Had a short session yesterday with Nis and Kim.
It had been a while since last time I kicked so I was happy that I was playing semi-decently.
Nis and Kim were going in. Big trick session for sure. I was really enjoying watching them go at it.
Almost [bsos]ing Blurriest was my only highlight I remember.

We played at a new spot close to me and Kim. I have biked by it many times and thought it would be a good spot. But I am also nostalgic and I don't wanna leave the spot from the video in above post. Mixing things up a little is always good I guess.
There are some pretty scenic spots right next to where we kicked - maybe I should bring my camera next time.
Here is a pic:

Distortion starts tomorrow. Distortion is this big crazy festival in Copenhagen with huge street parties and Club events at night. Some of you might remember Matthias Lino Schmidt visited me around this time last year. This year Blau will be in town and I got thursday and Friday off work - so I hope we can kick and party.
Here is a trailer for Distortion - Enjoy the madness!

Since the last time you heard from me..

Distortion came and went with a huge BOOM SHAKALAKA! Good times! Lots of beers, lots of young fine ladies and a little bit of footbag related stuff.

Wednesday I partied with a young gentleman named Mathias “Madame” Blau and a slightly older barbarian named Michael “Migger” Nielsen.

Thursday I swung by Nis and Verena’s session since Nis had some papers that needed signing. I used the opportunity to film them play and get in on some of that footbag banter we all love so much. Kim also made a short appearance.

The rest of this long weekend is honestly a bit of a Stepping Pdx Mirage to me.

On monday I had a session with Mathias, Nis and Troels. I played absolutely horrendously. I honestly can’t remember the last time I played this bad. Nothing worked!
Only person that I felt had a strong day at the office was Troels Aka Trolls Aka Yeti Aka Adonis.

Troels left early and I filmed Mathias and Nis for a little bit. I am working on an interview with Mathias for BSOS.it and I might use the footage I got of him for that. I hope he will shoot something himself for it though so I can use it for another project.
A highlight from Mathias that I didn’t get on tape was Alpine Scorpions Tail [bsos] first try.

Me and Nis played a pickup game of soccer afterwards with some of his friends and a bunch of randoms. We were on the same team and won 10-1 or something like that. I made the goal of the match when I after getting pressured up in the right corner did a sick drible(pretty similar to this) which resulted in the ball going through the defenders’ legs. I picked up the tempo and ran up to the goalie - from a sharp angle I kicked it coldly over in the far corner. I miss playing soccer sometimes.

Summer Plans

I would love to go to Hamburg Jam in 10 days and I would love to go to both Worlds and Euros but unfortunately work won’t allow it. Decision? Euros!
I have been to Paris and freestyle seem to be second in line to net. I have been to Hamburg and I will be able to go there quite easily in the future. I have never been to Finland and when Pekka and Samu said I could stay at their place for a week after Euros it was the obvious choice.

So now the Plan is Euros in Turku > Moominland > Pekka and Samu’s place in Helsinki > Cottage trip with Pekka and then Party Bombe 5. Looks like a damn good time to me!

That sounds like a sweet trip to Finland. That Party Bombe has always seemed like a whole lot of fun.

Haven’t played any footbag since my last post. Been super busy at work and in general life has been kicking my ass a little. Going to my fourth funeral this year tomorrow. I sure hope it will be my last in a long time.

On to a more cheerful subject; international badass and my dear friend Mr. Milan “Megatron” Benda will be my neighbour from monday and about a month forward. I am super excited - shit is gonna go down!
Image

The sweetheart Nori Daigle will also be in Copenhagen sometime soon. I love when footbaggers visit our little northern haven.

Speaking of visiting us, I plan on having our Worlds Application ready this weekend so the rest of the board can approve as soon as possible. Would be nice for everybody if the host for Worlds 2015 could be announced at Worlds 2014. Fingedyfingers crossed.

Also, I made a shred silly shred video: http://vimeo.com/98215022

I have been playing footbag for 10 years now! That’s fucking crazy. Hopefully I will play another 10 years at least.

So as mentioned Milan is now in town and we raged out yesterday. Watched Uruguay - Italy at the harbour front, ate good food at my brothers café and drank a whole lot of beers. Milan hit Triple Pickup drunk, in normal clothes and in a crowded bar - first try! Looking forward to hang out a bunch more this month. Maybe I can even get enough footage to do a Milan Special.

Four Musketeers

Had a lil session today with Nis, Jan and Nikolai - who had dug out his old Milleniums.
As expected because of the lack of kicking I did play pretty badly but not as bad as last session.
In general it was just a nice relaxed session in the afternoon sun.

Nikolai gave me a bunch of old shred shirts. I gave Nis one he had wanted for years. Here are the rest:
Image
I am stoked about the yellow FootbagDenmark shirt - never had one of those!
Nikolai is such a good dude hope to see him more often in the future.

Hopefully we will send in our Worlds Application in the coming days.

Friday I played with Verena and Troels at the opening of the new Israels Square in Copenhagen (see photo above).
The place is super sweet and I am sure we are gonna play there again in the future.
I played okay. I had a few beers before and I was a little phased by six hot girls watching us play but with that in mind I did good.
Nori was there hanging out as well. Afterwards we partied at my place.

This video is from the old Israel's Square:

I posted an interview with Mathias Blau on BSOS.IT - I really like it, you should check it out!

Today I had a session with Nis, Verena and Jan. Canada's Sweetheart Nori, Foreman Nis’ wifey and a friend of hers did the spectator duties with the eyes of a bunch of hungry predators. I was hoping Milan would show up but unfortunately he hadn’t seen my message. Fingers crossed for next time.

I didn’t play very well but had a few highlights, so here goes:
- Blurry Legover > Toesis [rpt] > Run
- PLO > Quantum Legover > Butterfly > ( Ducking Clipper > Reverse Whirl [rpt] ) > Run
- 11 infinities (Gonna start working towards 20)
- DOD Swirl (first try)

Here is another another silly creative skate video since you guys seemed to like the last one:

Session yesterday with Troels, Andreas, Nis, Blau, Nori and Milan. Ended up being a pretty relaxed session - Mathias had some problem with his ankle, Milan had already played shows for 3 hours and I was a bit tired for work.

Milan was very impressed with Mathias. Worlds look out!

Me and Milan did a lot of funky tricks and links. Milan did Ass Stall > Dragon which we called Flaming Diarrhea

Finally got Nori to actually kick. She has some really good foundations - Getting teached how to do inside stalls from Vasek is not the worst you can do for your game.

My summer holiday starts now!

Reply to the post before this one:

Coming from a background of skateboarding, which I dedicated a decade and a half + of my life to, I am way beyond not impressed, and even quite impressed by the ridiculous goofy stuff I saw on that video. When I was a skater, I HATED goofy and uncommon skating. If it wasn't trendy and stylish or huge and monumental, I paid no attention to it and even despised it. I've changed in my reception now though. I also want to make sure I don't make the same mistake with footbag.

I read your Mathias interview the other day and just about cried myself to sleep in the corner when I found out he had come to the state of Michigan (where I live.) and not even that far away, maybe 3 hour drive from me. Now that I've found myself to be a fan of his footbagging, I sure would have liked to have had the chance to at least see him shred in person.

Are there any recent footbag videos of you Asmus?

Glad you liked the video. Who is your favorite skater? Feel free to share your favorite video from youtube here.

You should come to Copenhagen and shred with me and Mathias next summer. Speaking of which; Mathias finally got an apartment in Copenhagen from August. Worlds might be here next summer as well.

There are no recent videos of me. I should probably put some time into making a decent solo video soon. Here is my best solo video back from 2006.

This video basically defines what I loved about skateboarding and style.

the first few video video segments from Girl/Chocolate were also a huge part of my skate life:

If I was able to come to Copenhagen to shred, that would be SO BAD TO THE BONE! You have no Idea how stoked I am that you even invited me, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! And yeah, I've seen that video before and looking forward to what you come up with again =)

Sweet videos MeZel!

Roskilde Festival came and went. Once again without me or the rest of FootbagDenmark being there. This video bummed me out a little not being there. Lots of friends on stage killing it in the Street City area. Next year we should probably make an actual attempt at going there again.

Spent the wekend in a cottage with my dad and his family. I had brought my footbag gear but didn't play. The sauna there made me feel like I was almost already in Finland. Leaving in two days!

Kim is putting the final touches on our Worlds Application as I write this. I have a pretty good feeling about this. Gonna make the next year crazy. I am gonna work full time, study "IT project leadership and program management", organize Worlds and it might be time to try the whole girlfriend thing again. Busy bee in the trap..

Hopefully somebody will be able to keep BSOS.IT alive. I will still post stuff but probably not as frequent as now. I have a couple of great ideas - now it's time to execute.

There is a bunch of stuff I want to touch on but I also have more interesting footbag related stuff to do than update my footblog. So I will try to keep this kinda short and still touch on everything.

Worlds

All the freestyle seedings and pools for Worlds was put online today. Great job to the organizers for this. Most interestingly is of course the routine pools. Pool D is gonna be tough for everyone except Vasek. Arthur Ledain is former french freestyle champion and both Taishi and Pavel Motorov are good players. I can't call that one.

I think the final top 6 will be:
1. Vasek
2. Evan
3. Jindra
4. Blau
5. Rene
6. Aleksi

This might be very hard on Aleksi but he did do horribly at Euros. Maybe he will bounce back. I hope so but I am not so sure.

It sure sucks not to be going to Worlds but I guess most of you know that feeling.

New Orleans

I have gone to more funerals this year than anybody should, but it finally looks like something good is coming out of it. My mom has inherited a small house that we are now trying to sell. The money from that will go to a vacation for me, my brother, my mom and her husband. Right now it is looking like the destination is Mark Monistere and New Orleans. That would be sweet!

Worlds 2015 in Copenhagen

We send in the application today. I discussed it with Wiktor Debski at Euros and he made a semi-official announcement of it there. I think you all need to start looking for cheap flights to Copenhagen. I am very excited!

Modified

Seems like modified has picked up a bit lately. That's good. Don't beef people. The moderators are watching.

Love,
one of your friendly moderators

I finished and released my video from Finland. Stoked that people are stoked on it. I knew it was a good video but the reaction from the community has been overwhelming. When Juho tell you that you made video of the year, you know you got a hit. Looking forward to get started on my next production.

If you still haven’t seen it, here is the link: https://vimeo.com/102156681

I have become a big fan of Finland after this trip and I would suggest everybody to go there (Denmark first of course), but here are two things I don’t like about the land of the Moomins:

Alcohol policy
Only beer and ciders may be sold in normal stores and they can not sell it after 9 or something like that. Atleast you can drink on the street even though it is not completely legal.
The only things you can find at night that are open after 3 at night are hospitals, jails and legs and the open legs are few and far between. I am not used to this!

Rocks
In Denmark we don’t have bigass rocks. They just don’t exist here. I constantly forgot they exist in Finland - being it jumping in a lake or rolling down a hill (as seen on the video) I constantly got my ass whooped by Rocky the Rock.

Had a session yesterday with Kim, Troels and Migger. Was good to have Mr. Minja back. Nobody played that well but it was great hanging out with the guys again. My only highlight was DSO [bsos] first try. Flipside might have been new.

Here is a new creative skate video I like:

We can't even get beer at corner stores here. You have to go to The Beer Store or the liquor store if you want alcohol (they also close at 9). It requires a little more planning but we make due.

Really cool skate vid. The footbagger in me feared for this guys ankles the whole time.

Congrats to the big homie Mathias “Matrix” Blau for making BAP! It’s probably close to 10 years since I first told him that I thought the could make it. I am absolutely stoked!

Had a session yesterday with Andreas, Kim, Nis and Mathias. I wasn’t feeling it much - long day at work, sick earlier this week and had a beer with my brother before the session. Did get two highlights I was happy with:

- Legbeater (bsos) to a run with Tripwalk (bsos)
- Tapping DLO
I feel like I can hit that on flip as well, managed to pull something in my groin trying though.

Andreas is getting really good. He probably played better than me yesterday. Everything comes super easy for him.

Didn’t get to play with Mathias but I know he hit Fusion > Alpine Blur (bs) which I requested from him just before Worlds.

Speaking of Mathias - back on his old home turf of Aalborg in the northern part of Denmark, his old partner and former Danish Champion Søren Nøhr has started playing again. He even found a new guy to play with. He is trying to organize Danish Champs in Aalborg. It would be cool to have it outside of Copenhagen for the first time since 2005.

Here is my new favorite skate vid. I want my next shred video to look as weird and cool as this!
