Andrew Grant

Here is Andrew's section to that same video (see Derek Vandall topic about 10 threads down) I am working on. I have a really ancient version of Photoshop installed since my reformat a while back so please ignore the really tacky freezeframe effect -- I will work it out when I make the DVD. (Wow I'm so tired that my muscles are spasming and I thought it was my phone vibrating!!) A few other things are kind of quirky and I will fix those later as well.
I would love comments :)

Oh, the paradon > whirling swirl was hit. I tend to cut things out at the very moment of the stall so it's hard to tell. I also forgot to mention how outdated this footage is. It wouldn't be so much of a problem except that I'm pretty sure Andrew advances at a rate twice that of any other shredder @_______<

Again, Andrew Grant, he's so hot right now.

Such a powerful clean style! You are so precise and controlled, great work on all the aspects of your game.

I think Andrew deserves massive props for competing in OPEN at World's after having only played a little over a SINGLE year! 8O

Go Andrew!

Um, andrew I have watched that vid a bunch of times now... Your atomic sets are crazy looking! So smooth and floaty... they look effortless. Way to go. Powerful style.

I like all the hard shuffle combos... I would like to see you hit really long runs in a video too. Tough to do with all that crazy shuffle, but with a few more spins or bails I'm sure your runs would be 20-30 contacts. You have great precise control.

Overall great stuff Andrew. You look 10 times as smooth as the last video I saw of you... Its crazy that you almost never bail. You seem like you are starting to torque and spin too... can't wait!

hey thanks every one for your coments. first off i'd like to say thanks to erik for making me look alot better than i really am!
this footage isn't too old, and not alot has change in the way i play, but over all i play with more variety now. it's mostly from july, all like a week or so befor worlds, and maybe a few clips from after it.
as to spins, i FORCED erik to put in that spinning clip> ducking clip> rpt combo as proof that i CAN spin, just don't expect to see me doing alot of it. it's pretty rare for me to hit torque, but i'll throw down pdx torques from time to time. those are things i plan to work on later at some point, when i get bored of shuffle.
as to the lack of bails, just remember that video LIES!
thanks again for the coments.

Nice work Erik - great video. Inspired by "The Move"? Certainly reminded me of it a lot - although this had a grittier more industrial feel (if that makes sense) - you should add like some shots of graffitti or something maybe?

Anyway I really liked it. I love seeing videos where a lot of thought has gone into the artistic side of the vid. I can't wait for the dvd!

Nice shred too! - I particularly liked the drill - blur>tapdown>blur>tapdown>stepping ss mirage>legbeater>stepping ss mirage>legbeater - really cool!

That video appealed to me like a porno does to a 30 year-old bachelor.

Seriously, Hackrifice puts out such incredible videos. None of them have ever been less then what I expect of it, and they seem to get better and better every time a new one comes out.

Props to Andrew for putting so much time into footbag. Props to Erik for dedicating so much time in the production of this video - which totally kicked ASS by the way. Props to Hackrifice!!

I know exactly what your talking about Jeremy, and it really worked for the video, and I always enjoy Chan's non-footbag shots in his vids. VOTDS2 also had the same feel to it and it was awesome!

I've had the privilege of shredding with Andrew several times. He really is THAT good if not a lot better recently (bigger combos more triple dexs). As for the video I have criticism to bring!! The shots are good, what I mean by that the camera motions are very smooth, no aggressive zooms/travellings, it's calm and makes it easy to concentrate on what you're actually looking at.

Personnaly I'm not a big fan of the all black and white / depressing music theme. But that's personnal opinion. What does irk me a bit is how long the clip is. I think you could have cut it's length in half and kept the best of the best of Andrew Grant. I had the impression that a lot of the combos were very similar (the shuffling combos in particular). I think you could have done a super condensed BEST-OF BOOSMTIX in 3 minutes video that would have floored the viewers.

I liked some of the effects you used, but really the whole b&w and depressing (as in not "brings a smile to your face") music didn't get me in the mood to enjoy this as much as I would have liked to.

Still a nice editing job, I'd like to see the whole edited vid with all player clips!

I think that's totally a good thing!! - I have some major Hygiene problems with a number of moves because I can do them too fast - and also style and cleanlyness problems. - Slower and more controlled is way better!
