Kyoto: 4 facts, 1 opinion

1. Kyoto used to be the capital of Japan, before Tokyo. (794-1868)

2. Kyoto is considered the cultural capital of Japan, and hosts over 500 local festivals every year. It also is home to the Kinkakuji and ginkakuji (Temples of the Golden and Silver Pavillions), considered 2 of the most important and beautiful temples in Japan.

3. Kyoto is home to Japan`s best Shredita, Yuko Abe

4. Kyoto is famous for many sweet snacks, such as Warabi Mochi and yatsuhashi. Man those are delicious.

Opinion: I think my thread is more informative and worthwhile than the other Kyoto thread in this forum. Hell, I give you four facts and one opinion, the other thread only gives you three `facts.` Beat that!

not only that but your facts are actually informative and interesting - especially to someone who doesn't live in America and knows that most people don't know the name of the leader of the opposition in my own country and hates that this forum is so american focused.

But only in English. In Japanese, `tokyo` is made of two Chinese characters, Eastern and Capital. Kyoto is made of 2 Chinese characters as well, Capital and.... some character I don`t know the meaning of. So the two cities only have one Chinese character in common, `capital.`
