18-24 voters

I dont know if this is true but i been hearing that only 17 percent of all 18-24 voters voted yesterday. is that correct? because for the last 2 months or so were 20 million strong according to MTV but hardly anyone 18-24 seem like they didnt vote or what i been hearing from CNN and MSNBC.

yeah the young voters didnt show up, i dont think it woulda mattered much anyway because historically young voters vote exactly the same was as the rest of the nation does (they vote for whoever thier parents vote for)

I heard from my teacher that the percentage was more like 9%...

It's a sad thing when those who seem most riled up and can be most affected (the draft, your futures!!) are the laziest! How did this happen?! I am ashamed!

All my friends and I voted. The opposite of our parents in most cases, generalizations suck and so does 51% of this counrty.

I'm 18, and I voted.

It's this age group that thinks that they are invincible. IT's only our future we've got to save/destroy. If they don't vote, they have no right to bitch.

I'm 19 and didn't vote, because I'm registered to vote in one county but, I live in another county 3.5 hours away and forgot my absentee valot.

NY is a democratic state always has been probably always will be, and I would have voted for Kerry.. so I'm not to disappointed that I forgot my absentee valot.

I'm 20 and voted Kerry. My two sisters did so as well, but my parents voted for Bush.

Younger people don't vote as often because the politicians don't address issues that matter to them. Politicians do not address issues important to young people because they don't vote very often. It's an ongoing cycle.

not true, politicans do make policies that affect young people- the draft- the economy, getting a job- college loans all that affects young people.
its just that the politicans dont pander to the young people like they do to other groups and that is because they dont vote. or at least they dont vote in a huge block like other groups do.

Very true. And yes, as people get older they do vote right wing more generally.
