I've re encoded the open comp vids so that they're all in wmv format - so you can watch them now!

I think there should be a size limit to how big these files are, for those of us less fortunate viewers that have dial-up

EDIT - and can not stay online for many hours at a time.

yeah I agree to an extent. I'd rather have a good quality with a larger file size then have a crappy quality with lower file size. I have a week or so to download all of the files and make my judgement. Although I can have my computer run at night, or during the day while at school

We should have a general file-naming system, with the name of the
player in it, and the number of the competition or so.

And ONE CODEC FOR ALL.
maybe mpeg? something more liberal than a microsoft codec?
I hear a lot of people can't watch wmv. Not everybody has windows,
mind you. I think mpeg-2 would be perfect for a small clip, and you
could even make a Video-CD after a year with all the sick3's on it :)

Good work on this forum, Cole!!! I'm really impressed with all the work you put into announcing the scores and stuff in the "leaderboard"s. Keep it up!

I do think it's a little too soon to have another comp already, though. I'm not actually competing (I don't think) so I can't really speak for anyone, but I think once a month or so would be better. Has it been a month already? I can't remember. Maybe a bit longer then. Maybe longer notice would make up for that, though. It's the 13th and the videos are due on the 17th. I don't know if 4 days is enough for everyone to make a video? I don't know. Feedback?

I think it's a tad too soon but that's just me.

4 days aren't enough for people to make a video... But the schedule for the rest of November went up on the 9th, not the 13th ... So that's 8 days to make a video, not 4. Besides that, everyone knew as soon as their first video was submitted that there was going to be another competition, so in reality people have had all the time since they first submitted.

That being said, this is definitely a trial and error type thing, and the frequency of these competitions will definitely be reduced or increased according to how many videos are coming in. The only reason I put them this way is because a good deal of the people who voted in the poll said they wanted 2 competitions a month and could get videos in that frequently.

Anyway, I guess we'll wait and see. Division 3 and 4 videos are due on the 17th .. So I hope some of those start coming in :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and thanks a lot for the kind words.. It's nice to hear!
