I have never heard any person arguing for euthanasia suggest that such a case would be reasonable. I don't even believe that such a case has ever legally occurred. Nobody has any idea what the meaning of these people's protest was. Why were they dressed as Santa, and what did their signs mean?
The protest was about a new pulp mill (for wood chips) being built in my state. It will produce more greenhouse gas emissions than all the cars produce in 80 years in the state, double the amount of trees getting logged and pump out 64 million tonnes of effluent into the ocean everyday. Hence the big turn out. I posted most of these photos on my facebook, but the compression really hurts them, so I stuck my favourite two on footbag.org

They are really good. I use Ian's bags almost all the time. I also use Hania bags which are very nice. I'd recommend both to everybody, but especially Ian's because they really are top quality. I'll make a video soon too I think.

A great day. No footbag involved though.
On Thursdays I only have to work 4 hours, which is a massive win. I spend the first 2 hours of the day being trained on how to run Crystal Reports (possibly Crystal is spelt in some weird way). I am now a more desirable employee for the business world. I then had a management meeting, which was basically me, my boss, and other person sitting outside sipping tea and talking about stuff. Finally when this was over, I had a database meeting, which was all the database team people, my boss, and a data analyst (but sadly she's not a therapist as well), and all we managed to do was go over what we agreed upon on the last meeting before time was up (we didn't initially agree with what we decided last time).
The big upshot of all these, is that I'm now in a position, and indeed will have to write massive in depth reports (which are basically like code, and then they search through all the data and spit out a bunch of statistics). While writing the reports is a lot of fun, the funniest bit will be running the reports, which will take a couple of hours, during which I will not be able to do any work at all. If that's not a win, there's no such thing as winning.
At the end of my shift, one of the guys in my team came in, and he works a second job (or actually this job is his second job) as a researcher for an oyster farm. Having discussed this yesterday, he came in with a dozen fresh oysters just for me. He told me; "let me know when you've eaten them, and I'll bring you some more." So free oysters for the rest of the summer! (He's going overseas early next year). Massive massive win.
However I had to leave so that I could go play touch football. My brother and I were reffing a game before we played, but the other team didn't show up, so it was won on a forfeit, which means we were paid money to do nothing. Win.
We then played our game against a team who we had a big argument with last time we played them and drew. I presume I wrote about it, it was the game where they called me a cheater, didn't know the rules, and neither did the ref. This time around the refs were a lot better, and we smashed them 10 vs 5. I scored 4 tries and set up 2. Also one of the scores I set up, I did a moonwalk to step a girl (it's not a real moonwalk, but it's essentially looking like you're running, but not actually moving anywhere, and it's awesome) So yeah, massive win. We did give away an extra try for not wearing readable shirts, so it ended up being 10 vs 6.
Went back to Kester's and played poker while drinking rum. I started cooking the oysters. I've never cooked oysters before, so I was a little unsure what to do with them. While I was deciding, I was somehow talked into making some potato chips, which were good. The frying of the chips inspired me, and I beer battered the oysters and cooked them that way. I didn't have a recipe, but both my parents are cooks, so I'm pretty good at just making stuff up. I put in a little of some garlic paste of some sort and also some cranberry jelly, and they were awesome. It was just a shame we didn't have more

The other guy (Ben), called and it turned out he had a 5 and a 6 of hearts,- so both had shit hands. The flop comes out and it's ace of clubs, king of diamonds, 3 of clubs. Next card comes out and it's a 4 of clubs. Ben says, "I need a 2 or a 6 please." Kester says; "come on, any club for a flush." I say; "go 2 of clubs!" Final card comes out. It's a 2 of clubs; Ben gets his slightly higher straight, but Kester just manages to pip him at the post, with an ace to 5 straight flush. That's poker.
We also played a cash game, and I managed to come out just ahead (the first game was buy in, no limit hold em, no rebuys. The second is dealers choice half pot limit - and mostly we play high low 7 card stud).
However while playing the cash game, we decided to use up the remaining batter and oil from the oysters, and I cooked some battered bacon. Amazing win. So good. Like the pie in Spiderman 3, except even better. It was just so crunchy.
Feeling like we were on a roll, we looked around for other things to batter. Battered egg was suggested, but sadly not attempted. However we did go with battered cheese, which was tasty, but also basically deep fried fat, and we all felt a little sick after that.
All in all, it was a pretty awesome day, and I recommend everybody fry up some beer battered bacon right now, especially Americans, who need to fatten up more so that the Mexicans don't beat them at obesity as well as soccer.

Yeah it seems like every day is a party at the moment. I am so poor 
So today was the Hobart Beer Festival. It was very exciting. Actually although there were over 100 beers at the event, I had tried all but 9 (as far as I know). I've tried those too now. Of those 9, 6 were from overseas and 3 were from Australia ( Baron's Black Wattle Superior Wattle Seed Ale, a Coopers beer that I forget and Taverners Honey Porter). Still they were good, and almost all the other beers were pretty good too (actually the THP was rubbish). The other one which was rubbish, and probably people on this forum have tried, was Miller Chill. What an insult to beer. It's more like a teenie boppers beer for girls who don't drink beer. If I wanted to drink bitter lemonade and get drunk, I'd just put vodka shooters in solo.
Anyway got fairly drunk, had a bbq at my brother's house (porterhouse steak ftw) and then went to another bbq where a friend of mine chugged over a litre of strawberry flavoured milk (it was a 2 litre bottle, and he got about 2/3rds through). Ok effort.
Looking forward to a quite one today.
Oh yeah, some girl recognised me as; "the hackysack man." - as in she comes up and is like; "Hey, aren't you that hackysack man?" I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. Screamed like a banshee and tipped my beer over my head and she left me alone.

Yeah it's been the butt of many jokes since yesterday.
Yeah all December and January is full of events and festivals. It's a bit of a blow because my budget is pretty tight.
Basically I have no money until pay day, I then have 2 pays to save up for Christmas presents, buying plane tickets to Melbourne and the Narooma Trip. I then have 2 weeks without pay, including the whole Taste. I then have Narooma. I then have one pay to save up so I can spend money in Melbourne (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - I already have tickets obviously). I then have about a months work to pay off my credit card (which will take an absolute hammering), and hopefully I'll be debt free for the start of uni.
I'm basically rejecting a social life until Christmas, seeing if I can avoid everybody on Christmas day, and the planning on picking up some presents in January sometime Not sure if that's a great plan or not. Actually a friend of mine wrote a book recently (or at least had it published recently) so I bought 3 copies, and will give 2 away as presents.
I should get myself a case of chill mill so that I don't drink anything between now and Narooma (because every time I look at it, I'll decide I don't want a beer ).

but it's basically the story of some indigenous Australians partly written in their language. Apparently it "teaches" you the language as you go. Everybody should buy a copy so they can find out if it's any good or not

Although I'm not a nationalist, I just wanted to say how fucking good it feels that Australia has now ratified the Kyoto Protocol. About time. Considering our target was an increase of 8%, rather than a reduction of our 1990 levels, it's been so disgraceful that we haven't ratified. Huzzah!!!! There are only 2 major countries left in the world that haven't ratified it (USA and Kazakhstan).
