Just had a nice, hot* shred with some NYFA members on Saturday. It's good to play in Union Square again, especially in Spring weather. I felt really energetic today, so much so that I've regain some of my shred spirit. I guess all of that kicking outside of college has helped me out of my slump, but I guess that's about it. Maybe my seasonal depression is shaking off? Regardless, I was pretty happy to go out and kick in such good weather.
I modded my G-units with a nice and clean Brocka mod. I'll be sure to take some pics of it soon. It's very different from the mod that is found from my tutorial, and is pretty comfortable. As a matter of fact, playing has felt so much better with these mods. My ankle crank definitely feels free, but not so much that you lose support of the shoe. The mod is definitely different to Lavers. I'm satisfied with the results.
Concerning shred, with a few tips from Bruce and Drew, I've nailed a couple of clean pixies and stepping sets! Finally, I can grasp the concept of uptime sets! I can finally see how much fun it is to use uptime sets with normal footbag moves that I feel a world of opportunities for my game now. However, I'm still working on my stepping and atomics, as Drew noted on stepping to be a bit weird (I think so too, as I seem to bend my support leg inward whenever I turn my hip to begin the set). Regardless, I'm sure to school them as my G-units feel comfortable enough to do drills on them. Me and atomics, however, are a complicated relationship. There are days that I understand the set, but sometimes I usually screw it up but having it hit below my dexing leg's thigh or calf. This just means that I need to relearn the set from vid clips on hoodshouse. Oh well.
(edit: forgot to mention, cool styley move I've begun to incorporate - legover heel/refracted heel? Anyway, noice!)
Ken David gave me a few tips for physical fitness and dieting a couple of weeks ago. I've taken my time to follow up on his advice, and I think it payed off. More shredding has influenced it even more. For the past few weeks, I've been doing squats/sit-ups and have eaten a healthier diet to supplement my shredding and exercise that I've seen significant results. The jeans that I usually wear seem a bit too big on me lately, like I've dropped 2 pant sizes, and I think it's because of my fitness regimen. Goodbye 33 waist, hello 30-31? I'm pretty happy with this. Also, because of the work-out I'm putting into my thighs, I feel that my uptime sets have become more comfortable to land straighter and stronger. Barefooted, I can pretty much pixie high enough so that I can duck under it. Pretty amazing.
In other news, I've been infatuating the whole day over the girl I've met on Friday afternoon. I may be exaggerating a bit, but the mere thought of her is just so... heavenly. I don't remember the last time I've ever been so happy about a girl before, or this nervous I might add. Hopefully nothing comes between us for a relationship to start. The only extreme I've found out is that she wants to transfer to a college that is closer to Brooklyn, as it takes an hour for her to get to Hunter College (located in upper Manhattan). A respectable decision, but I was never too fond of distant relationships. Still, I've been reading her moves through our conversations in person and online that she's very interested in me. We share a favorite flower, music interest, general personality and ideals. Plus, we both love to cook, though she seems to be a step above me (she cooks for her family most of the time). She noted that she wants to bake cookies for me as well.

Agh, why am I even exposing all of this into my footblog!?!? Whatev. I bet you, the people that read this, eat this up.

Anyway, I hope everything turns out for the better.
*Steamy sausage tempering at the Square. That's how hot it was (or we were). Grizzle!
