Ivan) was making links for each of us to hit, which was nice and fun. I was first requested to do:
-Pickup>Legover
-Legover>Pickup
I found that my strong sides were a lot easier to do than my weak sides (obviously, but by a lot). I would usually get the links on my strong side pretty much first time, but as for weak side, it took foreverrrr. I still need to work on Legover>Pickup on my weak side. (And I say weak side for the whole link because it happens that my strong side Legover to strong side Pickup work well... it's hard to explain in words...)...
I would like to end this post by thanking Ivan and Ben for a fun and productive/progressive time, as well as helping me with whatever I needed help with for my game. Thanks guys!

This past session was your best yet!
It's not fair how quickly you hit osis. >:(
I cannot wait to see what's in store for the next couple sessions because I know you're going to kill it! Nick's going to be all like, "OMG, April you kick the bag like some type of European or something. LIKE WOW." (paraphrasing)

Nice job, April!
Big highlights on the Osis bs and Legover b2b. Really looking swell.
Stoked for kick at PSU this weekend!
And I'll make sure to not compare you to any europeans

Re: Set Phasers To Love Me! [April's Footblog (PSU)]
Nick: Thanks! It was fun kicking with you today! And hanging out! Excited for tomorrow! Thanks for the help and tips and stuff!
Today, we kicked! There was Nick, Ivan, Nate, Mike Toolan, Ben, Khoa, Kat, Marc, Ryan, and me. I mostly worked on Osis. I hit some things out of Osis, mostly Toe Stall, and got very spinny, but soon, I will learn to control my Osis and hit other tricks.... Like Clipper. I also hit my first Butterfly (AND on both sides), which was exciting for me. Then, I also tried hitting Swirl on my strong side. It looks like I've almost got it, but not quite. And I learned Pixie set on both sides (thanks to Nick). Then.... I'm not sure what else I hit.
We're hanging out tonight, which will be fun. Planning on playing Cards Against Humanity, which I think will be fun!
