The Joulukalenteri (Christmas calendar)

Post by Tuukka » 26 Nov 2005 11:15

Hey, maybe this is too much, but I will try put up 24 videos in December, so one every day like a Christmas calendar. This is mostly because I have some vids I haven't published from last few years and because Jere's calendar project won't be happening.

These vids will be rendered with high quality so there might be over 200mb vids too. Also we have limited space in the server so we can't keep those vids up too long (let's say few days) so be sure to d/l them fast enough.

okay, stay tuned.

haha, don't thank me yet :D I still need to make those vids :P
Some of then have very bad editing (stupid effects and so on, since I edited them like 2 years ago) so I haven't published them earlier, but we'll see then. Tomorrow it starts.

10k/s. 4 hour download. Cable Internet Connection.

EDIT: Now a 9 hour download.

EDIT EDIT: Maybe this should be thrown on bittorrent? That way you wouldn't have to worry about bandwidth on your webserver...and it might download a bit faster too, if people seed it nice.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: 18 hours

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: Downloading for 30 minutes, 493kbs so far. Phew. Maybe I'm really far away or something? Ah well. Can't wait to see it!!! :D

Tukka, you are the best! This is so awesome!

I'm mirroring it now. I'll have a link in a bit.

I was getting over 150kb/s which is fast enough for me. Can't download it yet though because it's way too big and apparantly our download limit is almost up so I would get in trouble. Will these be archived - can I still download it on the 15th?
Cheers,

Tuukka, I was excited when this idea was first announced, and now I'm mondo excited you're actually doing it!!! Thanks a ton.!

And I'm getting ~360 kb/s and ~8 minutes download, so either the mirroring is done, there were a lot of people downloading it before, or your connection blows, Señor Skippy. :?

Thanks a lot for a cool initiative Tuukka. 8)

The first vid was super sweet. Creative editing, solid filming cool music, and some sweet shred clips from the summer 03. Great to see more film from Kampa Park where some of the best sideline shred took place.

Some how, I recognise the intro scene from an old Danish Comedy Xmas calendar TV show. I was called “The Julekalender” and was pretty successful and funny. I know that Norway and Sweden copied the concept later and made their version of “The Julekalender”. Maybe I am wrong but the house, wind, snow and music really reminded of the Danish TV show in 24 parts from 1991. http://www.steenelm.com/playdose/ :?:

One last question: What does TRIO Saleti mean?

I really look forward to see what’s behind nr. 2 on the calendar.

:D

mentor: actually I copied the start from that serie :) it is hilarious, and Finland probably copied it too. Triosaletti is just a producer of that or something :) I wanted the picture to be there longer and editing the text away would have been too complicated :P
I edited this vid back in 2003, but editing sucked so I didn't put it online, hehe.
The move Ales hits in the end, was the first time he hit it.

:D :D :D

Aw man, THANK YOU! This video calendar thing is such a great idea, and what a good video to kick things off with! That vid was so good! It was great to see Yacine, Kenny, and skinny Ales footage. And the croxton was so cool! I really liked the video intro, and the shred on the airplane vidscreens was really original too. Great start. Big props all around.
