:) Hey, there are lots of dedicated shredders in Kansai also! :)

Some footage from Osaka from our recent sessions. Our club is called Kankeri.

First, some barraging and technical ducking-type stuff from Kenzo, my footbag buddy. Kenzo has a lot of natural ability and he can bust phat! Watch out for this guy!

And some stuff by me. I can't bust like Kenzo but I'm pretty consistent and both-sided.

Sorry, no fancy editing--just raw shred!!

Yeah, damn, that was slick. :)

I love how people bust huge, and I've never hard of them. That's just the coolest thing.

maaaan, there are so many shredders in Japan! I wonder how long it will be before they have several players at the top level.

Do you (or have you) shredded with any of the players that went to World's?

holy crap!!!! that janiwalker video was SICK. I'm just learning barraging set a bit, and I like how kenzo does it. notice how far his knee moves laterally to go from the whirl dex to the quantum. it puts the tip of the cone of his dex somewhere in the middle of his shin instead of at his knee, enabling it to be a lot smaller and faster.

that was great, kenzo. makes me want to get out and shred.

I really liked that vid because both of you are really smooth! I haven't seen that in many Japanese players so far. So far I've seen a lot of choppy one-sidedness, and this is a very nice change. Rub off on people, and make them smooth, too!

That`s probably due to me rubbing off on them.

Yeah, I can understand how watching your style would rush someone's play. I doubt the one-sidedness is something they'd catch just from watching someone play, though. That can be broken easily by REALLY driving home the point to be bothsided. Just make sure you enforce good habits and tell them to slow down and relax!

*note* I didn't mean to insinuate anything about your game, Ken, you're bad ass. :-p

Agreed...

Your style was really good Adam, you looked to have a lot of control.

The barraging sets from Kenzo were pretty good too.

Thanks for all the encouraging words everyone!
I'm trying to get Kenzo to start posting but he is a little unsure of his English.

Matt>Thanks for the comments and I'm glad that watching Kenzo's barraging helped you out. Kenzo started messing around with barraging one day and the next week I saw him he's hitting sunilwalk and janiwalker pretty consistently on both sides!! He seems to be able to master new concepts really quickly.

Mosher>Yeah, I play regularly with Henmo because he lives about an hour from me. Most of the other players who went to Worlds live near or in Tokyo so I only get to play with them when there is a competition.

No worries, I just like to be self-deprecating whereever possible. I actually don`t think I`m all that one sided. I can do all my basic 4s and 5s on both sides, and generally do. I like to think I`ve been pretty good encouraging flipsidedness here, but again, I want to help people develop their own styles, and not force them to do stuff they don`t want to.

Hey Adam, I just wanted to add that I really dig your style. You're very very smooth, controlled and unique -- and bothsided. I loved the bothsided pixie moves, the ducks and your smoothness on spinning osis REALLY makes me want to skool osii! I think I will watch your video a few more times now before I go back to bed.
