Berry College Admissions Video
Berry College Admissions Video
Berry College in Rome, GA where I've gone for 2 1/2 years hired my friend Ryan to do a series of videos for the admissions department. This was the first of his videos. The video will be embedded in the Berry website and sent to prospective students. They also took a picture of me playing to put on a post card and send out to follow up the video.

This video rocks. I love the settings and it flows really well. I especially liked when you were playing in the middle of the lake, and i thought the presidents office was a funny place to play. Heres a question, whats that ball thing in the science center? I was trying to figure it out, but it just looks like floating ball to me. All in all though fantastic video, the shred was really good and consistent, and the camera work and editing was well done. Props.

Coleman! Nice video. It makes me want to go to that college. Good shred, too. The vid is really well edited, I thought. I does a very good job of giving the impression of one long continuous dropless string.
As for the pendulum, I believe that is what is often called a Foucault Pendulum. It is a very famous old science experiment. I think you may have misunderstood the principle, though. The pendulum is not kept in motion by the earth's rotation, rather, it demonstrates the earth's rotation. That is, it is difficult for one to actually observe the earth rotating when one is standing upon it. From our vantage point, we seem to be standing still while the sun and stars revolve around us. The pendulum, though, constantly changes the angle that it is swinging at. Back and forth, back and forth, the angle of the swing eventually turns a full 360 degrees, demonstrating that the earth is rotating. That is probably why this pendulum has a little sand box beneath it that the needle traces lines into. By those lines one can see that the plane the pendulum is swinging on is moving at little bit with each swing. Some other examples of this experiment line up blocks in a circle around the pendulum for the plumb to knock over, one at a time, as it gradually traces out it's circle -- esentially, when the blocks are set up right, the pendulum acts as a clock, knocking over one block each hour, for instance. Anyway, you can read about these devices here:

Oh, and its also the title of a well-known novel that I've been meaning to read. Some say that its the precursor to "The DaVinci Code", like, the original super-grand-conspiracy novel.
Hmm... sorry to ramble, but I just love these kinds of classic science experiments.

That was sweeet. Sometimes it looked like you were standing in a set of a play, especially at the mill. Something about the lighting being so uniform (no shadows?)... The chapel, island, reservoir and mill shred were my favorite.
I've been actually wanting to do the same thing at my college, but I doubt it'll happen.
I hope your video gets lots of attention!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. And thank you Jon for the clarification on the pendulum, good thing I'm not a science major.
I agree that this is one of the best songs for shred videos but also the most overused. Since it's not really a shred video, but made for potential Berry students who havn't seen Kampa Park(love that video) I thought I'd suggest it, and the guy who made the video loved the song.
I think my favorite shot to watch is the one in the president's office but my favorite one to shoot was definitely the cows. When we got out there there were just two cows eating out of a bucket a few yards behind the fence. When I went over, one of them came over to look at me. As I was playing Ryan said "keep going the other one's coming over." When I stopped he said "Whoa keep going". When I turned around every cow in the field was sprinting towards me.
What I learned making this video:
Cows love footbag.

Yeah.
This made me want to go there too!
Brilliant. I also liked the quality of the video. Umm, and what else. Oh, I know the music is really overused, and that was one of my first impressions, but it didn't bother me once I was completely enthralled by the scenery.
I liked how your shred slowly progressed too. I really liked seeing the assassin on one side and phoenix on the other!
I liked the old mill, and the reservoir, and the meadow with the deer or something???

Yeah I've only hosted one tournament before and I've been dreaming for a few years how cool having one a Berry would be but every year somewhere near the beginning of the planning process I remember how much work it is to plan a tournament and I chicken out. Maybe someday I'll work up the courage.
Yeah it was fun shooting a video with a guy with a E-media degree and an HD camera.
I like the resevoir shot too, there's a ladder on the backside of that tower in the water that you can climb up and jump out of the window.
