I like that move you're doing in the bottom pic.
Sorry to hear about the shin splints; I've heard that one should drink a lot of milk if shin splints are a problem-- they're microfractures in your bones and milk speeds the recovery. You've probably heard the same (years of soccer, yes?).

Haha...thanks a lot for the pictures Amelia! What am I doing in the first one?!!

Anyway, Zach, I've actually never had shin splints from soccer! I've had forearm splints from gymnastics though, so I kinda know what I must do! I drink chocolate milk everyday (it's the best!). Thanks for the tip though, I'll try drinking more white milk!

try doing toe raises, do like 100 on each foot 2 times a couple of times a day

put ur foot flat on the ground and lift ur toes and tap the ground w/ them kind of hard, do them as fast as possible.

About a week after doing these (and even stopping) my shin splints completely subsided

you were busting some cool strings today, keep it up!

I used to get forearm splints almost every season of gymnastics because I am a pommel horse specialist and work on that event mainly. But my strength improved a lot and I haven't gotten forearm splints in almost 2 yrs.

Yesterday, I shredded for a little bit while waiting for gymnastics practice to start. I'm finally happy that my strings are at least of a decent length. I've been trying to make my flipside better in order to make my strings longer and it seems to have worked out just the way I wanted it to. Anyway, I didn't hit anything new yesterday, just some long strings (10+ contacts, yeah that's long for me ).

I don't think I'll be able to shred until Saturday because this Friday, I have a huge AP Chemistry test, an AP Lit & Comp semester final, probably an AP Biology test, and an AP Govt & Politics test. I'm gonna be too busy studying because I have my semester finals next week, but I should get some good shred in over the weekend!

Wish me luck in my semester finals!! :)

Today, I kicked for about an hour with Jon at the raquetball courts. It was mainly a session where I was trying to drill my flipside and I think it went alright. I can now consistently hit lots and lots of infinities and my runs are all so much longer and smoother now too! I came really close to hitting these two combos today though:

symposium mirage > ss symposium whirl
beta smear > ss symposium whirl

I want to hit that combo so badly! It just looks so damn cool! 8) Anyway, I gotta go finish up some homework and study some more for my semester finals now.

I kicked with Kyle and Dane for about an hour and forty-five minutes today after school. Kyle's runs are getting so much longer now and he uses his toe stall less and less now too, so I'm really happy for and proud of him! Dane's strings are also getting to be longer than his usual couple of contacts; and he hits some nice tricks like dimwalk, and ripwalk in there too!

I beat my old infinity record (14, which I hit a few days ago) and my new infinity record is 17 (I know it's not that many, but it means that my flipside clippers are improving, so I'm really happy about that!)!! Also, I forgot to post that yesterday, I hit ducking clipper x 5!! I'm really liking ducking and diving moves and am using them frequently in my runs now!

Anyway, I'm just really happy that half of my AP Lit & Comp semester final was over today (the semester grade is based on two essays with each one being worth 50% of the semester grade 8O). Next week is when I have the second half of my Lit & Comp final and the finals for my other classes. I can't wait to shred some more tomorrow!! :D

I shredded with Jon, Jeff, and Chris for about an hour and a half today. It was a really good session! We were all busting out huge stuff! Jeff hit double over down swirl (his first triple dex and his first 5 add) a couple of times and he hit them really cleanly too! He also came close to paradon swirl! Chris was hitting dynos and spinning osis and he was hitting some long tiltless strings. Jon was hitting a lot of strings with toe torque and other toe shuffle stuff with a ripwalk or blur thrown in here or there!

I finally hit ripwalk > ripwalk and it felt really easy! Also, flipside symposium whirls have become really easy for me and I hit them many times today, both at the start of runs and midstring. I also had some long, guiltless strings which I am really happy about (because I usually mess up and hit 2 add moves during my runs)!!

Anyway, hope you guys are enjoying the read! :D

Thanks a lot guys! I'm happy that people are actually reading my blog!

I had 2 sessions yesterday! The first one was in the afternoon with Kyle and Jon. We kicked at my raquetball courts and i just drilled my flipside some more. Now, flipside spinning is almost as easy as strongside spinning. I hit flipside merkon (I have come close to it on my strongside but I haven't hit it yet). My flipside symposium whirls are getting really consistent and good and I'm trying to work them up on my strongside too! Kyle was hitting long tiltless runs and Jon was hitting his usual stuff.

The second session was at night and I kicked with Dane and Kyle. We played in Dane's basement. There's enough room to hit strings and stuff down there but not enough to go for too long.

Anyway, it was really fun because we're thinking of doing footbag at my school's V-Show, so we were planning on what songs to use and how we should choreograph ourselves, etc. I really hope that we enter the V-Show and become a big hit! :D

I just had a 1+ hour long session with Kyle and it went pretty well! I'm happy to say that Kyle can now link two adds like they're nothing! His average run length is like 7-10 contacts now and his runs look so smooth too!

I worked on my whirls and ended up hitting whirl bsos a couple of times and in one of the runs, I almost had a flip symp whirl as well!! I also came pretty close to hitting tap on my flipside, so I think that I can finally work up my flipside atomic sets too! I also messed around and came close to pixie tap a couple of times! I drilled my flipside stepping sets some more and finally, I'm almost content with where my game is right now!

Thanks TJuggles! Yes, pixie tap is sailing ss mirage! I've come close to that trick so many times, but I haven't hit it yet (only footyed it)! Hopefully, I'll hit it one of these days!

I took the day off today just to give my shins and knees a little rest because I've been shredding almost daily! The main reason I didn't shred today was because I have my AP Chemistry and AP Biology semester finals tomorrow and they're gonna be tough!

Anyway, I just popped in to see what was going on! I'm gonna go back and study some more now!

Most of my finals are over! I only have Calculus left tomorrow! So, I'll probably end up shredding a little bit today! Also, I'm really getting into bowling...anyone else bowl? If so, what's your average? Mine's around 140-150! :)

my highest game was 212 or 215 a while ago when i was on a bowling league, i know thats not very high but i was young. but the team i was on was so bad that the hadicap that the other team had to give us in leagues they couldnt beat. one team had such a high average and we had such a low one as a team, that my team only had to get 20 pins in 10 frames to win. hehe, we got first place that year.

My highest score was 196! I bowled for almost 3 hrs today and it was awesome!! My average was right around 150ish, and I'm becoming better everytime I play! Anyway, to the shred part...I kicked with Kyle, Dane, and Jon today at my raquetball court. It was a great shred! I'm finally sorta happy with my string length! I can easily break into a 10 move string now!

Highlights:
 blizzard (almost bs)
 smudge

I had a lot of long runs (sometimes guiltless, sometimes tilt/guiltless)! I also got close to hitting phoenix > ps whirl about two or three times! Kyle was hitting long tiltless runs with stuff like pixie legover or smudge put in. Dane's got pdx mirages down, both sides!! Jon hit mobius but didn't get a chance to seal it! I can hit whirl really easily now (both sides); I just have to incorporate them into my runs now! And flip symposium whirls are too easy!
