Footwear Suggestions Please
Hey guys, i've been shredding for about a year now and have been doing so in big, beastly basketball shoes. I've come to realize that they're like dead weights and its really hard doing dexes and bending my ankles to do outside stalls and clippers. I was just wondering, anyone have any suggestions for shoes? Rod Lavers are a little expensive, hard to find in stores and my parents don't like ordering off of the internet. I'd greatly appreaciate suggestions of some shoes under 40$ that's easy to find.
dude, i used to say the same thing, all i got to say is talk your parents in to getting the lavers, bc there so worth it... noting compares to them and they arent much 55 bucks isnt that much at all, 15 more dollars from what ur saying, and if u go to a footlocker u could order a pair of lavers, odds are they can only get them in leather but still leather lavers are great after modifieing. puma makes some shredabule shoes, but expensive, my only real good segestion is work on geting lavers... if u want them bad enogh u can get them.
EDIT: they will in prover you game soooooo much that your gonna wanna kick your face in for not geting them sooner...

New Balance CT-520s are slick looking, and they don't get any uglier after modifying them. Modified leather lavers look strange to me... My 520s still look damn fine. They were 67 bucks online, and you may find them cheaper on ebay or something.
Get the canvas ones, preferrably black. If you like the white, or want to dye them, then get the whites... They'll get dirty really quickly though...

well money's not really an issue, just the ordering online part...
i just cant seem to find a local store that has lavers and i don't really wanna order leather lavers, try to mod it, and cut off the tip of the shoe and 3 of my fingers...
maybe i can goto an adidas store and see if they can order one from a warehouse or something...

Leather lavers are a LOT easier to modify than canvas. You're more likely to cut off 3 fingers trying to cut the canvas from the inside of the shoe.

I get my lavers from the same place as all of you, but I never order them on-line. I always call the WFA on the telephone. I order by credit card, but you can send them a check too. They come faster if you use the CC, because they don't have to wait for the check to arrive and clear.

There are a few, a strange few, who like to play in Teva sandles. They are awesome freestylers, so the Teva's can't be all bad. I am personally not in favor of them. I've used them before and had my fun. They are not terrible, they are really light-weight, they don't need much or any modifcation, and I've seen one design that had some really sweet looking soles, but I've never really really liked playing in the pairs I've owned though, except maybe sometimes at the beach or something like that (on a rocking boat once, had some fun there too, and an audience, but I'd probably always prefer lavers to tevas) Maybe the lesson of my Teva experience is simply that I have to take my time and be more choosy when I'm getting a pair, but I've never had the luxury of shopping around to get the right ones when I've been in need of a pair.
Teva knock-offs can probably be had really cheaply, and be a good substitute for real Tevas, which are an okay substitute for real Lavers.
Hey Songster, where in Massechusetts are you? I've got friends in Boston and Amherst, and I'm sometimes passing through the state to Vermont. If people like me knew where you were at, they might stop by for a visit and some kicking.

Oh, and don't forget, the WFA is in Colorado, so they're running on Mountain Time. That means you can still call them to order at, like, 6:30 pm. But on the other hand, you've probably got to wait till 11:00 am to get anyone on the phone.
