I know the typical filler is on the small end; I personally use 7.5 size shot in my bags (or did when I still made bags). I'm sure small-sized filler is ideal for freestyle bags and play where stalling and finer bag control is a concern, but I was curious if anyone has ever experimented with larger ...

Cheezus, that's really good looking for your first bag and a 32 panel, no less. My first 32 turned out really small as well and my first 12 panel turned out huge.

I hope copper plated lead doesn't damage the bags because I bought 10lbs of the stuff. It does flake off but I think washing the bag a few times gets rid of most of the flakes. But I don't see how the flakes would be any worse than sand or grit.

Great, now you got me thinking about it. Those bags are pretty tight. Primary colors, too.

Actually I was planning on making some solid orange and green bags, just gotta get the fabric...

Thanks for the reply. I'm mainly looking for a good orange color, so I'll probably check out Burnt Orange. And I plan on sewing only 12 panels and maybe some 14's, so if I do get Fresh Lime, the thickness shouldn't be too much of a problem (hopefully).

Has anyone tried Tangerine, Burnt Orange or Fresh Lime?

It's a Canon Powershot A630; F-stop at 7.1 and shutter speed at 2 seconds.

Two new bags as compared to a container of Play-Doh! I guess I'm making bags again; mainly 14 panels but I might whip up a 32 or two for fun.

This is my second attempt at using triangles instead of hexes. I'm working on another one right now and trying it with a bit more gather.

Aside from the first attempt, which I label as an experiment, this is the first bag I've made in about a year.
