Software

Post by Shaun »

If anyone knows of some software I can use to make the lyrics and the beat of a song into two different files can you please post it. I need to do this so I can make an instremental cd for footbag purposes. I like instrumentals of songs instead of the lyrics and stuff.

It would probably be easier and quicker to just download the instrumental version of the song from a P2P.

Thanks for the Cool Edit Pro recommendation. I would just get it from Kazaa, but they never work for me.

Most of the time, this won't work, or it will sound like crap.
The reason you can sometimes separate the two, is that the lyrics are generally centered between the two channels (left and right), and you can Invert one of the channels, which cancels out the lyrics but probably also cancels out some of the music. Not a great way to do it.

If you can find the instrumental version of a track, that is definitely the best way to do it. From there, you can subtract the instrumental version from the full version to get the lyrics alone (never done this, but it should work) You'd also have to line up the two tracks perfectly, which should be possible in cooledit.

I hope that helps somewhat.
