Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing some more footage of you (I loved the Eurogals video). You've got great style (reminds me a lot of Allan, also one of my favorites to watch on video) - totally smooth and totally controlled. Anyway, I'll stop hijacking this thread.

it's pretty straight forward - you click on "Videos" and then you click on "Europe on Fire" - maybe that's too complicated for you Chris :P

This video is amazing by the way - complete insanity. There is some awesome stuff on this - even if you have a dial up like me - you should definitly download it!!

Wow.... definitely a WOW
incredible video guys. i love the quality and the editing and everything about it! The shred was off the hook esp from that guy from Estonia, Vasek as usual, Ales going hard out
amazing video, thanks so much!

Can i ask, what video setup do you use for this? What camera model, capture facility, editing program do you use? Because i have a new camera and i cant reproduced any where near this kind of quality at full screen.

hmmmm
first of all thanks to everybody who gave some comment :D
i see it was worth the work i had and i´m happy you all like it :DDD

second thing....

i use adobe premiere to edit the video
i´ve got an canon xm2 camera
i encode with virtual dub (wmv 9.0 codec)

i don´t know how the uncompressed picture quality of other dv cams is, but i think you should be able to get such a video quality with all newer cameras! the right codec is very important!
i´m a bit tired right now, so i´ll just post something i already posted in the footbag.org forum!

from footbag.org
hm
i think both, bjoern and alex, are wrong...
first of all the encode thing is very tricky. it ain´t easy and it´s wrong that more work implicates a better quality and smaler size!
microsoft might be some capitalistic bad ass brandmark, but wmv 9.0 is definatly one of the best codecs i´ve ever tried and used! it´s very easy to use and the size <> quality relation is really good! i never got better results with divx oder xvid.
i didn´t need to experiment with wmv i just choose 2 options: good quality and deinterlace
in order to get a smaler size you need to compress the audio part, that´s very important.
divx often doesn´t do this, then you´ll have a compressed video and 44.1 audio sample, then the audio part is bigger than the video part itself!
i think divx is too hard to handle and xvid is the most trouble making codec ever(one day it works the other day it crashes your pc)!
from my point of view wmv is definatly the best codec ....

Ahh i see, i looked up your camera model on google and it is a much more advance model than my camera. Yours is a 3CCD camera, which basically means the picture quality is far better than a 1CCD or less camera, which i have :?
oh well, ill just have to do what i can with my one. I dont have heaps of money so what can i do? :) :P

excellent work with this video again, very impressive
thanks for your reply Sebastian

hey ian!

it´s not that much about the ccd! the lense is much more important!
well i don´t know what camera model you got, but i really think you should be able to get that picture quality. (but i still can be wrong;P)
i´ll try to show my "work steps":

1. i capture with adobe premier, from fire wire > i´ll get a video file which is about 240megs/min, this is a dv compressed video file! if you capture analog you´ll have some quality loses! then you should capture in highest quality you are able too!

2. I edit this files with adobe premiere!(www.adobe.com > there you are able to DL some demo) ( i always capture long parts about 20mins and then use a programm called "scenalyzer" it automaticly cuts your big video file in small parts! go to: www.scenalyzer.com for furter information! )

3. When i´ve finished editing my video, i´ll export it UNCOMPRESSED! you´ll get a video file with about 240 meg/sec > you get a very huge file, but it´s the best way for further encoding!
you may use another opportunity: export your video directly from your premiere timeline to your camera using "dv-in" (if your camera supports this) and then "re-capture" it on your pc!
with this two ways your quality loose is very small!

4. The new finished, but uncompressed video file now needs to be compressed! I use a programm called virtual dub, which is easy to use and brought me good results! (www.virtualdub.org) There you´ll have two important options:
i. video: chose full processing mode > compression and there you´ll be able to select your codec. like i said i prefer wmv 9.0! if you use wmv you need do one more step:video > compression > configure > pre-processing: de-interlace frames and encode!
ii. audio: chose full processing mode > compression and there you´ll be able to select your codec. i use MP3! don´t forget to compress your audio part! it´s very important! i think 96 kb/s should be enough.
last but not least you need to select a place where to save the file:
file>save as avi> "chose your folder"

This should be all!
Feel free to ask for more...

Yeh i think my problem is just in the camera, like i do similar to you when i upload my footage, i use Premiere 6.0 with a Firewire connection and i capture in PAL DV format, but the quality just isnt up to scratch compared to yours. Thats before ive even edited it or compressed it.
Thankyou for all this information though, it will be very helpful for me when i finally get time to make my first video!

thanks alot :)

sorry everyone for hijacking this thread! Everyone get back to giving Sebastian mad props for his kickass video :D
