My new shoes are red - red is my favourite colour. I have a red shred shirt for every day of the week

7 red shirts, sheesh. I only have one which I got from my sister on her trip to Las Vegas.
This isn't goign to be a long post, seeings how I'm tired and have to wake myself up for school tomorrow morning.
Yesterday I didn't do strings. Go figure. The lighting is too bad for that. I can't turn 90 degrees without being distracted by my big fat shadow. It's very annoying. Regardless, I hit a Atom Smasher > Atom Smasher, Rev. Swirl > Rev. Swirl (both on bs) and... I can't really remember what else went down.
Tonite was decent. I hit Janiwalker (not new) and Witchdoctor on both sides. I also hit PS Whirling XBody Rake. It feels pretty sweet, so long as you don't kick your calf. I also came really close to hitting Whirling Rev. Swirl. That is such a weird trick, but definitely do able. I just need to get a faster uptime Whirl and I'll be set.
What else did I do tonite... worked a bit on Symp / PS Whirls. I'm really trying to focus on landing on the balls of my feet. It's hard, but it's probably best to learn it that way for my shins sake.
Anyways, that's about it. My left knee is in a bit of pain from the barraging sets tonite. Fuck. I don't want to lose my barraging set on that side, but at the same time I don't want to not injure my knee. Blaaaaaaaaaaah. I don't know why it hurts, it doesn't feel as though I'm doing anything different in comparison with my right leg.
But yeah, that's my story. It was a bit longer then intended, but oh well. Later

Alrighty...
Not a long one again, it's too late to post a story right now and I don't think anyone really likes reading a 500 word post
Anywho, yesterday I didn't feel like kicking but I did anyways. I couldn't hit very much but still managed a Pixie Miraging Flail. I posted that it was my first 5 add toe > toe trick, but upon later contiplation I realized that Stampede was actually my first toe 5 add trick. This would be my second I do believe.
Tonite went a lot better. I drilled fairy sets, atomic sets, hit Whirr again (though I cant' seem to clean up the last dex) and finally worked on stepping + pixie sets Here are the results:
Fairy ss Mirage x 3
Tap > Tap bs
Atom Smasher > Atom Smasher bs
Some close attempts at Revstein
Ripwalk x 3
EDIT - Dimwalk > Blur (rpt) bs (dropping on the 3rd Dimwalk on bs
)
Yeah, not too impressive but I was happy with it. I was in a much better mood tonite, and it showed. My stepping sets were doing really good tonite, a pleasant surprise for me seeings how they haven't been used in months. I NEED them back! I'm finding b2b Atom Smashers to be easier and easier these days which is sweet - Rubberman will be conquered very shortly.
Anyways, that's about it. I can't wait to hook up with the Edmonton crew this weekend. It's going to be so awesome. I must sharpen thy blades!

i dont think you have to worry about "losing" your barraging set if you dont practice it for a few days. Itll still be there, but th legs will just move a tad slower. Itll take no more than 2 sessions to get it back up to par I imagine.
please explain your pixie miraging flail . . . how is it hit?

Yeah, good point Jeremy. I think, for my knee's sake, I won't be putting more then a few attempts each session on barraging sets. I did 3 on each side last nite, and that didn't seem to affect them that much. They were sore this morning, but I assume it's just from everything else I did during my session.
And to clarify Pixie Miraging Flail I'll post the jobs and the video.
Toe > Same In >> Op In > [no plant while] Op Out > Op Toe

Thanks Jeremy. Now if only I could do flails with my left leg...
I had a pretty sweet session in preperation for tomorrow. I basically went over a lot of things, hit a few sweet links and found out that my weakside double downs are actually funky looking Butterflies. Arg!
Anyways, I guess I'll just sum it all up.
I went over Drifters, Pdx Drifters & Vortex, DLOs & Pdx DLOs, Eggbeaters & Pdx Eggbeaters, Torques, Mobius & Pdx Torques, Pdx Whirls, Symp Whirls & Tomahawks, and finally more Rev. Swirls.
Some links I did:
Pdx Whirl > Torque bs
Pdx Whirl > Rev. Swirl bs
Tomahawk > Rev Swirl
Tomahawk > Spinning Pdx Whirl (off the foot)
Symp Whirl > Rev. Swirl bs
Ripwalk > Rev. Swirl bs
Drifter > Rev. Swirl bs
And yeah, I think that's it. Basically, I want to learn to do Rev. Swirls out of my clipper tricks. I can't wait until tomorrow

I haven't posted in a few days, so I guess I'm due for a blog entry.
What to report. I finally got to kick with Kevin and Mike (Rory) on Sunday + Monday. It was soo fun. They are both awesome, not only to shred with but to hang out with too. Kevin was such a good host, and I enjoyed all the time I spent there. It's so hard to remember all that went down - everyone was hitting crazy stuff. Kevin and his intense toe combos, I had a few good links and Rory brought such a positive atmosphere to the circle (as well as hitting some sweet tricks
).
I'm really hoping to be able to kick with them as often as I can, which means I'll have to learn how to drive in the big city
. Eeek! That was something I was never ever good at doing... but I can learn... I will learn... for footbag... Yes, I will learn for footbag. And for friends. For footbag and for friends.

You won't believe what I did.
Tonite I went into a session with the intent on drilling DLOs, Eggbeaters and stepping sets. For the most part I did. The DLOs went well, but as soon as I got into Eggbeaters my session went downhill. I couldn't hit them worth crap and they tired me out real quickly. I didn't like that.
So, after many many failed Eggbeaters I did a few Blurs and Ripwalks and for shits and giggles I tried a few Janiwalkers. On one of the attempts I cranked my right knee and now it hurts when I bend it + put weight on it. Not good at all. You won't believe what I did next.
After calling the session quits, I got undressed, had a shower, grabbed my Lavers and walked up to my mother.
"Mom, can I ask a favour of you?"
"I don't know, what is it?"
"Can you hide my Lavers for me so I can't kick and give my legs a rest?"
"Oh... well that I can do for you."
"Thanks..."
Yeah, first time I've EVER given up my Lavers to someone. Ever. It's for the best though. If I have them then I know I'll kick when I shouldn't and I'll risk further injury. Also, this way I hope to build up a "footbag craving" by the time Sunday comes around (that's how long I asked her to hold them for me).
In the meantime, here are a few things that I hope to achieve with my spare time in the next few days:
- finish all my homework and review notes
- drink more water
- go to bed before 11 am
- start using my dumbbells again
- start being more enthusiastic about footbag
I guess what I would like to achieve after this is to be able to do what Andrew Grant is doing - set myself up a schedule and find it within myself to go by that schedule as often as possible. He and Tom Mosher will be my inspiration to get better.

Day 2 of Footbag Deprivation
I want to kick! Arg!
*sighs
Back to making up a footbag schedule...
Yeah, there isn't much to report. I got 3 new Dragonfly Footbags as a bday gift (they just came in). I'm having mixed feelings about them though. They range from 60 - 120 panels and all three weigh around 32 - 34 grams. It seems like it'll take me a while to break them in

Thanks Andrew!
I got my shoes back today, and the first thing I did was headed downstairs and had a session which lasted 165 minutes but I still need to stretch
Anyways, I started off drilling 2 adds. I ended up breaking all my previous records (which are still laughable, but I'm going to be working on them more each session). I also beat my old Butterfly record - it's up to 31. I will push for 50 in the next few weeks.
I also worked on strings after 90 minutes of drilling. I had a blast. They were as varied as they could've been, but I didn't want to get back doing too many tricks on my first day from the minor knee injury. Here is what all went down:
Pdx Whirl > Mobius midstring
Pdx Whirl bsos & Torque
DLO, Ducking Butterfly and Pdx Whirl all bsos
Spinning Osis bsos & Torque (dropped the second Torque
)
A run beginning with Butterfly > Stepping Clip > rpt
And some combos:
Torque > Torque bs
Mobius > Torque bs
Pdx Whirl > Torque bs
15 contacts of Butterfly > Torque (it's only an estimation as I wasn't keeping count)
I also hit Ripped Warrior (second time and got it on vid) and Symp Torque (third time was on vid), while Blazing Mirage and Spike Hammer was off my foot. I want to work on my weakside stepping sets though, so I'll lay off the stepping ducking for now.

Thanks Chris! It's been lonely not having someone to talk to these days. Conrad has been gone for weeks and weeks, and you are way too busy! Sheesh! Come online sometime
I drilled pixie sets and stepping sets tonite, while inbetween I worked on a few Torques and experimented with Butterflies ending on a cross-body toe delay (inspired by someone on this forum, but the name eludes me
). In total, I kicked for another 165 minutes and came out with some good results.
- Pixie sets started out good, but quickly went down the shitter for some reason, so there isn't much to report on those. I may have broken my Smear records on both sides though.
And for stepping...
Whirl > Ripwalk > rpt (bs)
Sidewalk > Ripwalk > rpt (bs)
Dimwalk > Ripwalk > Ripwalk > Blur > rpt
Legbeater > Ripwalk > Blur > rpt
Ripwalk x 7
Dimwalk > Blur x 5
Some misc stuff:
Butterfly > Torque > Pdx Mirage > rpt (10 contacts)
Torque > Pdx Torque off the foot on bs
And these I hit, all of which end on a cross-body toe delay:
Butterfly
Dimwalk
Ripwalk
Ducking Butterfly

Hmm...
A good 150 minutes put into footbag tonite, though the last hour was spent on drilling Ducking Clipper, haha. Basically I decided that the original way (the way I learnt them) wasn't good enough. The duck could be better, I take too many steps between clippers, and it just looks messy. Now it feels a hell of a lot smoother, but it will take some time for me to get it drilled.
The rest went to spinning, and had some good progress with that. I was mostly working on spinning out of Osis. I think I finally grasped that concept very well.
Some of tonite's highlights:
Osis > Spinning Clip x 4
Gyro Clip > Spin Clip x 5
Spin Clip x 8! A new record!
Spin Clip > Spinning Osis > rpt
Butterfly > Spinning Clipper > Merkon > Butterfly > Spinning Butterfly > Spinning Osis > rpt
EDIT - I came close to Spike Hammer (again) and came even closer to ducking a weakside stepping set! Woop woop!
