brinard
this guy is supposed to be from alice in wonderland, chapter 7. two sentry/courier type folk trade an invitation. one is a fish man, one is a frog man. i get to draw them both!
i think this guy looks like muddy mudskipper, george washington, and spongebob fish people put together. i completely imagined him, before establishing his forefathers.
things are going pretty well. im doin alright health wise.
i quit alot of bad habits.
and ive been playing alot of musical instruments.
ive got two jam sessions comin up with some friends/family (banjo/guitar jams)
and i am making art again. woot!
one more to go after that one.
i spent this weekend in chicago. it was a fun on a bun!
concert was alright. not as lame as i thought it'd be, but still not quite my style of music... the best i can describe the music was like experimental hip hop with some opera singer too. and beat box. weird.
but the day following the show, i spent with reile and marianne and we played M:tG pretty much all day. and all night.
the bad part about our trip was leaving. it was okay, until we woke up, and got ready. then we learned our flight was canceled. we had been rescheduled due to fog, and would depart monday, which wouldnt do. we went in at 630 am and ended up getting delayed until 1pm. and we had a layover on our connectoin. which was pointless, as our connector flight was 35 minutes, from memphis to nashville.
we made it home tho... it was a fun weekend, and it made me miss chicago, the people there, and M;tG. no shredding, as the freestyleres were elsewhere. s'all good. i was thrashed from the day before anyways.
well.. i suppose thats all.

life turned upside down again...
my gf Sam decided she was gay. oh well.
so i moved out of the shared bedroom, to what was the office, in our apt. we painted it grey (two months ago) so it works for me now i can do whatever the fuck i want again!
i bought my new banjo. pics later. its fucking sweet. lotsa xtra features... keith d-tuners, capo nails, and its fairly new.
school is going ok. its almost mid terms, so thats trouble brewin.
i kicked in skate shoes for a bit.. osis>butter> osis BS.. i was excited, seeing how osis was once my weakest trick. the new (Holly) bag is pretty nifty. treatin me real nice so far.
i gotta get, free cookout going on and i dont miss free hamburgers.

kicked today!! i know, who saw that coming...
anyways, it was fun. realized how out of shape i am : /
had a bsos string , bop with legovers.
attempted pdx dlo, ducking symp same butter. LOL long way to go on those.
i also started playing my banjo with finger picks... it was not easy to get used to... but after a solid day of hard playing without them, my figertips were bare and bruised. so it was a necessary change. my banjo sounds better with the picks, and its tons louder... which isnt always easy on acoustic instruments. i been working on foggy mountain break down. i got the first measures, before the "verse". there arent words, but its the part after the intro... which is also like a chorus.
gotta run, cya round.

selling yoyos to play banjos (louder).
yeah... i feel bad. im selling some of my sweet ass collectable yoyos to get some sweet ass banjo stuff... the yoyos are collecting dust, and the have passed their prime in the market for such yoyos... the euro 888, and shadow 888. they both kick ass, but i only play my anti yo's anymore, so it makes sense to sell em.
but atleast im working towards getting somthing ill enjoy, instead of collecting for the intent of having shinys and a potential resale.
-->
the amp is real neat. played one today. has spots for 2 mics, and 1 or two instrument jacks... real true to acoustic sound, plus has effects (the only ones i care for are the reverbs and the effects loops ((running a graphic equalizer in there, to shape the banjo tone even further)). 2x8, 100w. kinda loud. could be louder (i want a banjo half stack!)
a new song i about have dialed at this time...

might have to up your volume for that one.
i look mean in the vid bc im trying hard.. just learned that song that night! its much cleaner now, promise. part of the reason i want the amp is because you have to pick real hard to get a banjo as loud as i like.and then the banjo may or may not sound the same, when you attack differently. the other reason why i want the amp is because banjo is so fulfilling loud as hell. spankin the ol 5 string in the holler loud enuff for the folks on the ridge to hear!
sigh. its like search for a holy grail for every hobby i take up... atleast i can afford these items... i was spending weeks playing 6k$ banjos, and i didnt really care for them. and you have to alter your banjo to get a different sound from it... with the amp, i can model the tone/timbre and adjust it on the fly, instead of having a luthier tinker with it or myself do it and possibly fuck it up.
