ahhh i finally played today at the NDA after 1 week off, I was a bit rusty but I still played ok considering my level,
I beat my record of total eggbeaters in a session (3 woohoo!)
And I also managed to hit dlo for the first time (from outside delay) .. is it still a DLO or something else?
anyways we were only four but still loads of fun!
My ankle doesn't hurt too much, hopefully once I get insoles it will solve the problem!
As for shredding spots, I have no clue really.. I got a place I can play almost anytime at my cegep but that's it, good luck finding one tough

On a sad note, I heard about the NDA being threatened to be closed down.. that sucks :(

James: This isnt me. This is Nick.

Nick: HAHAAHAH FOOLED YOU FOOLISH READERS!@!!!!

Real James: Yo yo yo, this is the real deal James McCoy McCullough on the horizon with some news for the popples. Me and the Nickstarr went out to get some chien chauds and were looking for a place to shred but had our heads down in dismay because we knew some fat slunker would tell us football players would wrestle soccer players if they let us play footbag there. So we was sittin' there, me an 'im, and I says to 'im 'HEY, NICKY, i have to use the washroom'

Nicky: Then I sez 'YO'

James: So i goes, and on the way back I notice a little CACHE in the back secluded and all from peeping Toms and I asks the guy there if we can play footbag and he says 'what?' And I says footbang, you know, like Hacky slack, and he says 'sure why don't we all play?'

Nicky: So, us an' em git ovah thar, an weez starts bustin' like nuttin', hittin evereetin', and theyz like 'yo SUP'

James: Of course the fools are like, 'hey do you play soccer?' And I'm like 'do I look like i plays soccer?' In ANYcase they went back to serving their customers while we started self-serving and shredding hard.

Nick: Hi. So started the night. The shred was Alright, with some highlights from soon to be Wall of Fame James McMaster hitting...

D
O

F

So clean. And then weaving doof. And then Zulu Doof, which is officially known as "Flying Dutchman"! Prop it up. I think it is very ugly, and gross, but I can respect the difficulty of it. (even though its vomit-inducingly narstag).

My Shred was pretty shitty, everything was off, but I did hit some good swirling sets (just ripsteins), 1 was shoulder height.

James: Done yet there skip? Well he's being a turkey as usual, he wasn't on top game but still impressive. And we also stole Jeremy Mirken's idea of counting contacts and I think it's a great way to practice and we're going to do it all the time. Did you know I didn't crack the 10 mark? I kept getting nines an' shit. That's it for me, and touched stepping ducking doof, but doofs are useless.

Nick: Of course we wuz doin' GENUINE strings, not many, if any, bails at all, with stalls, yall...

Enough of that. It went well, but we only started doing them once we were exhausted, which was a brilliant idea by me. Next time we'll do them, we will be FRESH, AND SQUEEKY KLEAN.

James: sheesh!

End of post.

Just got home from NDA, damn the weather is getting colder, I wont be able to go there with my bike soon, gona have to use to bus, but I can deal with it..
As for the shred I got to shred with Claudia and Mark for the first time, wich was pretty cool, but my shredding sucked so bad, I played better 3 months ago when I started investing myself seriously..
on the positive side my ankle has no damage from the shredding wich is awesome! I'm going to solo shred for 2 hours at school tomorow and see how it goes, hopefully I can practice consecutive days again wich would finally let me improve and not get worst...
That's all I got to say
Peace out!

So some shred. I played ok. whirring swirl no seal, it flew away. uh some other tricks. Antoine came close to zoiding ducking symp whirl, which was cool. Claudia and Caro showed up later, Caro didnt shred though. Claudia came close to her first whirl EVER!! 8O

Thats about it. Its cold, it sucks, and I work 10 hours tommorow for a pitiful amount of money.

Yeah but doofs are very impractical, though I must admit hitting flying dutchman midstring is hella fun.

Well you see, I looooooove pizza right? So like when I saw that move, I loved it as much as pizza, man.

Sometimes I don't even understand myself when I talk.

edit: oh yeah CLaudia, props on the whirl you crazy girl, so you gunna bust blurry next time?

Alright, so me and james are gonna hit the tournies in 2005 in THIS order:

1) Chilly Philly - Cant go wrong with this one, havent decided where I will stay (as in, crash or hotel. probably crash both our broke asses). Im excited already!!

2) CSS6 - About bloody time. Im upset at not having went last year, that for SHUR both me and james are gonna rip it up and represent. I dunno about other montrealers..

3) Shred Zero - So, sometime around.. June I think that this goes down. I CANT WAIT!! Hackrifice+Brett Campell=Rocks my socks.

4) Funtastiks - Its been like 3 years since Ive went to one, its time to go back.

5) And whenever possible, go to brantford or wherever Johnny lives.

No worlds, nor euros, which is disapointing, but i have NO MONEY, so whatever.

Oh and I shredded with Caro today, good session. Irish Cream rolled off my foot :(

Oh and James, call me asshole.

Oh and yeah.

It's not the Shred Zero though. It is merely taking place the same time that the late Shred Zero *would have*.

I'd considered sticking with Shred Zero, because it's still the same province, and it's kind of a tribute to the footbag scene in Alberta.

Rory and I...we'll talk. ;)

AND THAT'S AWESOME THAT YOU'RE COMING.

It's going to be huuuuuuuge. :):):):):):):)

And sorry about that Kevin  I lso forgot that it WASN'T Shred ZER0, I remember reading that. Can't wait to shred too!!

Seath, you're welcome to come shred with us here in Montreal at anytime.

Fucking winter. I feel like im regressing even though i am practicing alot. Nothing went well today. I honestly cant say I hit one combo I was proud of. Nothing was on. My flipside... I wont even go there. not ONE barraging set worked today. None. Not 1 janiwalk, sunilwalk, fury, etc...

AND IM STILL INJURED SINCE WORLDS!!! I cant wait to be able to hit drifter>drifter again.. Its so upsetting. And I got my hours cut down at work faster then a sleeping mullet. Fuck.

Its 3:00am, and I have to go do the garbage now.

Ill end this on a positive note though :) at least Marc played well! 1st reaper, 3 dbl. switches in a row. Hes still played better though.

Well its been a while!

Good news! I changed my keyboard so i can now use the letter "d" instead of copy-pasting it from modified.ca...

Anyway some shred went down last night:

I run into James from the metro, which is always cool, and arrive at the NDA at around 6:45 (i think). I ask the owner if anyone else has arrived, hes like "Just the little kid who plays XBOX in your shred room", "ok".

Antoine shows up as were going up the stairs "So, is the little kid who plays XBOX there?"

Sure enough there he was: Anomoly that he is. I have no idea who he is or why hes there, but he seems content to play star wars games with an obsession boarding on fanaticism, so we leave him.

A TON more people show up, making the total styler count up to 9 for the night, which is great for a "winter" shred. We were lacking romo, so we moved the kids couch and videogame over to the corner of the room. He didnt even notice, just kept playing

Mathieu had also brought his camera and James filmed a bit later on, so MAYBE there will be some footage online sometime!

Anyway, some stuff went down: I was playing GREAT, felt really good, hit reverse-swirling symp. mirage a couple times (new move), spinning whirl > ps whirl rpt. Came THIS CLOSE (and thats really close) to hitting swirling gyro symp. mirage. Long runs, i had a lot of fun, and was playing great.

Someone from sherbrooke showed up called benoit, and he improved ALOT! Hes got stepping and a bunch of stuff down both sides, with a decent style. We also go to put on his Grimskunk cd, which is an amazing band.

Caro played awesome, hit a barroque out of NOWHERE! Very clean, very nice, and came close to ripwalk > ripwalk > barroque. pretty gross.

Everybody else was playing good, I think claudia may have hit her first whirl ever, and it was just one of the best winter sessions i had played in. Unfortunately neither Yax, Seb, nor Eli showed up (admittedtly Eli has an alibi since hes in Poland, but its still NO EXCUSE!).

Me and James head out after the shred to U&ME, an excellent asian restaurant, had a great meal, then played fighting games for a couple hours (Garou: Mark of the Wolves, for SNK fans out there). GO MARCUS RODRIGUEZ!!!!

Im close to finnishing the dudes cell-phone music, then i can FINALLY get back to making my own stuff! I got a lot of experiencwe working witch such a limited sound-pallette, so I hope my new songs will be richer, and more melodic then my previously percussion-heavy releases.

UNTIL NEXT TIME...
