So I just woke up from about 11 hours of sleep. I didn't really go out last night. I was just so tired and drained from a week of school work. Things with the girl-with-no-title went up and down all week. You ever hang out with someone and are distant for no reason? Well, thats how I acted last night after I ate dinner with her, and I'm not sure why. Oh well, today is another day.
Last night I sat up and stitched for a long time. I really do enjoy just throwing on some music and sitting there for a good while. I finished a bag I had only 2 pents done on. It's pretty good. I used the amaretta I got from Nathan. The fabric seems to be superior to facile but I have yet to see about durability, even though the bag I made myself is 2 months old with no holes. That is why I feel confident selling bags of both fabrics, because they each have their upsides.
I played footbag yesterday afternoon with alex and tim. I dont think I have mentioned Tim yet in this blog, but he is a tiltless freestyler who is a sophmore here at school. The weird thing yesterday was that some random kid was in the gym playing hack too. Turns out his brother is on this forum, he is a freshman, and he wants to learn (I think). He hit atw both sides and mirage on one. I was pretty impressed. I really hope he sticks with it. We could always use new people. His name is Dale.
I played pretty shitty but it was really just because I played so hard the night before. The only good run had like, symp janiwalker bsos + ps egg or something, which isnt very good. I really was just dicking around helping dale hit new tricks, so it wasn't like I was there to rip.
Dale actually had Nike Free's and I tried them on and they fit perfectly. These shoes are a frikken trip. They are so light but the insides and toe are pretty shitty. I hit the cleanest nemesis ever in them though because of raw speed. But I dont think they are worth playing in full time. I know know why Hood would get so angry at them at NYJ.
I'm not sure what today has in store but I really wanted to go to breakfast but everyone (my friends) already went basically by themselves, so that kind of sucks. I rarely like chocolate milk, but man, saturday morning brunch is the time I drink that shit like it's gold.
Probably play hack with Pipenberg and Bevier today. This big like, dance thing is going on at school. It's called thon. It's the biggest college ran fundraising thing in the world I beleive. They raise like 40 mill or something rediculous. So everyone is at that.
I got hired to do gigs at this arts festival for $800. Shiz.
New vasek videos were good, but it didn't even look like he was trying except for that blurry flurry run. I really think this was him just dicking around. I don't think anyone really feels the same though, all the posts acted like he was ripping to his full potential.

shit dude, props on 7>7>7! and props on the art festival.
Sam and I kicked with your bag today, it played very well. Im concerned though, about the duribility of the bag. Its just scary that it plays so well now, but how long will that last? anyways, thanks again.

So today was the biggest waste of space ever. I felt pretty sick all day, and the volume on my computer wasnt working so i was like, all uptight about that. I really just sat around and watched tv. Nathan was up to shred, but I kinda felt sick all day. Like, I really want to eat, but I have no hunger and it just sucks so bad. I love being hungry. Ugh.
So I did fix my computer and then I watched all these videos. I love the US Open stuff. God, that week was so sick. And I love suderman footage. Gah. And I realize im repeatitive as hell, so if im boring to watch, sorry. I think im going to start not caring in circle comp, i hate the shuffle bullshit I do.
Maybe hanging with the lady tonight, maybe stitching.

I've learned to multiply what you say by about... 15. So when you say 2 good combos, that means about 30 good runs
you are way too hard on yourself, but maybe that mentality is what drives you to get better. Who knows. But if you're not having fun, dont focus on closing the gap. Focus on going farther and harder then you have before, no matter how good vasek is.

The gap isn't what matters man. Fuck the gap. You just make sure when you play you don't beat yourself all to hell about it. Everybody has shit sessions. The good thing is the next ones are better, especially if you want them to be. And don't forget to HAVE FUN!

IN my opinion it is impossible to say one is better at footbag because everyone is good at different things in footbag so there is really no way to know. I heard a wise man once say something like
"it doesnt matter how good you are at something, as long as you look good doing it"
Isnt that the truth?

True that.To me it was a let down. Right as i saw that new vasek thread in the video section i was excited. Then soon as the videos ended all i could say was "Thats... it....." I just wanted to see longer runs or maybe some cooler strings without ripstein(even though its one of my favorite moves) or whirr. Hes vasek, cant he do anything except whirr repeat or ripstein? But like you said it didnt look like he was trying.New vasek videos were good, but it didn't even look like he was trying except for that blurry flurry run. I really think this was him just dicking around. I don't think anyone really feels the same though, all the posts acted like he was ripping to his full potential.

Ended things with that girl. Mutual, but one sided. Psh.
Not sure what to do with myself. 4 hours yesterday wasn't the best idea ever. Hip kinda sore. Might play to get rid of stress.
I'm happy for my footbag friends. Kovacs, Strassman, and Gatesmen have all been really big uplifters recently. Happy I have a solid base of people in the sport I play.
Wrote a big essay on footbag for English. Teacher really liked it. It was classifying and dividing different players at tournaments. It was easy to write because I was passionate about the subject.
I have some homework but I can just focus and get it done in a half hour. Don't have to wake up till 9.... God the gym is calling my name... Maybe if I dont do flip whirls....
Made another bag. You can see the morsel below:

and just in case you were planning on sleeping tonight:

Okay so I'll admit I really don't read too many people's blogs, but I happened to be directed to David's after Jim read his massive 4 page 4 year post. The post and some of the responses that followed prompted me to write a response about the myth (?) of "natural talent."
So I started writing, and then I kept writing, and then I wrote some more. No, I didn't smoke two joints. But, by the time I was done writing I was somewhere around ten pages, and I realized I hadn't even answered the question I was originally going to address (though I do hint at answers to it). My real answer will probably come another day.
Anyhow, if you've got a few minutes, take a gander at my latest blog:

I don't really want to hijack David's blog, so please keep your comments on my site (when appropriate).
Peace.
