I play on 7-8 foot songs, but I've got some friends that AA 10 foot's like nothing. Footbag and DDR are different disiplines and I don't think they really help each other out much. To be decient you have to put effort into either one.

My best friend plays DDR constantly, and scores As and better on 10 footers, and can do a couple of Max300 songs even. :P He's crazy.
He's on the road most of the time (trucker), so I thought getting him into footbag would be beneficial, but it turns out he's no better at footbag than when I first started. His kicks are pretty good, but stalls are just not there yet. I made him a few bags, so maybe he'll get better.
They are completely different skills though, apparently. Different muscles, different coordinations.
Still, watching him play is like watching some of the best footbag players... breathtaking. :P

John Mahood's pretty hardcore at DDR, for sure.
Well, I think it's kind of like footbag. An intermediate player looks amazing to someone who doesn't know shit about it.
So maybe he's not hardcore, and he's only alright, and I just can't tell the difference.
Who knows.

Yeah, I think DDR is a wonderful thing, if only for that exercise thing. What a breakthrough, to get couch-potato video-gamers up on there feet. Some of the most exercise-avoiding people I know will play DDR for an hour at a time, and after trying it I have no doubts about its potential aeorobic benefits. The world could surely use a few more video games if they can make people healthier.
There was this video game I used to play in an arcade that involved riding a stationary bike. The idea was that the bike was actually a pedal-powered little aeroplane, and projected on the screen were ballons you were supposed to pop by riding your air-bike into them, or hoops you tried to fly through as you rode through a Grand-Canyon-like landscape. I thought it was a cool game, but it disappeared from the arcade, and I've never seen its like again. The arcade was in an airport that I'd pass through once or twice a year, so I never had much opportunity to play the game for very long, or wearing clothes appropriate for the work-out. If I had it at home, though, I think I'd get more exercise.
