The NHL players and owners have disagreed upon something, and a strike has ensued. I'm not sure of the exact details, but I do know that basics - no hockey this season.

The CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) that the Players Association and the League settled on about 5ish years ago has expired this year, and no hockey is to be played until another CBA can be worked out between the two parties, and because players are stuck up richies and dont want to settle for pay cuts, the players association and the NHL can't settle on a new one, so no NHL training or games till it's settled.
It really pisses me off. The NHL as a corporation has been either just breaking even or loosing money for the last few years, hence all the Canadian teams going south to rich American cities. They did a breakdown of how the different teams distribute the profits from games and shit and it was calculated around 70ish% of profits go to players salaries!!!! 70 fucking percent!!!! IE cut players salaries or no NHL at all in 10 years, but the fucking dumbass NHLPA won't stand for pay cuts because someones gotta pay for their dodge vipers and fancy 10+ acre properties, pisses me right the fuck off.
What other business gives almost 3 quarters of its earnings to it's employees? I mean seriously.
