i doubt many people have heard about the Turkey Kick. some kids at FSU started playing awhile back and posted the event one year before it was even supposed to happen, perhaps they've been under some strict training program waiting to unleash their power. it's going down in Tallaahassee, Fl. on November 27-28 at FSU campus. there's going to be a shred 30 & 4-square competition. it will more than likely be a small event, but i'd like to get as many players down there as possible. does anyone not have some grandparents living in Florida that you need to visit over the holidays? i think not. all the contact info is up on footbag.org so check it out.

i assume the florida shredders will be there. i don't know how many there are, most likely it's a group of college kids, who knows how many? the FSU club says they have another club that some guys started in Orlando too. i tried to contact the guy running the event (jimmy) last week... still no response. andrew & scarbrough are planning on going. i am attempting to join their carpool to Tallahassee. however, the details of the carpool need some work. hopefully the answers will soon be revealed.

Sorry for late replies to people, I've been swamped with school and such, but I've updated the competition page with some changes and additional information. I'm making this more of a jam than a competition, all the details are on the event page. The most important change is the dates. We're only holding it formally (in jam terms

) on Saturday, but anybody's welcome to stay over for the night and leave Sunday. That's the jist of it.

By the way, there hasn't been a "strict training program" being undergone by us FSU people, and I don't think you have to worry about us unleashing any crazy awesome power. But we will be having fun and eating good, so if that sounds good make your way here on the 27th.

Please email me to let me get a good gauge on numbers.

hey jim, there should be 4 of us traveling to Tallahassee on Friday... arrival will be sometime in the evening. we haven't made any reservations for a place to stay. can you hook us up with a place to crash, or should we get a hotel? it looks like Andrew, Ben B., Ben S., & myself will all make it to Tallahassee. so how many shredders from Florida are you expecting? how many are at FSU?

Unfortunately the words "shredders" and "from Florida" typically don't really belong in the same sentence, but sadly I've not received any real feedback from other groups coming here

. The good news is we have places for you to stay AND we'll hopefully be doin some thanksgiving food. If you guys have any leftovers from your familys' thanksgiving meals, would mind bringing a little? FOOD IS GOOD

I'm bringing food when I came back from my family's, and I thought maybe we'd get some more turkey, potatoes, etc action on.
As to Florida shredders, Ashley Danowski is the only other big player I know of, and as far as I know she isn't coming...... Another thing....Me and some friends are getting some drinks for the crowd if any of you drink, and also we'll have some Halo2 action (If you're interested.) Aside from that, shred on campus, meeting some cool people, and good times @ FSU

NO shredders in FL... im very offended! Im living in South Beach.. and if i wasnt so far away i would have made it out there. Ive been dieing to kick with other people lately. My new work schedule didnt let me know in advance that i would have the weekend off so i had no time to plan to make it to this event. Plus i would have had to ride my motorcycle all the way there.. not horrible but my ass would be pretty sore

Im thinking at some point we should hook up somewhere in the middle on the state and jam... or... anyone could come down my way to Miami for Spring break and jam here! As an incentive.. im currently making a new video. Not all footbag, but its gonna be funny and cool as hell so if you want a chance to be in it you gotta meet up wit me. For all that are interested, im going to be releasing all my videos soon on dvd. For those of you who would like a copys please contact me. Peace!
