Thanks for that. I'm the exact same way with my mental game and get really discouraged by other people's progress. Hearing that has put things in perspective. Also, about stepping, I find that what helps is a combination of a couple things: a very straight back, a deep delay (while having a straight back), a fast dex, and a close-to-pogo dex, like in atomic. There are a lot of similar concepts in atomic and stepping.
