NNEEEEED HELP

Post by Whatsfootbag? »

ok with HALO 2 coming out,im organizing a HALO 1 farewell 2 vs 2 tourny..well so far it looks like only about 5 teams of 2 are going to enter so i need a fair and equal way to set up the ladder..ANY ideas or ways to set it up are good,i havent decided wether double/single elimination/best out of 3/or what,so you pick all that..

Without being entirely sure how Halo works, I'd say the best way to play a tournament with 5 teams is:

Every team plays every other team once, or twice (or however number of times depending on how long it takes to complete a game and how long you want to play).

After all the "regular season games" are done, the team that is in 5th place is eliminated, and semi final brackets are set up with the 1st place team playing the 4th place team, and the 2nd place team playing the 3rd place team.

Winners of semi finals move on to finals.

Specifics can be decided by you but thats the best format for 5 teams I think.

Halo 2 is already out... kinda. It's really good. Damn pirates bringin me the goodness a few weeks early. w00t.

Tournament with 5 teams... hmm. Are there any veterans? Like people who are amazing at Halo? You could put them on a team and offset the outcome.

A, B, C, D, E

A plays B, C plays D, winner of A/B plays E, winner plays winner of C/D.

Another way, which would be longer would be to not have teams. Ten people divide into equal matches.. It would keep the party going longer, just shorten the matches equivilantly. Plus, fullscreen matches kick more ass then split screen, and a single person gloating rights are better then team gloating rights as well.

Have fun with your farewell party. I had mine a few weeks ago.
