The Rush to hit Nemesis
The Rush to hit NemesisIs it just me or is everyone out to hit nemesis as soon as possible? Me, well . . .ive been hitting my strong barraging set for about 1 year now, practically to the day, yet Ive only attempted nemesis on three separate days over the last year. I think there is a mad rush for people to hit this move. Whats more important in my opinion, is to have a concsistent barraging set that you can hit tricks out of. Thats why Im always schooling my janiwalkers. If I could hit 10 janiwalkers in a run, i would be waaaaaay happier that if I was able to hit a nemesis in a run. Whay does everyone else think? Do people learn the barrage set (furious) simply to hit that seemingly unattainable trick (nemesis) or do they truly want to explore the possibilities this set allows? Are too many people rushing to hit nemesis?

I think its just a cool move and if u can barrage well why not try to hit it. I think its just more people are trying barraging set recently and as soon as they get it they probably try as many differnt tricks out of it as possible. And since stuff like barraging p drifter, barraging torque are insane nemesis seems like a cool and doable trick that will get u mad props so why not try it. It just another move that everyone want to hit in their footbag progression like ripwalk, mobius, ect...

Jons totaly right about it being just 'one of those tricks' like ripwalk and mobius.
I say why not hit it if you have a decent barrageing set? What im not saying is go out and learn to barrage set when you have been playing 2 weeks.
I mean if your at that level and you have a barrage set theres no reason not to try for a few hours or days and hit nemesis, but I think its bad for newer players to try for ages and ages when the rest of their game is lacking, especially since trying to hit moves way beyound your level can be very dangerous (for instance, I know if I tried to hit nemesis for a few hours I would almost certainly damage my ankle).
Remember kids, long runs are much cooler than single moves!

Alot of people are trying barraging set more these days and realising that its not only for the big boys to play with. i mean joe kulacz is 14 and playing for less than a year i think and hit Janiwalker nicely. the set can be learnt with enough practice by most people i think.. so with more interest in it, naturally more ppl are going to go for Nemesis and such

I've given nemesis a try with a janiwalker + the'd last dex + no clipper delay...but i am in no hurry to hit it. Its one of those things where if I somehow "get lucky" and foot it, then i'd be happy (which is why i try it every now and then). I'm in no rush though and i definatly didn't learn barraging just so i could hit nemesis.

Ya I agree with jon about the "just another trick" reasoning. I have heard speculation that "if you can hit nemisis, then you are going to get into BAP no problem". I know me and Spadrick are getting around to barrage, but neither of us are looking for nemisis.
I know I would rather hit hellraiser before nemisis if I was looking to drop jaws (IMO)....you wanna talk about a move that is magnetic because of it's name and history??

Vasek has ducked his Barrage set, as I know. I heard that he did Barraging Ducking hand catch in Warsaw on Remont 002 event. That was 8-9 months ago. I'm preety sure that he did something out of barraging ducking... Maybe clipper but I think that butterfly would be easier.

I thought that someone at worlds had asked Vasek about ducking his barrage, and he said 'not yet...'
I could be wrong, but if Vasek has been ducking his barrages for 8 months now, we probably would have seen it on some videos by now.

I talked to Vasek at the Austrian Champs and if I remember correctly,
he said that he had ducked it once or twice but was too surprised to
hit anything out of it.

back on topic... I just hit my first barraging sets with the set still rising yesterday. 2 days ago, I thought I'd never get it. I'm not really rushing for nemesis, but if there's a day in the near future where the set looks good enough to toss down a barfly, I'll do it.
BRICK!

Yeah when I started playing Nemesis was The Move - at that stage only Sunil had hit it and Ales hit it shortly after I'd started - it was clearly the biggest and most respected move in freestyle at that time - or at least that's how I percieved it. These days there are definitly harder moves but for people like me - Nemesis is still definitly something to aim for and would be an awesome achievement. Also I'm competing with Anssi to hit it first
