Coopers test
Coopers test
I got this idea from the "Your best Mile run time" -topic:
What's your best result in Coopers test? I'm not sure if you even know what is it... maybe it's used only in Finland...
Well the idea is to run as much as you can in 12 minutes.
My own record is 3050 meters.

awww running? i thought this topic was some kind of beer-drinking challenge
*nods to Jeremy*
we had a thing in high school called the 'Beep test' or something, where they play an audio tape with long stretches of silence with intermittent beep tones, the idea being that you run back and forth a set distance (like 15 metres) and you must reach the end of the 15 metres by the time it beeps. The periods of silence get shorter and shorter, forcing you to run between each end of the 15 metre distance faster and faster, until you cant keep up any more and are forced out of the running. Its a fitness test.
i doubt that what i just said made sense.

About 3100 meters. I had my weakest score this fall, a bit under 3000m. Our teacher said it's normal at my age after I've been growing a lot etc. bullshit.
I know what is the only way to make it better. It's called: more practice.
Cooper's test is an usual way for sadist sports teachers to express themselves. They just enjoy seeing some fat and spoiled kids moving their asses around the running track.
To get an A of this test you need to run 3000 meters or more. I'm the only one in my school who can do it so...

I gotta say that I thought you southerners were a little disappointing when it came to drinking. Perhaps this is destined for a new thread (possibly in the http://www.ausfootbag.org forums), but I thought you guys were weak. Myself... I only went to sleep because the rest of you were passing out.King Monkey wrote:awww running? i thought this topic was some kind of beer-drinking challenge*nods to Jeremy*
Ok, so it may have something to do with you guys playing footbag all day, and me not... but I still think y'all were pretty 'big girl's blouse' when it came to hitting the piss.
We did Cooper Tests in school as well, back in the days. I sucked at them
though.

Wow! You must be in shape ryeguy42!
I've heard that in womens marathon they run in the pro level the whole race so fast that they would run in Coopers test at least 4000 meters
that's sick!! It's 20km/hour (pretty logical if you look the womens world record in marathon...) I don't know about men's speed but that's even faster!
I'm not sure about these ratings, but I think that about in Coopers test 2600m is mediocre and under 2200m is bad result. Something like 3200m is very good.
