Today was the start of school for me, I haven't been to school in years, all I've been doing is work, now it seems that life is just flipping around. Parents devorced, I've moved out of the house, changed job location, starting school, and all sorts of changing things are going on. I'm keeping physical health and footbag near the top of the priority list so I keep working out and playing.

Today I had a short session after I exercised. I didn't have a whole lot of time to play since I needed to get back home and study...which I haven't done yet, but I will...i will. I hit Blizzard > Toe Drifter BSOS (both sides one string) . Also hit dyno BSOS, I worked on my flipside a bit and studied the movements so now it is easier mentally. Everything seems to be coming together quite well, my flip fairies, pixies, atomic, stepping, and whirls are all becoming stronger together. My spins are becoming more doable instead of me feeling like I'm going to fall on my face, and my ducking is becoming effortless. Drifters are also coming in to where I can throw them in here and there. I don't believe I've hit any new moves, I really want flip barfly, but my left leg has been having trouble with the circular motions... All I have to do to continue progress is do what I've been doing, enjoy my game and play.

FINALLY i'm getting back into footbag. I hurt my ankle pretty bad at worlds, and i don't think it'll ever be 100% again, but i'm playing on it.

SO i started sessioning a little. the past two sessions haven't been GREAT, but i did hit a few new concepts/moves that i'm pleased with. one was my first symple swirl and another was ps blender. one move is a secret one that i am waiting to get on tape and then the other great thing that i'm really excited about is the first pop up of my flip surging set.

so yea. thats about it for me.

OH! AND i got my new Touzlet bag and it is fucking awesome. Best hand-stitched bag i've ever used. it's perfect for my style.

The whole crew finally had a session together, I good ole 2.5 hours of hard shred after work. My hips are a little bit sore right now, of course if I would have gotten more than 4 hours of sleep, they'd probably feel a little better. As for shred, I thought everyone was playing pretty well, it was the usual Brad busting like woah, Bob hitting short strings, myself hitting short strings  You know how it goes.

I won't say what everyone was hitting because I kinda forgot, I can bearily remember what I was hitting. I have a new set that is pretty cool, it's fairy pixie, instead of pixie fairy. I think it's cleaner than my original wiggling set. I almost hit wiggling (pixie fairy set) mirrage > Jiggling (just thought of that set - it's really early...ok !?) ( fairy pixie set ) Butter. I also tried some symposium barraging set, reminding you that I haven't hit anything barraging yet, but the set felt as good as regular barraging set, so that was cool. I also hit surging toe twice in a row, I'm horrible at spins, but for some reason brad and bob said it was clean. I might just mess around with that everyonce in a while, but it isn't anywhere on my priority list. Footed tap>atomsmasher repeat, it was pretty cool because I started it at the beginning of a song, so I made it better than it really was. I still want longer strings, better drifters, whirls, and everything else I'm already doing, better. I know I could accomplish all of those if I kicked like that atleast once a week, I usually don't get into footbag like I did last night, playing till I'm dead tired, sweating every ounce of energy out of myself, and then wanting more.

Next session, I'll work on hitting swivel, torques (they're horrible !), blenders, paradox whirls, and just longer strings. In general I'll do what I usually do and just play, do what I feel like doing, and enjoy myself.

Edit : quick analysis of Brad and Bob.

Brad : that kid is nuts, nuts, and bananas. He's busting bigger than every before, as everyone elses level of play has been jumping up (pros) , brad has been catching up, nuts I say. Big moves, big strings, that's how I like it. *hit bullwhip, footed void > void , big apples here and there, gangsta party, whirs like nothing, blenders everywhere, symposium whirls anywhere, spinning ducking whirls look easy, pretty f'n solid.

Bob : Oh bobby, bobby, bobby, you need to play more and stop womaniziin ! Given he has a messed ankle, he is still playing mostly pain free, although he still has some sort of knee problem. Strings are short, and play hasn't jumped up a whole lot, though he says he hasn't been playing by himself much, so it's expected he doesn't come home and suprise the shit out of me. So onto a more positive note, his gyro diving..I believe that's what he was hitting, looks fricken Sweet and easy ! Still has his surging sets that look nice and clean. Just needs to work on string length and accuracy of where bag hits on the shoes (leg control).

I think we should make Friday night an official shred night after work hours.

Yeah, I'm down for Friday sessions. That last one was really fun.

I made some videos from a couple of my sessions. There's nothing huge, but they're entertaining atleast :?: The first one is from sometime last week and the second is from today.

Well, I had a lonely Friday night session, I was expecting atleast one person to show, possibly Brad or Bob. Since they are the only ones that kick with me, but no luck. I just had a jam by myself and worked on everything like always. Nothing new was hit that I recall, I think through the whole night I had one good string with lots of 3's and 4's. Other than that it was just a good ole time.

My left leg is still becoming stronger, I can do symposium moves off of it without any pain. Shin splints on that side are very minimal, so practicing my stepping sets is becoming much more pleasurable. I also updated www.hoodshouse.com with brad's new vid, and changed a couple things here and there. Hopefully some people will just stumble upon them...

Brad * we need to make a new video, and we really need more Bob footage.

Played with John today downtown. We had a friend film the whole time, but the footage came out really bright when I captured it so it's pretty useless. We weren't playing so well anyways so it's no big deal. I was hitting jani walkers bsos and spinning pdx whirl<ps whirl repeat. My strings were pretty weak today, but I haven't been consistent in my practice because of work. John did fairy pixie butterfly clean. If I can salvage the vid, I'll put up a slow mo of it. I also did flurry<pixie dod which I think is a cool looking combo. I like on champions league how Vasek repeats it.

I had a pretty fun solo session. I got to the point where I just kept playing like I would with other people around me. I finally polished off flip barfly, I was suprised I hit it because it felt like the rest of them. Most of the time, it looks like I'm gonna geeet iii...NOPE, I usually nick it somewhere in the dexing, but I pulled it off this time.

I had superfly off my foot, and I absolutely know I can hit ducking paradox drifter both sides. I tried and tried again, but both sides were so close. A fun combo I hit tonight was reverse swirling pick up> DLO > Op Butter > Reverse Swirling pick up > DLO/drop . Almost had fear > atomsmasher > fear > atomsmasher/drop . Spinning, torques, blenders, and whirls are still pretty horrible. I can tell those will just take a while. I am looking forward to this weekend, my friends will be in from college, and I want to do some filming this Saturday.

In response to people's posts in the new moves section:

Not to be a dick or anything, but how can you guys say that that set was clean???? The vid was at such an angle that is was impossible to tell. Also, Hood's LEG was far above the bag after the fairy making the pixie set appear not "clean" in my opinion. For sets to be "clean", does not the bag have to rise above the leg that sets it? In this case, that would mean the bag being above hoods leg after the fairy part of the set, followed by hood's leg beating the bag up for the pixie part of the set as well?? Am I wrong? I dont think that example of the set was clean. It may be able to be hit cleanly though. This is open for discussion . . .

If you watch the video at the 6th second (a slomo frame), notice how jon has his knee raised in a (presumably) inside position. On the next frame, he pushes his leg OUTWARDS, and the bag is DIRECTLY under his leg.

Therefore, the dex has passed, because otherwise his leg would be on the outside of the bag, not directly above it, after the inital fairy.

Brad Nelson is good at footbag, I wish I could shred with him more often. Inside stalls are...inside. Still fun though. You know what we ought to have? A circle with me, Nick the motherfucker Laroche, Brad Good at Footbag Nelson and John the bomb Magood. Maybe Chilly Philly?

Set that shit up!!!

These are my new black suede shoes, bought off of ebay. The mods I did include sliced off the first 2 laces and then used black rubber tubing around it, also used a strip on the inside. These shoes are pretty rare on ebay, you will only see them every once in a while, with maybe one or two sizes selling.

They seem to work pretty well given that tonights session was pretty pumped. I nailed vertigo first try on one side, and hit it again out of fairy op butter second try. Pretty fuckin gnarly. I was able to also hit it flip later in the session. The other 2 new moves that come to mind were flip flail and fairy pixie mirage. Superfly was pretty close, and swivel was too close , about 10 times. Finally hit paradox whirl > paradox whirl, I'm having a hard time with those whirl moves, but as I work on them, they slowly get better.

I was hoping Bob would show up and suprise me, but no luck. Brad was shredding with me, shredding alright, but it seemed we were both going for bigger moves today, not bigger strings. I was supposed to save some shred for bob, since he is going to be the Birthday boy...buuut I kicked for about 3 hours. Oh well, we'll see how I'm doing when I wake up, he's the birthday boy, so if he wants nemesis , he gets nemesis, whether I'm sore or not..oh wait, I can't barrage set. Ok, so he gets Vodka if he wants, and that he shall get.

I'm listening to Life and Death by Blaze right now. It's the only really good song off the new album. I was pretty disappointed with it. 3IoB's new album comes out Tuesday so not all is lost in the metal world.

I played poorly again today. I blame it on the fact that my knee has been killing me since last night. I didn't do anything. I was just sitting here talking to people on AIM and when I stood up, there was a sharp pain the back of my knee. It kept me from sleeping much. It felt better thoughout the day so I played tonight anyways. It's pretty damn sore now though. I probably need to slip the brace back on  I did hit a beast though...can't remember if it's a new one. It was pretty easy, but I don't remember doing it before.

John hits new tricks all the time now. If he'd play more often, he'd fly by me in no time. I think his tubing mod is pretty cool especially for all the anti-toe box people out there.

Tomorow is a party among friends in honor of ol' Bobbo's birthday. Shred first of course since it's so rare to get him to a session. I'm looking forward to the festivities: videogames, drinking, laughing, and hanging out with friends. I remember in highschool when we could do this stuff all the time...minus the drinking, but still, the free time is missed.

James Rules the McMoshpit: We'll do that for sure at Chilly Philly.
