ha what a master piece !

Thanks for putting this out online and not on dvd.

First of all this vid is really a comparison to "footage" from Sam. This was the first video I have watched and so take it as a compliment if this vid got about the same impact on me.

How many hours did you spent to make it ?

For the angles I must say that I like the player angles the most . You know when the player looks from above on his bags, because then I can compare it to my own view.

For the music, it was not my taste but that is no criteria I guess. I got not much knowledge about music so take it as it is .

I like especially the Felix shred sections, they were really extraordinary. A little bit of Jorden Footage but fortunately there is much online so it is not a disadvantage , otherwise the vid is over one hour so it is definitely ling enough . At the last minute I was a little bit sore watching, so I guess the seize is optimum for me .

I like how you bring the atmosphere of the tournaments too . I was not at one of those but I got a few impressions now from your vid. The variety of players was absolutely choice and I am really jealous of your trips dude!

I saw such an editing like in the first part ( MAtt singing in front of and another screen in the back ) for the first time and I think it is quite cool and extraordinary.

I do not know what is the reason why you choose divx as a format, for me I think it is not good because I cannot make the video to full screen. Perhaps this was my lack of the divx player but this was the only disadvantage which came to my mind.

Really I am impressed that you can make such a video. Of course I am no expert but this video looks very professional and for releasing it online you definitely got a beer for free at the next tournament - thanks Max this was my highlight of the day !

The download sucked big time first of all ! ( 85 hours or something and then I made some internet update on another programm and the download stopped for the third time ! made me rambling at home :-))) ) Since the second link was online it took about 3 hours and that was swweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet - thanks for making this possible - join the IFPA and big props for Steve as well .

Hey all,

Sorry about the speeds and the delay in replying -- I was away at NYJ 2005 in Chicago. I put up a BitTorrent tracker with the server seeding the file so that it'll be quicker for people to download.

http://fizzied.phasing.org/bt/

In the future, I will put up all big files on that tracker so that we people won't have to spend so many hours waiting for a file.

Well, iPod format is Mpeg-4, so any converter that converts the video to this format is fine, but I agree with Mathieu that the Videora iPod Converter is the best one I've used.

On topic, thanks a lot for the video Max! It looks like you spent a lot of time making this video! I thought the editing was really well done and the music, although I don't usually listen to this type, went well with the video! I agree that the Felix sections were intense! And it was cool to see so many other players and various styles! I haven't finished watching the whole thing yet; I will edit this post after I finish!

thank you everybody for all these incredibly positive replies!!!

it makes me happy to know that you enjoyed watching my little clip.

true, i had the chace to travel quite a bit this year  maybe a bit spoiled. though the footage is only from 3 trips: LA, Tallinn in april, and worlds (+turku) in august...

the programs i used were adobe premiere for the editing itself and most of the effects, the writing i did with after effects, and one of the slomos i did with virtual dub and a little program called motionperfect.

divx did the best job on quality, that's why i used it - and for me it runs in full screen no problems.

ian, don't worry it should be up on the .org server until forever.

i didn't put it on dvd because i am not really that happy with it, i don't think the footage itself is good enough to be worthy of dvd. and this was more my editing learning project. i can't ask for money for something i am not really satisfied with.
also i found some editing mistakes when i re-watched it yesterday. in felix and yves sections, the there is one clip twice, due to a mistake with aftereffects. it kinda disrupts the flow. but whatever, too late now.

I really like the start. Man that last comment did really hurt Matt!
Yves is off the hook man!
I think as your first big video project you got around this really great but sometimes it was a bit messy.
Great idea using the beatboxing.

WOOOOOOOOOW!!! This video was insane! Wow, Max you have really made a masterpiece here! This was absolutly worth downloading twice on 56k! (Lol the first time the download corrupted at like 75%).

Most of it was shot very well, and I liked how there were some very funny bits in it! It would be hard to ask for more than that really, awesome editing, the worlds best players, cool music, and a whole hour of it all!

Thank you very much for this Max, one of the best footbag movies ever made!

thanks asmus for the first honest post in this thread :D
but maybe you could tell me what exactly you think is messy - i don't really know, do you mean that there is so many different players that should all have their own sections ? was it hard to follow?

please everybody - i appreciate critical comments very much, so tell me things you didn't like!!! of course it would have been nice to have more varied footage to start with (less tripod, too much fish eye...)

what else?

but again, it makes me happy to hear that you all seem to really like the overall video !!!
