Knee injuries from Blazeing set?

Post by BalinorNZ »

Hey everyone,

Lately ive discovered I can do a reasonable blazeing set and furthermore that I really enjoy it more than any other concept in footbag ive tried.

Heres the problem; whenever I do more than a few blazeing sets my knee gets really sore (hurts most when I bend on it for example doing a clipper).

The moves I was trying where:
Blaze
Whirling far clipper
Whirling far legover/pickup
Whirling same mirage (ie a partially uptime barrage, this one especially made it hurt)
Whirling same clipper (ie whirl lol)

What I would like to know, is does anyone else have or have you had this pain, and how do you stop it hurting?

Ive been hitting this set for a couple years, albeit not incredibly. I get no pain from it except for if I try it more than 100 times or so and my leg aches like a biatch the next morning.
I know countless others who DO get pain from this set and as a result have stopped doing it, or rarely do it:
Ellis Piltz
Brad Nelson
Chad D

For me its all in the proper motion. I have developed a quick motion that does not hurt my knee. I take it slowly, warm it up for a while and never try to set it far above my capabilities becaus ethat leads to bad form and hence, greater possibility of injury. Good luck with it.
My name: Jeremy Mirken, AKA Chocolatey Shatner, AKA jerk enemy rim.

I kick it with trunk chef elf and liz luck key my.

I used to do blazing tricks a bit, but i stopped now because i have 2 bad knees........ Hmm.......... :? Actually i don't know if it is because of the blazing, but I do know it would shred my knee if I tried it now, but then again, I can't even do a basic whirl on my strong side now without pretty bad pain. I say, if you're going to do it, make sure you are totally warmed up first and stop when it starts hurting. It's such a cool set though, Whirlwalk is the shit!
