I really hate the organization. First 3 days was it good but after this was everything shit. The gym was small and slippery, for the organization team was most important party then all competition. The players hadnÂ´t got good place for warm up, awards ceremony was in club where was everybody drank and championship was with freesbe freestyle,

Maybe for guests and fans it looks good, but for players it was really bad!!!!

I think Vasek didn't make any effort at all. He was busy with his football-juggling tricks and other things. He only competed in Open routines, as far as I know, and got canceled for sick03 or something. This only shows me, that if he had competed in all disciplines he must have made an effort.

Watch some videos of him. Winning worlds only makes you world champion, not the best player (saw a sentence like that somewhere inhere). This year it was quite different. Because there were no Moir and Penske and others, perhaps the level of routines was different.

Well yes, this is quite surprising and must have been a very difficult decision for the judges. Anyways, worlds were OK. Though comparing to Worlds 2006 in Frankfurt, this was just bad. I mean, when people pay such a high entering-fee they should get something huge for their money. I have no clue where this huge thing should be... in fact, you can't always organize a boombastic worlds-tournament. Overall worlds were fun. Meeting the people, shredding a bit, filming, partying and visiting the town really was awesome. Somehow I just feel pretty sorry for the competitors who had to pay such a big amount of money for very little things. And I don't think they really needed it to cover the costs, cause I didn't see these costs anywhere.

Olaf did'nt make BAP for the same reason Sergey did'nt win circle.

The use of toes.

If Olaf can be half has good on toes has he his on clippers, his game would be amazing.

Hey folks,

thanks to Prague crew for organizing that event! I have to admit 2003 were way better done, but since I did not compete I had no expenses and was not stressed out. I liked the atmosphere, meeting lots of players and friends. party locations were cool too! I liked the weird contrast between bunker and next night VIP lounge! hehe, crazy. and an awards ceremony at almost 3 a.m. can only happen with footbag! I like it. hehe.

anyway, now to the reason for my post. made some pictures! take a look if ya want. not too many footbag, but I think TMS did a good job. waiting for more to come!

here are some thoughts reflecting nothing but my personal experience:

flops:

1. no water on site
2. no food exept ugly baguettes and a red pepper to go (wtf?)
3. hilariuos prizes for softdrinks
4. no love
5. net was lowest prio ever
6. no place to play at the last three days
7. paid more than 100$ for almost nothing
8. 4 days no warm water at hostel
9. max getting hit by some local fucker
10. polish kids wanting to beat up that fucker

tops:

1. czech beer
2. czech girls (in the city, not at the site, that is)
3. nice party locations
4. nice booklet
5. nice and cheap hostel
6. well... i just love the city.

afterall worst worlds i have ever attended.
i had a lot of fun too, but being back and thought it over, i could have spent the money and my time way better...

I'd like to second Tobias' post. I really loved my first worlds. Yes, some things could have been better, but instead of bitching about it on modified, I think some general constructive criticism to the Czech crew and IFPA would be the right thing to do, so we can all contribute to a better worlds next year. But I think we all have to respect the voluntary time and effort these guys put into it!!!

I had tons of highlights during the week... the most sad thing was actually hearing people bitch too much. I know I'm not a 'serious' competitor, and yes it sucked with such bad conditions during the rainy days... but that said... I had a fan-fucking-tastic time!!

So great to meet tons of new people, seeing friends from around the globe again and just chilling, shredding, laughing, drinking beer and generally just have a great time.

I'm sure we'll all learn from this years bad things - and good things... but all in all, the atmosphere and the fact that net and freestyle were so close made it all worth the while!!!

- every day you got baquette, snickers and different fruits for free, well it was included in the registration fee. There was like 10 restauratns and 5 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk..

- what other tournament there was a possibility to buy such a stuff? As I said supermarket was like max 5 minutes far... huge one

4. no love

- Well, it was like any other Worlds, only in Frankfurt ot was kind of more visible...

- last 2, but as I said before here those last 2 days really sucked, I know..

7. paid more than 100$ for almost nothing
Food, competition fee, players pack.. You pay this every year at Worlds, only this time it was a little more because the local currency was the fastest growing one in the World for last 6,5 months, blame us for that..

8. 4 days no warm water at hostel
- That sucks.. I would be pissed as well

9. max getting hit by some local fucker
- It was a russian guy by the way..

10. polish kids wanting to beat up that fucker

True, there was free water in the toilet. But I wonder how did the Frankfurt crew pull it off by offering free bottles every second.

As for food, I think it was ok. But again, compared to Frankfurt, where you got a selection of so many things, this looked a little poor.

I also heard that net players had it rough (even for their standards).

My pros and cons would go like this:

PROS
-nice event site (It was close to the city and had great surface for shred. I also liked the spectator stand where you could chill and watch the shred or the competition)

-sticking to the timetable (It was obvious that the organizers wanted to stick to the schedule and they did a good job)

-TMS and his photographic sessions with the players (where will we see that, btw?)

-taking care of specific player's needs (yes, those needs)

-cute blond girl from the organization crew (rawwwr)

-dexter's microphone escapades (he never gets old)

CONS
-lack of shred music (For real, people..this is my biggest complaint. There was absolutely NO music to shred to and I can only thank Paul C. and his docking station which saved the day. And when we had music, there were like 4 songs on repeat. Shame)

-player's bag (You've had WAY better PB at Todexon, I wonder what went wrong here. Planetfootbag socks were the highlight of PB's content, so you can guess it from here)

-parties (I honestly don't know what all of you saw in those parties, but I failed to see it -and I love to party, btw. I am sure that Prague has better stuff to offer during it's high tourist season)

Still, congratulations to all of the organizers for pulling it off. We had a blast

hey justin...nice hostel??? wich one were you in? the penzion was just cheap, no more plus there.

but in fact i wanna say thanks to czech crew as well.

just try to make it even better next time and weÂ´ll all be fine.

edit: i wanna see tmz pics also, he must have taken so many.

were will they be? on footbag.cz or on some other special site?

Overall my Worlds experience this year was awful, but that's nothing personal against the organizers. I realize that it must take a lot to organize a world championships, even for such a small sport. I started with a nice impression of Prague -- beautiful buildings and cheap stuff, but definitely ended with wanting to get the hell out -- a terrible event with little to no footbag, friends getting beat up, a terrible hostel with no hot water (or toilet paper), and nobody speaking English. To me, it definitely wasn't Andrew McCarger's "Happiest Place On Earth".

I actually found a lot of use for the blue Volkswagon bag, as they don't give you bags for your groceries. I'm still using it in other cities in Europe.

like i said, it was a very selfreflected post i made.

to clear that up: everybody i knew was really nice and friendly there. it was my 5th time in prague and i will definately be there again! thats why i asked you (honza) on monday to thank all the staff in my name. i have no hard feelings towards anybody and i will type my criticism in a constructive form as soon as i can. fyi: i have organized 3 tourneys myself and was involved in a few others as well... so i'm not just standing here ranting.
i urge every host to have free water on the site.
having a water-tap deep inside the catacombs of the stadium doesnt really help during a timeout, on a court on the other side of the stadium.
in mpl, vienna and ffm the refilling was either way easier or even done by friendly people. which is also why i wrote "no love" because most of the time i had the feeling i was rather disturbing somebody (like when i needed the net-sets, that were still locked away at 11h). were there any chzech involved in net organisation?

and then there was no food on monday because there was no freestyle going on.. please?!? that way we learned where to get the biggest pizza closeby, so it made a little sense. and from wednesday on we went there again because the baguette was "uargs". and _one_ fruit per day doesnt solve the issue. how much would it have cost to give away some bananas?
or have a coffee/cornflakes/bread+butter in the morning so people would not have to get something every day. and still i think that selling water for the same price as beer on the tournament site (some people just dont drink the water from the taps in a stadiums restroom, you know) is not the way to go. having a supermarket closeby does not mean you should sell a cola/water for 25czk.

the players pack i got had only socks as useful thing in it. who needs those bags and 3 types of weed-accessories? oh, i forgot the cupholder. but i doubt that was really expensive.

marco: our room in the penzion was very nice and clean, but i have not seen any other rooms. the receipton sucked and a team-member at the major arrival day, who could have translated, would have saved a lot of time and nerves. but overall i was fine. i showered at the stadium most days.

THE WFA USE TO SAY "were the players make the difference". That said 2003 was way better. I am not sure what people mean when they say net was low prority. I had fun spent $2000 and would do it again in a min. Thanks too all the volunteers!!!!!!!!

the best thing about this year's worlds is the outrageous number of stories it has given me to tell to friends back home. thanks to the organizers for putting it on. Tournament organization is always a thankless job.
