Footbag summer camps in Europe in 2005

Post by Patris »

hey every one!!!!!!

I wanna start this subject now to see what people will say and do to get to summer footbag camps that gonna be in Europe next year.

Me and Andy Roland from Canada are planing to create an awesomefootbag net camp in Poland on next summer.
we wanna get to know how many people would be interested to be a part of it.
there is no sure plans yet ,we gonna work on it.
in this case we will see where excatly in Poland what dates and I wish it will be before Euros In Wroclaw(Poland)2005.

please feel free to write your opinions .
I wanna invite to Poland Mike Hansen that is coming to Europe soon.
it would be a great opportunity to meet new people that are interested in schooling the skills in playing footbag.
Net appired to be as much important as freestyle in poland.
and I decided to get someone very expirienced to teach new technics and ways to play a great game.
As I tryed by myself in Vancouver I've seen that Net is very hard to play and you need som sort of training to start.
As everyone knows the same is with Freestyle.

lets get started and plan a good idea.

thanks.

Hi patris,

I like your idea. It´s a good thing to do since footbag is quite "hot" in Poland right now. If I just have enough time and the camp is close to Euros I´m willing to come there.

hey!!!!

cool you responded to this awesome topic.
I can't wait for next summer it's going to be great and everyone is most welcome if everything will ge ok and come true.

I'm totally for freestyle because I'm playing freestyle,I have to organize a great place for both of those disciplines.
it's going to be hard but possible.
I wanna look for a place that will be payable for everyone that comes and in good location.

a big work is waiting to do but the result of such a camp gonna be awesome:-)))
I think anyone of us can be a good teacher or example to anyone.
imagine if those of you that gonna come to be a part of the camp
will meet new fresh players or people that plays a year or two ,would be quite interesting and bringing new expiriance .

keep on asking me or Andy .

peace and happyness.

Im hoping to travel around alot, England, Czech rep, finland, poland for euros etc, france, italy etc etc...

EDIT: i hope this is related; is there anywhere they has the rough dates or at least months that the big European events are held? Like Euros, Footjam, German champs, Worlds, etc etc

I don't know how it will be with dates,
I wish we could make it ,jest before euros in Wroclaw(suthern Poland)
or between euros and worlds.

I gotta write the project and send to Polish Footbag Assosiation .
if we are in time there is always a chance to get some money from EU .
if we lucky and the project is well done that will attract the comission we gonna ge happy.

money is always so important if you wanna make an event or camp or what ever else.

hello everyone

Well the Idea is greate and we are open to make some footbag camp in Poland. First of all I think we should work under program and "Teachers" because we have lots of greate sport places in Wroclaw.

I think we will make Freestyle and Net workshops mainly but if there is someone who would like to make golf and 4squares we are open to any help.

Waiting for ideas and new people.

If the dates are close to Worlds I might be able to make it...

I'm not confirmed for worlds yet but it's probably a 60% chance I'll make it at this stage...

I'm totally into 4 other disciplines then only net and freestyle.

this summer that was my first time on the net event in Vancouver meanwhile I was traveling Canada for 6 weeks :D

now I'm waiting to see all those peole in my country.
Poland is kind of interesting and has lots of really cool stuff.
tones of young people are doing freestyle sports in our city.

and today in the early morning I called Antek to tell him about the camp...and now what I see???
his respond...ach you man...he is really awesome brother:-)))

anyway we will do our best to get a good spot and right dates.

Euros by the way are going to be cool.

I'm sure the Czechs will do the annual Croatia Footbag Summer Camp

This year Ales apparently had a very strict training program :)

EDIT: Yes Jeremy! If you come to worlds, be sure to bring some
marmalade of yours, so we can have a JAM!!

Hi everyone, my name's Andy Ronald.

I am very interested in coming to Europe next summer and as Patris mentioned above, we hope to put on a footbag training camp. My original plan was to just run a training clinic for footbag net, as that is my specialty, but there are no details yet. I have been competing in open net for almost 14 years now and I have been teaching and encouraging those around me for nearly that long. I am still competing at a high level also, in fact I was very happy to finish 3rd in men's singles at Worlds in Montreal. I am very excited at the chance to come and share what I know with a whole new(for me at least) crowd of people, players, cultures and places.

I believe that net skills and strategies can be effectively taught no matter what skill level you may be at and my camp will be equally beneficial to old and new players alike.

I hope to hear back about any interest out there in either attending our camp or about having a camp come to your city, because I would be very pleased to do a few camps in different places around europe.

Hi Andy,

I think a camp in Helsinki just before Worlds would be great.

Hi Matti

I agree that would be very cool but I am already planning a camp before worlds to be held in St. Petersburg Russia though, not Helsinki.

The details for that camp are still very incomplete so I will keep you updated here as I know more, but I am working with Sasha Smirnov on organizing that one.

I hope to see you there :D

Footbag Camp in Estonia

Post by shredhead »

Hey folks,

It's absolutely great to see how much enthusiasm we've got here on the forums and especially seeings all those European footbag camps popping up! On the other hand, however, it is kind of a shame because there will perhaps be too many footbag camps happening and people will end up being spread all over them. And to make things worse, I'll now make an announcment about a After-Worlds Footbag Camp we will be holding in Estonia :p

So.. our plan is to put together an out-of-this-world footbag camp and if all our intensions will realize, it will be absolutely humangous (especially for younger European players). We'll be working hard to during the following two months to get serious financing to the camp to reduce participation costs (even though they'd be quite small anyhow, since Estonia is (still) a fairly cheap country... in the price range of Czech Republic). The dates would be right after Worlds, meaning August 8th-12th, ending with something of grand scale.

As to Estonia itself, then we´ve got a truly swell country with an ultimately cool capital named Tallinn that is more than worth a visit if you are around here. Historic, beautiful (with exceptionally beautiful girls ;)), A LOT cheaper then Finland, great beer, etc, etc, etc. But check out www.visitestonia.com and www.tallinn.info for further information. And just to give you another reason to come over.. as the champ Vasek himself said while visiting Estonia in October 2004: "Tallinn is nice... basically like the best of Prague." I´ll let you make your own conclusions from that ;)

Cheers and see everybody in Estonia in August!
