Thanks Andrew! Stepping ducking is the shit! Right now they feel unnatural, primarily because I'm starting to learn them and what not, but I can't wait until they smooth out. With time :D

Incredibly, from all of the Ducking Clippers last nite, I've developed pains in both legs, below both calves. Wtf?? I think it's from bouncing on my toes so much to help set the bag at the proper height. In any event, the pain was pretty obvious as I warmed up and didn't slacken much. Actually, they got a bit worse as the session drew on. Afterwards, I relaxed the muscles in the shower (turned the water so it was mildly hot, then twisted showerhead to a concentrated spray). Now, 1.5 hours later, I'm sitting at the computer with a single cold pack squeezed between both my legs. Very akward :?

Tonight I drilled atomic sets for approx. 90 minutes. I was also hoping to work fairy sets, but since I wanted to get my hair snipped I called it early. In any event, my atomic sets were decent. For some reason it was a tad tricky to link Atom Smashers together, but I made up for it by ducking a few sets here and there on both sides as well as hit a new trick. I didn't hit all the drills I wanted due to fatique and the pains but no worries. With time :D

Alpha Atom Smasher bs
Almost had Witchdoctor bsos on two different occasions
Symp Mirage > Atom Smasher > rpt UNSEALED :(
Tapdown > Blur > rpt

And... I'm sure that's about it. I wanted to hit Legbeater > Stepping Mirage > rpt but it was a no show. Oh, something also worth mentioning, on one occasion I had a symp atomic set up to my neck. I couldn't believe it!

On a final note, Alpha Atom Smasher hurts my miny me. How do you do it Kevin? :?

Last time I tried posting everything that went down Friday nite, I lost an hour's worth of typing :x so this is just going to beeverything summed up as far as I can remember.

We shredded at the Butterdome (we being Kevin, Rory, Mandi and myself). Mandi is just getting into footbag and is working on getting her kicks under control. We're not sure how far she wants to go with footbag, but oh well.

Anywho, we were doing good. Kevin has such fast feet! His toe shuffle was awesome and I was able to get footage of him hitting 20 contacts of Smear > PLO and another crazy drill that boggles my mind. I'm going to be bringing my camera to sessions more often because Kevin has waaaaaaaaaay more crazy shiznat to show you guys

Rory was awesome! He hit a sweet link (Legbeater > Stepping op toe! Yeah!!) and was attempting to hit Legbeater > Blur I think. He did hit Phoenix on both sides at the end of the session, as well as Assassin.

Mandi is a new girl that joined us a few weeks ago, and wanted to come out again with us. She's still mastering her kicks. None of us are really sure what her intentions are. She seemed to have picked a thing or two up by the time she had to leave though.

As for myself, I thought I did good. My strings weren't very long, so I weng for hitting drills. I came really close to hitting another 8 contact tripless drill and that was the highlight for me. I hit two new tricks, gave a few other tricks a good attempt, and got some pointers from Kevin as to how I coudl clean up my weakside Symp Whirl.

All in all, it was awesome! We started at around 7 and didn't leave the Butterdome until around 10:50. We even had a Butterfly contest done the hallway (which wasn't fair at all)! So much fun!

Cool Byrin! I'm so glad you've got people to kick with!!

Regarding Mandi - try not to be over encouraging - but give a lot of support. Also I find a really good way of getting people to push themselves is to just ask them if they can hit stuff. If you think she is taking to long learning things ask her "can you hit toe stall"? And when she does give her props and then say "what's the other side like?" - asking is a lot better than telling and it makes the person try what you're asking anyway. People on my msn list might have noticed me doing this.

Thanks for the tips Jeremy. I will hope that Kevin reads this, as he is the person who mostly helps her out and what not :P . She won't go if I'm not there, which is a bit scary but oh well. I'll have to ask the folks!

Tonight's session was... how to put it... constructive within the first hour. The final hour wasn't so. I drilled in-out double dexterities (DATW, Double Pickup, Barrage, Terrage to be precise) and had some really good attempts at Flurry.

But yeah, the last hour sucked. I couldn't focus whatsoever. Fuck. I couldn't keep my mind off an asshole that has been giving me a hardtime at school. It's not a daily thing, it's mostly a "when he's near me at my locker with his girlfriend" thing, so the most probable conclusion I can think of is that he is showing off and trying to look big.

We'll see how long that will last...

if you drop that fucker like 3rd period french infront of his girlfriend, he might not act like a big guy infront of her again. violence is the key.

on a calmer note. flurry became super easy for me once j-money (aka jhonny murphy from NZ) gave me a little tip. "it's not a barraging leg over, it's a clip set double leg over with an extra wiggle at the beginning". i schooled flurry yesterday, so close to bsos so many times. any way, when i think about it that way, i tend to hit it much easier than if i think about a barraging legover. try it mid time. prepare the first dexes while it's on it's way up, but start the dexes as the bag reaches it's peak.
hope this helps, richie.

hahah Mandi.

Jeremy, you have no idea.

I like to think of myself as a good footbag teacher, I try to stay away from being pushy, I usually ask questions like you say, give pointers on what I think people are doing wrong, etc...but not too much. ;)

But seriously. Any suggestion I throw her way, any piece of advice, she just dismisses it and continues to kick the bag as hard as she can. Not always, but y'know, when she doesn't get those 6 kicks she so desires.

That said, I'm not sure she has any desire to get better either. But at the same time, she's always asking me on msn if we're going to be kicking this week, or something similar. I think the only desire she's got at present is to hit it up with Byrin and/or myself.

We really don't know what to think yet.

As an endnote, I am 19. Byrin is 18. She is not.

I looked her up on the internet. She is 72. Whoo hoo, go for her guys!

LOL. Hey byrin, thats really cool you've got shred buddies now :) I'm so jealous, and I think if i had more people like that, I wouldn't let my shred go to the hole.

To add to what Kevin was saying - she is 14 and right now talking about how 17 year old wanted to give her mouth - to - mouth at the gym :? I really don't want to know all this :(

Anyways, back to footag. I won't go into much detail, as it is fairly late and I need all the sleep I can get. The muscles in my calves are still a bit sore, but they should be good for tomorrow it I take it easy.

Tonight I worked on spinning. 100 minutes dedicated to working on spinning, spinning out of Osis, spinning ducking, and all sorts of fun spinning tricks. The highlights:

Spinning Osis > Gyro Clip > Spinning Clip > Gyro Clip bs (need to rpt)
Blender > Blender bs
Spinning Osis > Blender bs
Spinning Ducking Clip > Spinning Ducking Clip

And that's about it. For the last 20 minutes I timed myself on tiltless strings. My longest was 32 seconds, which is good for me! I used 2 adds as bails, and many Butterflies, Osii, and spinning tricks. Once my calves are feeling better I'll be throughing in more variety.

Another 105 minutes spent to footbag. Hmm... what did I do...

I did a bit of spinning, some Rev. Swirl work, Pixie muted Clippers, some Drifters... Osii... That's about it I reckon.

Nothing to report. I'm going to be taking a few days off for my calves to heal up, then by Monday I'll (hopefully) be back to top-notch shredding condition :D

Bullshit you're taking a few days off. You'll last a day and say, "That's good enough." :P

AH HA!

It's Sunday morning, 2 am, and I haven't touched my footbag since Thursday evening. Sunday... Sunday Sunday Sunday... to shred or not too shred. That is thee question!

I have housework and homework to do tomorrow, so if I do shred something isn't going to get done. I guess we'll see how things go. I want to start hitting some sick 3 combos :D

EDIT - According to Modified, I kicked on Friday but I didn't... Friday I stayed home and two friends came over because they were bored sooooooooo I showed them some footbag vids (which they loved!!), some music and we watched Family Guy. That's what I did Friday, so I couldn't have kicked then...

I did end up kicking today for roughly 150 minutes.

For the first hour or so I went over some tricks and concepts, then worked on the links. The last hour and half was dedicated to hitting a combo for the ONLINE SICK 3 COMPETITIONS!!! (Join now and save 75% on your next purchase off ANY of my products!!). I ended up hitting the combo I originally wanted, and also came close to another.

So all in all, I was really happy with what I ended up with. I hit my first 5 > 5 > 5 which is a milestone. Yay! Milestone!

I hope that tomorrow my calves will be healed enough to work on pixie and stepping sets. I have a few nice combos I want to try out.

Word!

Tonight's session kicked ass, it was so sweet. Most of everything that I did turned out really well and I ended up hitting some tricks that I was extremely excited about.

I worked my pixie sets for about an hour at the beginning, doing mostly Magellans, Parkwalks, Dimwalks and Smears. This part went decent. I didn't hit any impressive links or combos but all in all I think it went well. Afterwards, I worked on stepping sets for roughly another hour. They were really good and I ended up breaking my Ripwalk record (which is now 8! Watch out Tom!! :P). I also ducked my weakside stepping set 3 times!!! Weakside Ripped Warrior was off my foot!! I couldn't duck anymore on either side, but I was happy anyways!! I also had PS DLO off my foot!! Wowza!!!!

All in all, here are the tricks I hit tonight.

Porque bs
Gravedigger bs
Haze bs
Weakside Fog, Smog, Symp Torque, and Big Apple!! Yay!!

Something that I was happy with - I hit Fog bsos in a small trickless string . It went like...
Toe > Same Clip > Fog > Op toe > Op toe > Same Clip > Fog

All throughout the session I kept thinking about the Shredmonton and Saskatoon Jams next year and how awesome they are going to be. I can't wait until I get to meet new people and make new friends. It's going to be such a blast!! I want my game to be through the roof by then, but we'll see. For now I'll just keep as much of a positive mindset as possible while shredding hard as often as possible.

Don't feel bad - it was a pretty funny thing to do. I laughed when I found out - I'm just being over dramatic! If I couldn't laugh at myself I wouldn't laugh at other people!

It's not too late
