Why dont we go after addidas for media exposure and stuff since the first thing i heard about when seeing footbag was rodlavers, and they are one of the most popular freestyle shoe.
Showing Addidas that there is an industry for say footbag shoes and athletic shorts around the world, which you could purchase from them, could possibly get them to help us.
Well thats my one idea.
Let`s start thinking about Footbag in the Olympics
I just wanted to point something out:
First to be an olympic sport you need to have the 75 countries participating in that sport. That means holding official competitions using the same rules. That means you need the competitions to be organised or sanctioned by some official body - a national body is best - especially if it is linked to the IFPA. Secondly as mentioned - there needs to be one set of rules. At this stage nobody uses the official IFPA rules for freestyle (nor should they) and there are currently 2 completely seperate rules in the rule book. It's very unlikely that we will ever get olympic status until we settle on one definite set of rules and get 75 countries with national organisations using those rules.
So what can you do to get footbag in the olympics.
1. Join the IFPA and become involved in helping to make the IFPA a strong sporting organisation.
2. Join or set up a national body in your country to be the official body in your country. Use this body to sanction competitions.
3. Compete or help organise sanctioned tournaments.
Also the Olympics are amature sporting events - that means you have to hold events with no prize money - events with prize money don't count towards getting footbag in the olympics.
